Daoirí’s original version was something magical and you can see how he has perfected his craft over the years. My Granda devoted his life to Irish folk and trad music so I’ve always had a soft spot for this sort of stuff. This takes me back and reminds me of my grandfather and all the memories I have with him.

I had the privilege of seeing Daoiri with Four Winds in Wauchope Arts Hall in New South Wales. He is a fabulous performer, singer and interpreter of traditional Irish music. He also did a wonderful version of the New Zealand song, Farewell To The Gold. Check it out.
