My first video of 2020 😂 Sorry its a bit late! I'll be busy this year performing and I have some really exciting things coming up! Hopefully I'll be making and posting lots of new videos on youtube 😊
This piece is my 2nd favourite nocturne (after op 9 no 2), here is a video of me playing it a long time ago...

Beautiful. I was playing my original vinyl Led Zeppelin records when this popped up. Only thing that would interrupt getting the Led out is Chopin and Mr. Harliono. ;)

I love the Chopin Nocturnes, I don't even have a favourite. One memory I have of college 50 years ago was one of the music tutors playing all of them in a recital, I was actually studying science education. I don't play any instruments and I can't sing, but I do love listening to good music, whatever that is. Thank you for this contribution to my pleasure.

Hello George, Richard here. Been quite a while, but it was worth the wait because you brought to our ears that splendid Chopin Nocturne and more than that, your superb interpretation of it. And too, George, you have become much more ‘quiet’ in your playing with this piece. So happy and proud that your body movements have become less than ever before-in other words, quiet. Keep your body movements as still as possible like, as I stated before, Martha Agerich who I hope you have watched as she is the worlds finest and most discreet pianist living and playing today. As to you, my good friend, keep your body still as you did playing this Chopin. It was so beautiful. Thank you for bringing it to us.

The opening measures, lovely how you carry the tone from one note to the next, all things born of one another. And then, how it would seem to usher in the chorale before the sea-swell, the sway of it: the drum of the moon is being emptied out. You create such imagery, George. I once played this piece in a completely dark auditorium and the effect was magical.
Nicely played! I found some interesting ideas from your interpretation! I also like how you take good care of the melodic movement (E-D-E-F-E) at 3:09-3:15 instead of just bringing out the outer voice like most of the pianists!

Easily my favourite rendition of my favourite Chopin nocturne next to Rubinstein. Many people speed run through the Agitato section which ruins it for me, whereas here it's just perfect.

Hi George, you know I think anything you play is awesome. The reason I believe that is that you play from the heart, the timing, the key pressure, hand placement etc, all are who you are. I have said before when comments have tried to change or shape how you play that I don't like it being done, because the sound that comes through your hands is you, your essence, no one can be you, except you. I believe once you have learned the rudiments of playing the piano, the rest is down to you. No one is better than you, as long as you play from the heart and soul. I hate control especially in creative endeavours, originality is what makes you special.
