Saab Shark Fin Antenna Cover Replacement

This video shows how to replace the shark fin antenna cover on my 2001 Saab 9-3 Aero. I purchase a cover from eBay for about £10 ($12.50 USD):

Later Saab 9-3 and 9-5 models used a similar antenna, so the process shown here should theoretically work on those models as well. Note that this is simply a cosmetic upgrade. If your antenna doesn't work, this cover won't fix it.

On my 9-5 -06 there is no black plastic under the soft plastic just a hole with some green connector deep down.

Really nothing wrong with the old one (I've seen 'em a thousand x's worse). Your struggle to remove the original proves this.
I'd have just cleaned the original and wiped it down with a little Armor All.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"
Doubtful the new, hard plastic edition is gonna stay in place for long, especially considering the minimal amount of adhesive applied.
Don't look for solutions to problems that dont exist......
