    In this awesome STEP BY STEP video I teach you HOW OT REPLACE YOUR KIA CAR ANTENNA. This method also works on Hyundai cars too. I included the link above. No more searching the internet for a "universal shark fin antenna". Use a genuine KIA product for your car. This same antenna cap works for both KIA and Hyundai. You will need a few tools in order to do this project successfully. You will need a small screw driver, tape, something to trim the inside plastic pieces of the antenna cap and some JB weld to seal the cap to the antenna base. I show you how to do each step. If you have any questions please leave your comments below and I will answer them. This is the only video on RUclips showing you how to replace your KIA car antenna cap! Make sure you send this video to anyone out there who needs this done. YOU DO NOT NEED A NEW ANTENNA. Chances are you only need the antenna cap like I did.

    Thanks Mate - you just saved me over $1000 Australian dollars - thats what the dealer quoted me for parts and labour to replace the whole unit.
    Just had to wait for the part to be sent over from the USA as noone stocks it locally - Fit like a glove on my Hyundai Sonata 2018.
    During the wait for the part to arrive - I put a plastic sheet over the exposed circuits and held it down with gaffer/material tape.
    That held up really well for the weeks I was waiting - The gaffer tape solution withstood driving on the freeway in the rain and was still solid when I had to take it off.
    So a big thanks from Australia👍

    Not sure if the screws broke or just loosened over time. It’s a shame that this is such a common problem on these cars. If my screws are still good then I will be going that route, otherwise I’ll go with black window urethane/the stuff they use to glue windshields on.

    I think I’d rather use super glue gel since it’s in a decent applicator already. Won’t be a mess but thanks so much for the heads up on the fun cover. Dealership wanted $220 to replace it

    • @StraightOuttaContent
      @StraightOuttaContent  3 года назад +2

      I think so too. I only used JB weld cause ive used it in the past but your right, the applicator for jb weld sucks lol. The dealerships are crazy! they know damn well it dont cost that damn much to replace that little $25 part.

      @StraightOuttaContent  Год назад

      My apologies for the late reply, actually no I dont have a link for the forte but If you can find the cap used from ebay or facebook then you can just glue it back on. The bigger issue is your engine. Might want to check out my other videos related to kias and their engine recalls. Should probably call your local kia dealer and see if your car has the ksds to protect you when your engine fails.

    Mine came off and a piece broke off and I've had it duct taped back on for about 3 months. There are so many covers on ebay I can't tell which is the right fit. I don't have a plastic melter thing either. Think I'll stick with the duct tape for now.....

    I have a 2014 SXL I had to repair and followed your advice and one other here that suggested using the clear JB Weld. I have one suggestion though. I noticed that you daubed the screws with the epoxy. That night it occurred to me, what if I ever have to replace the entire unit? Seems it would make taking off the unit a royal pain. If I were to do it again I wouldn't do that. Maybe tape them to prevent rattling, but not epoxy them.

    Good video, though the small screws come up thru the base of the circuit board (which is the antenna) not the roof, the antenna is bolted thru the roof with a 19mm nut, with my Cadenza I was fortunate to reach all this thru my rear over head cabin light.
