This year was my first year at YAGP and I totally understand the awards. I got a top 12 too and Kathryn Morgan was a judge for me and she coached my Master Class.
You really did as beautiful job, I think you should give yourself more credit. You have amazing stage presence and that is something you can't be taught. Congratulations on the top 12. Your contemporary looked so incredible, I wish I could have seen all of it. You're costumes where gorgeous, I think you really looked so well prepared and again you look amazing on stage!!
i started when i was 12 but i googled if i can be a professional ballerina if i started at that age and the answer was yes. What age did you starts at?
Sophee Breaux when did you start? i started at age 3. i went on pointe when i was 9 1/2 to 10. it’s a very competitive world. if you’re not investing 30-50 hours a week for dance, it’s going to be close to impossible.
Congrats Kenzie! Your performances were beautiful. I’ve written this to you before and I’ll say it again: you have to strengthen your feet and go through your metatarsals, that’s why you feel like you can’t point your feet in pointe shoes. Also, consider other brands that would allow you to feel the floor more. Your upper body and interpretation are flawless, you got this in the bag. But your feet and legs need strength to help you look and feel more grounded. You are wonderful and mature and I love your channel. If I may say, if you are not vegan for ethical reasons I wonder if you would consider 4-3-2: 4 days vegan, 3 days vegetarian, 2 days omnivore. My son who had been a vegan since 16 is 21 now and a marathon runner had to give up veganism to something close to this model to gain strength and increase his performance. In my experience, 16 is not a good time to be a vegan. I hope not to offend, just consider and throw this out the window if it’s not for you. Best of luck you are beautiful and smart and incredibly mature.
thanks and the reason my feet feel this way is because this shank is harder than im used to and in gaynors the shank wont get more flexible, and i know strengthening feet will help, i do it everyday! lol and eating vegan has given me more strength and i have no problems with that. i will not eat meat or dairy for ethical and health reasons, but thanks for your concern!
congrats mackenzie! i went to yagp toronto last weekend and i got top 12 classical and 1st place contemporary and i made it to finals!! you looked beautiful in the videos 💕
Is it really expensive to go to YAGP? I have always wanted to go and my teachers have encouraged my idea of going, but I come from a lower income family and not sure if I could afford it. 😥
you literally KILLED that variation!!! Medora is soooo difficult but you handled it so well! I could never dream of being able to do that variation haha. I did one of the Odalisque variations at the Atlanta Yagp and it was the scariest moment of my life but luckily I didn’t do horribly lol
I thought that though your first variation had some weaker technique that you actually projected much better than in your 2nd, so maybe the performance quality got you more marks. Also whilst you had great footwork in the Paquita variation there were some arm lines that weren't quite where they needed to be. Do you get any specific feedback?
I was at your yagp, I just didn’t say anything bc I saw what happened after the first girl said something!!! Also I was the girl behind your studio!!!! 😁😁😁😁😁😁
So a girl from my studio went to yagp and many girls fell to the ground and she fell too but she still did her best and did pretty good besides you know falling
@@VioletPurpleChloe oh, but I meant what style of ballet, I know only about the Vaganova style, but I know there are more, so I was curious what was her's
have you tried grishkos or russian pointes? your feet are really nice but your gaynors may look better with a softer shank. also yagp doesn't really matter in getting you into a company! most of the stuff that comes from it is scholarships.
I hope one day I can dance that well, I started doing small but I left it and I was quite a while without doing it now I am 11 years old and recently I started, I have seen that I am good but ... some advice to improve and be able to get to the pointe shoes soon?
Aloudi Aloudi Wishing you the best in this hard time but I don’t see how someone else quitting dancing will help. There are heaps of dancing events that donate to helping people with cancer or researching it further so I don’t understand your point. Anyway, sending love and the best of luck your way (even if for some reason [not saying it is but just in case] it’s just to get attention). Okay have a great day! :D

Sucks that I can't do stuff like YAGP because I'm a late starter. It sounds awesome and really fun though.
Jacky Star same I’m 18 and just starting to feel on my legs while dancing
i started when i was 12 but i googled if i can be a professional ballerina if i started at that age and the answer was yes. What age did you starts at?
Hagar Ahmed google can’t be you. i hate to break it to you, but you have to be insanely talented to make it as a late starter.
I am a late starter I am 11 and just stating pointe

@@dancingwithmackenzie try heating the Gaynor up then manipulating it. The plastic will melt and be moldable.
It won't be perfect but you can mold them to your feet.
Proud of u gal!!
thank you!
She looks soo beautiful while dancing 🥰🥰🥰😍🤩😍🤩
You did so good congrats girl! How does someone makes it to the finals?

Is it really expensive to go to YAGP? I have always wanted to go and my teachers have encouraged my idea of going, but I come from a lower income family and not sure if I could afford it. 😥
You deserved the first place!
do you go to md youth ballet??
you literally KILLED that variation!!! Medora is soooo difficult but you handled it so well! I could never dream of being able to do that variation haha. I did one of the Odalisque variations at the Atlanta Yagp and it was the scariest moment of my life but luckily I didn’t do horribly lol

Maryland!hiiii
Happen belated birthday 🍃🍒💕#Pisces
an instagram post AND a video?? i’m living
You did great but work a little on expression and you will be the bomb
I have NEVER heard of contemporary on pointe
Hey, I live in Maryland too!!
have you tried grishkos or russian pointes? your feet are really nice but your gaynors may look better with a softer shank. also yagp doesn't really matter in getting you into a company! most of the stuff that comes from it is scholarships.
Yes ive tried those and gaynors just work the best for everything i do. It allows me to forget about my shoes and dance freely and comfortably:)
Early!
I’m not..
only 60 people??? at yagp San Diego last year there were over 200 people in the junior category alone.
I hope one day I can dance that well, I started doing small but I left it and I was quite a while without doing it now I am 11 years old and recently I started, I have seen that I am good but ... some advice to improve and be able to get to the pointe shoes soon?
i have Gaynors too and i fr kinda don’t like them. i went from Russian Pointes to Gaynors and i miss the way my feet look in Russians.
also you can only
qualify for finals with your classical not your contemporary 💖
I was really nervous until I went on and danced
Hey!!
Brazil 💚🇧🇷🇧🇷
Hey I remember you from musically 🤪
OMG I LIVE IN PHILADELPHIA!!
I never ate before YAGP either😂
Hi
