Last Sunday I performed, and right when I came backstage to the wing, we had to go on stage. I was SO late I had no time backstage I just had to immediately perform on stage once I rushed into the wing
mafer Quick changes give me so much anxiety. Literally, during my concert rehearsal, I missed my ballet dance and they had to start over all again because of me...
Helpful & Fun Videos Made by Hannah Its actually quite rare. To get tss you would need to have that tampon in for a long, long time. Having a tampon in during a performance will not give you tss :)
@@risotto4life577 True...but it would be in the back of my head during the entire performance and that would make it more difficult for me to dance if I'm worried about tss.
OMG something happened similar to my one friend Emma while she was on stage performing. Right at the end the strap to her top snaps but she felt it and she caught it in time before flashing the entire audience. There is only one strap and it went around her neck can’t even imagine what would’ve happened.
It happened to me the day of my performance. And I was on a rainy field trip that morning so my hair got SOOO wet. My mom had to blow dry and flat iron it so I was almost late.
Ok. here are some of my dance horror stories if you are interested: 1. I was doing a nutcracker performance and I fell flat on my lower back and cried on stage. I was 11 2. I had a competitive solo one year and my headpiece fell out 2 out f the three performances 3. I was in a group with a song that was inappropriate so the teacher edited out the bad parts and at the competition, they played the wrong version 4. I had to improv a solo part during a group dance on stage because I forgot it
I have a competition tomorrow (iceskating) and I relate so much😂😂 Edit: I actually finished last bc I fell twice but it was still a lot of fun and in the beginning it went soooo well!
Once we were changing formation and i went into the wrong window and the girl in that window pointed me to to the right one and i had to run over to it late. And the my dance teacher was like "this is what rehearsals were for" all snarky. Like, i was 10, i made a mistake. And get THIS: the rehearsal i missed was for the bows, ending and the lighting which we don't even dance for at my studio. Plus when i asked people i knew in the audience they said they didn't even notice. I go to a different studio now btw, where i progress MUCH more and get better choreo.
Jenny Cheng the point is her teacher was being kind of rude, you shouldn’t degrade your student even if they made a mistake, they’re probably feeling horrible as it is.
Lmao same happened to my ex dance teacher, she said she just continued dancing some random stuff and noone even noticed but her teacher was mad af afterwards😂
I learned the number in 3 hours dropped someone and had to make it look intentional but we still got through we don’t know if we made it to the finals coz of ✨COVID✨
A girl in my dressing room at nationals (their studio went so we took it after) spilled their Starbucks on their teammates costume and they were all fighting when we just stood there lol 😂 they still had to use their costume later 😬
Earlier this year my costume was a little too big and it almost fell off on stage so I had to extend my arm even more to try and not make it not fall off lmao🩰
Oh my gosh! Once a couple years ago my skirt was way too big and there were a lot of bouncy movements in the choreo. Everytime there was a tiny break in the dance I'd wiggle it up a little. Got off stage and put a safety pin in my skirt and sewed it when I got home so thankfully it never happened again! It's awful!
Omg I had 2 dance performances today. And my music stoped in the middle of my dance and I just keep going, but at the end it started in the middle again! I just struck a pose because I was done, and waited till they closed the curtain. Btw I love your videos!

For the forgetting the dance fear, would it be possible to improvise until you remember the rest? (like an extra spin or something) Since it's super super obvious when you've forgotten something and stop. That's something I learned in theater but idk if it would apply to dance.
When I was a party girl the hooks were broken on my dress and we didn’t know, so it kept unbuckling on stage during the first performance. I had to be sewed in the costume for the rest of the performances
@@calliewillis3858 it's not rude when she's literally promoting herself on everyone else's videos. It's annoying. We came here to watch the video not see people promote themselves.
My dance teacher likes for us to whipstitch the knot on our ribbons if we have a a few minutes. Kind of a pain for shoe changes because you have to pick the stitches before you take the shoes off, but at least you know your ribbons won't fall off! ❤
The other day I was doing my contemporary dance and I was doing a kick and I slipped and almost fell and my heart went 📈 but like I played it off and nobody noticed 😂
My hair used to be super long and heavy, so during a performance my bun came loose despite the 103636 bobby pins and a ton of hairspray we had used. Other than that nothing major happened. I was only dancing for 3 years though, it's been 6-7 years since I stopped and I really want to start again

So I have two lol 👌 1. A few years ago I had 2 dances to get changed into a ballet dance. As I pulled up my stocking they ripped all up my thigh, I had no time to get new ones or borrow someone else’s. I had to dance with a huge rip on my thigh (it had also ripped across to the other thigh while I danced) it was stressful 😅 2. The year before that my ballet shoes did not fit me, I did not know what happened (they fit my the night before) so I had to borrow someone else’s, their dance was 4 after mine so after my dance I had to run down to her while she was lining up for her dance 😅😅
Okay back in my previous studio I was quite a fav for the teachers since I had been there for quite a lot so I got cast as Clara I was like omgggg when she said my name then when she said the fairy it was basically also me 😂😂 the plan was when the fairy scene would come the curtains would close and I would go have a very costume change and a another girl would be Clara meanwhile, until the next curtain close where another quick outfit change was to be done and the scene I was doing for the fairy was the very famous solo part . These 2 parts separately were very demandingggg so imagine them together . I tried telling them I can’t but the teacher kept persisting on me and saying I must since there is no one else which made me sad because all the others were super mad at me . Nonetheless I practiced them spending way more hours in the studio than I probably would have and 8 had to skip quite a few hours of school for but nothing too much they were extra hours . When the show day came the audience was literally full with no extra seat I had many of my school friends there and teachers there I did the Clara part really good and since I had practiced it was basically written in my head and then the costume change came .... I had to change the point shoes too since one was skin color the other was the basic light pink / almost white . With very little time I had to rush I forgot to tighten a ribbon of one of the shoes but it was tied a bit . I start and a few counts in I realized something was off . I continued after realizing and the performance was pretty smooth I go off stage I completely loosen it and boom a girl looks at it sees me nagging about it and steps on the ribbon( clearly purposely after seeing the camera ) I go see my upper leg bleeding a tad and bruised . I still went with the flow ignoring everything once I told the dance instructor they gave me a few more minutes to rest 2 to be fair and then the show went on I still had 7 shows left to dance and from the 6th I Apia’s almost gonna repeat the mistake but I was sure to make sure the ribbons were secured all in all I left the company that year and I joined a new one which isn’t stressing me at all ever since that day the 1st thing I do is check my ribbons and a little bit more anxiousness is added
I was doing a solo once in a black leo and tights wearing white under wear according to my teacher the stage lighting made it transparent so the audience could see my underwear I've never worn under wear in class or stage since
One time when I walked onstage there was a random piece of paper in the wings and it got stuck to my shoe, and then in a different dance I went off on the wrong side 😂
My friend is a ballet dancer and one time while she was on stage, a safety pin popped open and started stabbing her waist as she was dancing... she has to try and bend a weird way to not bleed everywhere, but still try to look pretty while dancing.
I can completely relate to wardrobe malfunction! one time a cheap leotard snapped in my face, and slowly started slipping down, while all I had underneath was a nude leotard that was so close to my skin color than I looked naked for 1/4 of the dance. It was soo embarrassing.
I’m always afraid that I’m gonna get mixed up and accidentally go on stage when it’s not my turn yet and so I end up checking with the stage manager like a million times
At my dance schools annual dance show a girl in my groups top almost fell of during tap because the buttons on the back popped open and she wasn't wearing a bra she almost flashed the 100+ people in the auditorium 😳 that is now what I fear at compation and shows
Costume malfunctions are the WOOOOOORRRRRSSSSTTTT. One year, my studio did The Grinch for ballet and my group were the Whos, so we had wacky clothes and a very long head piece with candy canes and junk. It was held up by a plastic headband, which was weak. Not only that, but we had to PIN it so it wouldn't be NOTICED. BRUH. The headband was so thin, so it was really hard to pin it without it being noticable. During rehearsals I only had like 5 pins pinning it down, and it held in the whole entire time. So during the show I did the same thing. But when we did the sote arabesque leap (I'm bad with names), my headband FLOPPED FORWARD. It covered my face! And my group were on the stage for THREE MORE DANCES!!!!!!!
This year at my studio’s competition dance showcase I was doing my ballet group, it was my first number in the showcase and just about 10 seconds in, I tripped on my skirt and fell. In my defence, the skirt was past my ankles and we were doing turning jumps (I don’t know how to spell the name of the step I just know it starts with gallop) Edit: also the stage was extremely slippery, I almost slipped on many other occasions that night.
Dancer but not a dance fear. Everytime I go down stairs I imagine myself stepping on a rolled ankle and breaking my ankle. Hadn't happened yet but I swear, one of these days...
Am I the only one who’s terrified of disappointing ur team and ur teacher cause like I have a comp some and I’m always so scared I’m gonna mess up and then we won’t place cause of me
Once I fell out of dance move while part of my costume was stuck to the other part of my costume. So, I was performing a hip hop number and we were doing this thing called a coffee grinder, also known as a helicopter spin. And my sleeve got caught onto my jacket and I fell out of my coffee grinder. After our coffee grinder we were supposed to go to a new position, so on my way to my new spot, I practically had to rip part of my costume, and it was very noticeable. Also, why did I choose to watch this video two weeks before my performance, now I am scared.
I love her videos. I miss doing dance. I should start doing it again but the other girls create so much ridiculous drama. I'd like to see a video on tights and the different kinds and colors and all that. I know its stupid but I know when I was little, I used to get excited to go to dance just so I could wear different tights every time. I kinda still get excited when I wear tights when I dress up. I don't know, its just fun. I am a girl. I don't need to explain myself. Hahaha!!
We wear fake hair (if yk yk) and my fear is it falling off on stage it would be so embarrassing. Also forgetting a dance, falling, getting the timing wrong, costume malfunction and like thousands more
once my friend was doing a pointe solo (in front of a bunch of young girls and in front of her whole dance team- im on the team btw) and the wood floor in the studio was slippery and she just fell flat on her butt. she just rolled out of it gracefully and continued dancing. i thought it was actually intentional. she did a great job just going with it!!
I once ran off stage before I was supposed to but it's ok cause it was still symmetrical because a person was missing that day. Then I just came back on when I was supposed to so no one except me and the teacher and probably some of the fellow dancers noticed.
Losing a toe pad during a quick change! (It happened to me my first ever pointe quick change it was not pretty and I was in snow scene for the nutcracker)
Last year, I had a performance and they played this super super old fashioned version of the music and it was weird and slow and we were all confused so we all looked at each other and just decided to the dance but super super slowly
Once when I started dancing at my current studio we were supposed to start onstage and they forgot! They had the lights and music go up before we were at our places 😩 my sister and I just walked on stage doing the arms (it started with just arms anyways) while everyone else followed slightly awkwardly, lol. Also, last year we were performing in a convalescent home our music stopped 😭 luckily we knew the music well enough that we all just kept going. We stayed in sync the whole time, it was awesome! But still, I hate it when that happens!
I had a mask for one of my solo, not a covid mask tho and it came out cuz my teacher put it too high in my hair but it didn't go on the ground good thing I didn't touch it tho.
Sorry to hassle you Mackenzie but I was wondering if you ship to the uk just curious love your vids by the way you inspired me to start ballet again !☺️
This year for The Nutcracker I'm a Marzipan Corp and we have a new director at our studio who's not very nice and doesn't explain anything that she's doing, so one day at rehearsal right when we came in she told us to run it and we did and we really tried our best but it was hard because she never explained to us what we were doing so after we ran it really badly she walked over to where her stuff was picked up her shoes and threw them at us. after that she said "That was disgusting. you should be ashamed of yourselves. that was the worst dancing I've ever seen in my whole career." And we were all shook and just didn't know what to do or say and she rolled her eyes at us and said "do I get an apology because my eyes will never recover from that horror show" so we apologized and tried to be nice and forget about it but this still haunts me. (sorry this is long I just wanted to share)
I was performing a ballet piece and I had finished a flamenco piece right before and I had a pin in my skirt so it would fall and the pin fell in my ballet shoe and while performing the pin lodged itself into my foot and yeah i almost started crying on stage and i see my sister telling me to smile and right after i ran of stage and I cried🤗

another fear: not being ready at time (if you have to change) and coming out from the wrong wing
this has happened to me before!!
Changing a whole costume and shoes in 1 min and 30 seconds behind the curtains like crazy 🥵

This year at my studio’s competition dance showcase I was doing my ballet group, it was my first number in the showcase and just about 10 seconds in, I tripped on my skirt and fell. In my defence, the skirt was past my ankles and we were doing turning jumps (I don’t know how to spell the name of the step I just know it starts with gallop)
Edit: also the stage was extremely slippery, I almost slipped on many other occasions that night.
Hi
I remember when I was like 8 I messed up a dance and right when I got off stage I cried 😂
second! & 4th like
I love the simplicity of your merch!
hi love your vid
When I did performing arts and dance shows, I used to be so scared of wrong foot at the wrong time and wrong entrance/exit
Fears that I have when dancing are kinda falling off my box (ya know?) Or kicking too hard and slipping 😅😅
Also forgetting a dance, falling, getting the timing wrong, costume malfunction and like thousands more
Why did Mackenzie perform her ballerina dance to the My World is Beginning Today song?
omg i didn’t know you liked tøp!! also you are literally my idol💜💙
once my friend was doing a pointe solo (in front of a bunch of young girls and in front of her whole dance team- im on the team btw) and the wood floor in the studio was slippery and she just fell flat on her butt. she just rolled out of it gracefully and continued dancing. i thought it was actually intentional. she did a great job just going with it!!
I once ran off stage before I was supposed to but it's ok cause it was still symmetrical because a person was missing that day. Then I just came back on when I was supposed to so no one except me and the teacher and probably some of the fellow dancers noticed.
When your first
you're*

Losing a toe pad during a quick change! (It happened to me my first ever pointe quick change it was not pretty and I was in snow scene for the nutcracker)
Is anyone else terrified of sneezing on stage?
Last year, I had a performance and they played this super super old fashioned version of the music and it was weird and slow and we were all confused so we all looked at each other and just decided to the dance but super super slowly
Does your merch ship to the U.K.?
Yes
dancingwithmackenzie yaaaayyy 😆💛
I've fallen on stage. It can be very scary, but you've got to just keep dancing.
Who’s scared of leaving to early? It happened to me in 2nd grade ;-;
Somebody accidentally played the wrong music for our recital and didn’t notice so we had to dance to the wrong song for a whole dance
7:07 once i learned a hip hop dance literally the day before the recital and that was our whole 9 kids during the whole dance💀😂
Are music stop to
I had a mask for one of my solo, not a covid mask tho and it came out cuz my teacher put it too high in my hair but it didn't go on the ground good thing I didn't touch it tho.
one time I watched a video of this man dancing, and he had THE MOST BEAUTIFUL RECOVERY I HAVE EVER SEEN.
Madddd
Omg this is so true also this is the earliest I've ever been 😂❤
So funyyy
Recently while performing a concert the main characters points you completely fell off her left foot and was only hanging on by the ribbons
Forgetting on stage is my biggest fear :/ or falling on stage it's an embarrassing
Can you do a try on haul of all your merch soon? 🤩🤩🤩
Sorry to hassle you Mackenzie but I was wondering if you ship to the uk just curious love your vids by the way you inspired me to start ballet again !☺️
Yes it does ship to the uk 💜 and thank u!!
Dancers worst fear : faking an injury / fake falling
I know this is old but that person should not be a teacher or a director.
4.💕
Once we where performing and they played the wrong music then when they figured it out it stoped right in the middle of our dance
Dis was made 5 hours ago..... that means I’m early
I’m ShOoK
I really like you merch it's simple, but cute! I'm asking for it for Christmas
