Wow. Thanx alot.
fabulous
You're welcome!
Are you in a 'lower' layer? I'm wondering if you might be drawing on a layer that's being obscured by one above it. Also, check your layer blending modes. Try it on 'normal' first and see if they appear.
Thanks for watching. Happy New Year to you too!
I'm so glad I can help. Yes, I will certainly put an elevation video up. It might take me a while....but I'll do it. :)
Great tips. Slow and simple. I just found out what the layer properties does in this tute :)
very useful tutorials but i am not understand furniture layer
goood
Do you mean the autocad objects?
how do i deselect after i'm done applying shadow? I'm trying to apply shadow to another area but it aint getting deselected :/
Then you just need to go back to the outline, select the area that you want to fill, and then activate your wall layer and fill it there. Does that make sense?
hi brooke...yes i realized that i was working on a lower layer!...i am so happy that i got through it with your help...thanks a lot....
hey please can you take tutorials on rendering site plans and elevations???please???
gradient is not overwriting pattern , it coming under it ..what to do..??
You can actually create a gradient that does that if there isn't one there. I don't currently have Photoshop open to look at the steps involved - but you should at least be able to modify an existing gradient to have a transparent fade.
If that doesn't work, you could always use a big 'fluffy' brush to get a similar effect.
Thanks a ton for such a wonderful tutorial, you are gonna save my job, can u please tell me if i forgot to render a portion of wall somewhere in plan, how can i add it to the wall layer?
hey brooke, all ur videos are great!learnt a lot from them...
but i am having problem with drooping shadows...when i use the gradient tool n the paint brush just as u said, nothing is happening, no shadow is appearing... :( dono wats going wrong...plz help!
Glad to help!
Do you mean that it's still empty, or that you worked on the wrong layer?
Thank you so much for the nice tutorials, very short and easy to follow :D
I'd like to ask you about the gradient tool if you don't mind,
why can't I get more than one shadow effect after I drag another line?
I mean once I drag a second line it does take effect but the first one's gone!
I normally use the burn tool, is there difference between these two methods, pros and cons?
WOULD YOU PLEASE DO A TUTORIAL HOW TO RENDER ELEVATIONS :)
I learned alot from your video tutorials. You are amazing! I have a question, how I save the file after rendering in photoshop? Cause I want to open in Adobe Illustrator and it seems all is pixelated.
hi and thanks.very helpful.one question,how i can download sample objects for rendering a plan?for example bed,tree,table,etc.
awesome way to render, is it problem though that cad or any vector based program being brought into a pixel based program like photoshop? I would hate for a drawing to becoming pixilated or changing my scale of the drawing
Well, you need to make sure you have the floor plan at the scale you want when you export the PDF from AutoCAD. When you open the PDF in Photohop, you get to set the resolution, which I usually do at a minimum of 300ppi. As long as you don't make any changes to the image size, it will still be to scale. It does convert the drawing from a vector to pixels, but that isn't a problem unless you try to make the image much larger after you've imported it to Photoshop.
Its still empty
Thank you so much! Excellent tutorial. I couldn't find one for floor plans on lynda.com, hope this doesn't sound as spam, but seriously you should give a course there! Thanks again.
