    That was probably the best instructional video I've ever seen. And I don't mean the technique. I mean your presentation. Simple, precise, efficient. Exactly how I like to learn. Thanks, Marty!

    The inverted version is actually more accurate to actual architecture blueprints. How blueprints were made back in the day was that the architect would do the drawings on a translucent sheet like mylar or velum, and then position it over the blue paper. When exposed to light, the dark areas in the original drawing would mask those same areas on the blue sheet. The light altered the chemical composition of the blue pigment leaving you with white lines on the blue sheet corresponding exactly to the original drawing. It was a method of making many copies from a single original before copiers were invented.

    • @thereturningshadow
      @thereturningshadow 6 лет назад +1

      The Jared,
      However blueprints became inverted making them easier to read and make out. 25 years ago I was a draftsman and I actually drew out the plans on velum based on the designer's basic drawings. Once i had each sheet drawn up I would lay it on the special yellow chemical paper and run it through the light machine like you talked about. The drawings' lines would prevent the yellow chemical from dissolving while the rest of the sheet whited out. Then I ran that same sheet through the second part of the machine which heated the paper chemical making the lines and text turn blue. Thus the blueprint looked exactly like the finished product Marty shows here.
