  • This car is officially fully sorted out by installing Silvers Suspension coilovers. That was the final piece to have it ready to be a sturdy seat time car for the year. I'm hyped to push my driving to the limit!

    Considering the infinite spin with the old bolt, I would be sketched of the bigger bolt backing out idk. In my opinion, personally my paranoid self would probably secure it with a nut on the other side just in case 😅

    Edit: Finished watching this and the end product is looking real goood, it's fun to watch the alignment stuff too - what it takes to align your car.

    Those engine support bars should have a bearing underneath that washer, would've helped with the binding issue.

    The pinch bolt on the bottom of the strut are common to rust on e46s and seize up, best thing to do is put some copper ease around there bro 👌🏻

    Superdope saying you got the E46 wagon finally back on the channel I've been working on mine still and it's still of my favorite car also my right rear suspension coilover my maxpeedingrods Bump Stop just blew out so now I get a loud thumping in the back but I definitely can't wait to see your review on these coilovers as I might be buying these next

  • @BadPandaRacing
    @BadPandaRacing Год назад +1

    Another thing I'd like to add it that those coilovers that you reviewing that bottom portion that doesn't spin like a maxpeedingrods that's definitely going to save our rims for being shoot up from the inside

    The exact same thing happened to my e46. One of my engine mount brackets were cracked and my engine was sitting on my steering rack. Got it sorted and runs like new again.

  • @sebastianwalus3335
    @sebastianwalus3335 Год назад +3

    You can put top mount camber plates to max negative camber and max positive caster position(inbetween), that will make self steer way better. Also you can check if front top hat has bearing, if not then put one, it also helps self steer on lower speeds.

    Also put some thread lock on those studs! They will back out.

    For the type of alignment your looking for, for a drift setup would be 0 camber in the rear and ab .8 toe out or 0 toe all around and you’ll have your max grip in the rear and front wise is more of your preference

    I used to align my gs300 following the rear body line, thinking the car had hella toe in normally. Turns out I was wrong and I put hella toe out following the body line.
    I still eyeball align my car 😅 but now knowing where it likes to sit

  • @radio8761

    Definitely need a softer spring rate in the rear. You want rear end to squat you want the front stiff to help the rear with squat widen the front track will help w front grip as well.

    • @radio8761
      @radio8761 Год назад

      You can also add 1/8 toe in on the rear and removing rear sway bar will make the rear end more predictable. Good luck w the build!!!

    Hey dude I hate to say this but it's your car and you need to stop beating up your cars Joel I like how you put work into them but stop the madness though if I had what you have I reserve my cars we all like having fun when we young but when you look back you will be kicking yourself in the ass as a older person say you wish you can go back you would do it different I'm seeing that now being 63 years old bro and that BMW you had beside that wagon I can used the parts off that one lol so you still have it and where you located?

  • @j4ck4zz

    whats the difference between silvers’ true style and divorced, its been driving me crazying trying to find out what it means

    • @logandunbar4923
      @logandunbar4923 Год назад +1

      I went with the true rear style for my e46, little nervous. The true rear setup has the spring over the shock so it’s all one setup so it wouldn’t be divorced in the rear so separate. I’m hoping It’ll be able to handle all the vertical load

  • @CE7VZO

    Why didn’t you go with BC just curious?

    • @terry_em1
      @terry_em1 Год назад

      I was choosing between Silver's and BC. Went with Silver's, after listening to friends' opinions on BC. In my country, the BR series costs the same as the Silver's Neomax. The BCs, I've been told, are really stiff. Not something that will work with the road conditions where I live. Silver's gave me the choice of spring rates. They have a lifetime warranty.

    12mm spacers will break the collar on them. The minimum you can use safely is 13mm.

    • @BadPandaRacing
      @BadPandaRacing Год назад +1

      I run 20mm on my wagon on the front never had issues nor whatever collar ur referring to. Interesting tho 🤔

    • @HardRockFinland
      @HardRockFinland Год назад +1

      @@BadPandaRacing there's no problems with 20mm spacers. You can use 5,7,10mm spacers that don't have a collar on them though I personally don't like them since the only thing holding the wheel are the bolts themself, the center of the wheel has nowhere to sit with example the 10mm spacer. Now there are 10,12mm spacers for sale with a collar but it will break off eventually because the spacer is too shallow.
