One ingredient that not everyone tends to have in their fridge but can really elevate your fried rice is oyster sauce! Fried rice is great because everyone has their own variations on the dish that suit their tastes best. Great video

Oh yeah, oyster sauce is a good add on. A little bit goes a long way.

The first one is like what my mom make, not a fan because it felt dry and oily. Would gobble up the second one. I think the most exciting fried rice I eat is one with strawberries and meat (forgot what meat, I think mutton).

@@bascoallysabeyoncem.5156 yes. the idea is some sort of sweet, sour, and salty fried rice. A less insane one would be adding unripe mangoes.

Fruit in my fried rice is certainly outside the box... no way Uncle Roger would approve, lol.

@@DaltonSwett well, just tell him it is authentic recipe from Indonesia and you do not use jam-ie oliver hehehe. I do not know if there are any translated recipes out there (tho I am willing to translate), but there is nasi goreng strawberry, nasi goreng nanas (pineapple) that is served inside half a pineapple, nasi goreng buah naga (dragon fruit), and nasi goreng mangga muda (unripe mango). You can google those words for fancy images ^_^ .
