If you got questions, drop em down below!
BoKnowsTech I have a couple questions. So the coax cable comes from any cable box? And you just have to plug that into the extender? I'm trying to get less lag on my ps4. I play fighting games and recently I've been experiencing some very annoying lag spikes. I've tried the powerline adapters and they don't seem to help. Looking for a wired connection without having to move the router and modem. Thank you
BoKnowsTech you said drop the questions below and you haven’t answered either of them.

My new job requires a wired internet connection. I cant cut corners. I have one Ethernet ply left. Should I just run a longer cord directly to the router?

Hey man I have a linksys velvo I need help connecting the Ethernet to my Mac can I please get some help
Could I just use an old cable company issued router that didn't find it's way back to the provider office from a previous disconnect?
Hey Bo! I have coax outlet in my bedroom on 2nd floor.. Our modem/router are in basement. To work from home with my job, my computer has to be "hard wired" and cannot run off of wifi. Would you say that if I used an Ethernet cable to go from the laptop to the extender that it would hold the connection? The concern is when on the phone that wifi would not be consistent to hold the speed needed. What do you think?
If you have your service with fios and that coax cable is active then yes this would be same as if plugged directly into the router in the basement.
@@Bo_Yang I believe you answered my question. Our modem/router is on the main floor of the house but my office is downstairs. I'm finding I need to hard wire my laptop but no access to the modem/router upstairs. I do have a coax cable/cat 6 outlet in my office so I'm guessing I could use those if I have my ISP activate it?
Hey hey! At our home we have a modem in the living room with wifi from there. I want to get ethernet to my PC but can't move the modem. Instead of a wifi extender is there a device that will allow me to connect to the COAX wall port and get me ethernet to my PC in my room? Thanks!
So i have a question if I buy the nighthawk router and put it downstairs where the modem is and I buy this thing am connect it would it be the same as if I’m putting the Ethernet from my PS4 to my nighthawk if I purchase this thing? Please answer thanks in advance!
Got a question your probably know...this is my first time getting wifi...i have a router which i see that i have wifi but i have no internet? Do i need a modem to have internet??
Goat SZN have you figured it out?
Goat SZN A router just provides the “route” for the internet to reach your devices. It cannot work without a modem, which retrieves the internet signal in the first place. Some internet service providers will supply you with a device that is a router and modem all-in-one.
My modem is connected in the living room and the bedrooms are too far for wifi to reach. would i have to have a coax splitter in the attic that current leads only to the living room to split the main signal into both my middle room(closest to all three bedrooms) and the living room?
Hey so im having some issues, my modem is in the living room and i live on the 3rd floor apartment, from what i can see i only have one coax cable in the living room not the bedroom where i want to move the modem, any ideas on what i can do?
I went through most of the comments. So I have a Docsis 3.0 connected to my RT-AC88U router, lets say its down stairs. I have read that I need to buy a Actiontec Bonded MoCA 2.0 Ethernet to Coax Adapter have that plugged into my RT-Ac88U via ethernet cable. I then have the Adapter connect to a coaxial in the wall. Then I have my Actiontec 802.11ac Desktop WiFi Extender upstairs connected to a coaxial cable upstairs. That sound right?
Really think he missed how the other end of the coax should work. All wall mounts in my house bypass my modem.
Hey, I was wondering if you noticed a noticable speed difference with this. Hopefully you tested it with your main modem/router and then this "Extender" as I want to keep my 400 Mbps vs the 90 I get with wifi or any "extenders"
When plugged in via Ethernet the speed is the same as the main router. The WiFi portion is about 5-10% slower but in real application you won’t notice a difference. This only works if you have fios as your internet provider.
400mbps!!! i get like 3! what internet service provider do you use?
@@tsumokun5959 same!! In a room 30 feet away from router and soooo slow. All my zoom calls cut out. Did it work? Confused if I need the Verizon extender also? Thanks!
Hi, I’ve connected eero directly to my FIOS ONT for Ethernet. Can I use Ethernet for wireless and coax for wired simultaneously?
Both can be used at the same time just like a wireless router.
Question. I have a modem:router combo. If I buy this and extend the range wirelessly. Can I use an Ethernet cable from my ps4 to the extender and have the same effects as if I’m wired to the modem/router
Yup that’s what this does. You need a coax cable
Watching this my quality dropped to 480p
@boYang, I am an Xfinity customer and am in need of a second hardwired connection in my Gameroom. My main modem is downstairs and is there for several reasons, so moving it upstairs is not an option. I thought I could buy a second modem for the Gameroom, which I did but once I called Xfinity to have the modem enabled from their end they told me I could only have one modem in the house. I don't have ethernet connection options upstairs just a coaxial connection option coming from the wall. How do I get a hardware connection upstairs without a second modem? Will the option detailed in this video not require Xfinity to authorize/enable from their end?
I’ll help when I can. I would recommend you looking into a mesh network or route a long Ethernet cable from your modem to wherever your game room is
@Bo Yang really appreciate the response, as it happens I have a mesh (Orbit) Network in my house now which works pretty good. What I did to fix my issue was to take one of the satellite orbi pods upstairs to provide better coverage. I suspect the solution won't work all that great for my theater room that's pretty well insulated but I'll try to find the solution for that as well thank you again for the response
Xfinity offers Pods. With two Ethernet ports. This setup will only work if you’re using xfinity modem.
So I can do this with the modem I. the other room?
would this work with spectrum isp? amazon says it "Works with any Wi-Fi router or Wi-Fi Gateway with Ethernet or MoCA ports."
It might, but this particular model is for verizon fios. You can always return it if it doesn’t work.
It looks like i have another coax port upstairs but my router is in the living room. Can i use the extender on the upstairs coax port and just connect my ethernet lines to the extender?
If the coax port is live then yes you can.
Bo Yang how do you know if it’s live?

Hi Bo, we have cable with ATT and our internet service is with Spectrum. Can I ask ATT to run a coax cable to my room upstairs and I will connect to that coax for my hardwire internet connection. Will this work?
does your ISP provider have to be Verizon Fios or does that not matter? And also when you mean coax cable, does the room you want to be hardlined in just have to have a coax plug from the wall?
Yes it has to be Verizon fios as stated in the video
me chilling thinking I have fast Wi-Fi with 5mbps on average,
while this guy is getting 840mbps on average,
WHAT
Will this work with xfinity router in a different room
Does not work for xfinity
Bo Yang nothing will work then
Unfortunately not, if you have xfinity rented equipment, but if you have an xfinity compatible modem&router that is also compatible with this device i dont see why it wouldn't. If you just want to extend your Wi-Fi / kill deadspots in your home and you have an xfinity rented modem/router the best bet is to purchas some xfinity x-fi pods, which are basically extenders for wireless conection, but they are the most compatible with xfinitys gateway.
Does this only work with verizon? I have ATT internet and dish tv with the coax cables and one in the room I would want to set it up, would I still be able to set it up and have it working so I could hardwire my PC?
Only works with Verizon fios
i’ve seen other videos and they say i need a mocha adapter do i even need that ? i have frontier idk if that makes a difference. help anyone ?
This setup only works for Verizon fios. Not sure about frontier
This guide was more problematic than you might think. You never told how MoCa needs to be enabled by the router. This seems to actually work just like the Coax to Ethernet adapters by Actiontec, but with 5G Wi-Fi as well I thought I was saved from dealing with that stuff but sadly I read the manual online and it talks about that same thing I was already struggling with on the adapters. Additionally, you need to have a single service provider if you have cable and Internet. If your router does not support Coax/Moca normally, then you need an adapter plugged into the modem or router as well, and need to split the cable from the line that leads into your house. But at least once you have done this, you can use the Coax in any area of the house. This should work with most service providers that will use a Coax, but as you have said, Verizon FiOs seems to support it completely while others may be less compatible.
I`m a gamer on Roblox and my ping sometimes is 12k, I don`t know How "Ethernet" is like
i wish i had it i have just wifi :Safaricom please help :(
Ethernet is hard wired internet so basically it's a physical cable
If you see your router there's a cable connected to the bottom of an area it's like s little box that's the phone box I believe
That connects to your home WiFi
So this extender gives you hard wired connection
Much more stable
question if you use it to connect straight to a pc can everything around get wifi like my brothers x box or is only me
It’ll broadcast the WiFi signal
I've got a question. I live in a hotel, I only get like 6 mbps on hotel wifi, I game and my ps5 keeps connecting to the acess point upstairs. I tried a 5g hotspot but once the data is used up in less than a day I have even worse internet than the hotel wifi at that point. Will a wifi extender or booster make the connection to the acsess point better and have more download & upload speed?

So i have what looks like a wall socket for LAN cables (idk if all houses have this, mine is fairly new), is it possible to connect my ps4 to that bc my router is on the other side of the house?
There’s only one way to find out
All of those ethernet jacks have to terminate somewhere. You'll have to find where in your home they lead to. It may be in a closet, a dedicated network room or somewhere else in your home. You may see a patch panel. This is where the cables terminate to. You would then plug a standard network cable from the correct port on the panel to your router.
so what is a coax cable? I have tons of the outlets around my house but got no clue what they are
