  • I've never even heard of the Parthenon until Michael told me about it last week when discussing a new climb. It is easily overlooked as it is up against the much larger Wilson Mountain. What once was the south western ridge of Wilson, is now a cluster of sandstone towers. Michael has summited the Acropolis, which is the most prominent of the features and directly south of the Parthenon. Neither of us has tried The Parthenon, and with zero info about it online, we were excited to embark on our next Sedona adventure.

    It’s awesome to see two capable grown men weigh the options up high after that grueling climb and carefully and wisely choose life 😅. I know you guys won’t rest till you find another path another day. 😂
    I’ll be here comfy on my couch ready for the climb 😂😂

    Discovered your channel and I like it 🙂 One thing that your mountains and my local mountain range have in common is that most of the growth is low and so for most part one can look back while climbing and have a great view . Keep it up 🙂

    I have done 5634, and 5848 and going to work on figuring out 5598 in the Boynton Canyon area. Thank you for posting these videos. I am going to try and figure out this route. If you want to try and go on one of those let me know. I am usually in the Sedona area 2 times a month.

    Thank God we don't have those crusafiction thorns in S AZ by me! then again we have cholla all over the place haha after that gully is Def where you separate the boys from the men! Heck, I though maybe I could swing this peak but no way after the chimney climb. Wow, and you called it, good deal. I have blown out a couple pairs of pants sliding down like that haha another action packed peak bagging video! Thanks for sharing. Really cool. Oh and only been lucky enough to catch a fall on camera twice. Once was nearly a death fall so I cut out.

      I'm glad you do! Thank you! Gloves would have been useful on this one. Honestly I'm used to it at this point. I like feeling the rock with my hands. I don't like feeling cactus needles. I guess it come with a little consequence.

    Always glad to see a new post from you. This one really was “Tales of Brave Odysseus”. Relieved to see it ended well without permanent damage to either of you. Had to look away a couple of times when my visceral reaction to your predicament kicked in. 😳 Greet job in presenting the climb and it’s difficulties and in building the intensity of it. Really epic! Cheers! 👍

    Glad you guys bailed even though I’m sure you could’ve made it but when you can’t trust the rock it just ain’t worth it. Great job!!!
    Nothing more insecure than super steep loose terrain with crag size boulders sliding out from under you while at the same time attempting to avoid scrub oak and cactus!!😂

      Exactly. That is what makes it even harder to turn around from. We knew we could have done it but one slip would been really bad. Thank you again for watching as always!!!

    I wonder, have you ever done the Seven Warriors entire traverse? I have climbed Seven Warriors mesa and peak 5246 on the Seven Warriors ridgeline. From Google Earth it looks doable to do the whole traverse. Another one I was wondering if you have summited is the Fin/Peak 5906 just north of Thunder Mountain. Great video!

    • @codiacstudios
      @codiacstudios  3 месяца назад +1

      I haven't done the entire travse. I've thought about it. I've done peak 5246, and half the traverse. I haven't summited The fin but I made it just below the summit. There is a 2 pitch climb to make the summit. I am going to be going after the bigger climbs in Sedona backcountry this year.

      @@codiacstudios I was meaning about the one close to Devils bridge, not the one near Jordan road trailhead. Is the one near devils bridge the one you are talking about?

    • @codiacstudios
      @codiacstudios  3 месяца назад +1

      @ruinsandridges Yes I was referring to the "Fin" close to Jordan trailhead. I have not yet attempted that one. I need to. I know of a few guys who climbed it from the South. I'll get to that one soon enough.
