We will be moving there this summer and I’m so nervous me and my hubby will both have look for clients and start our businesses from the ground! But like you said we will come out on the other side feeling accomplished❤️
In 1997 my job was abolished in L.A. because DOD thought the place was too expensive to maintain. I am a 10 point so they could not force me to retire. I kept my house there and 10 years later inherited my dad’s house. They are free and clear. Do are under management and they do make me some money. I am a native Angelino. I like L.A. However, this girl is awesome in that she calls out all of the subtle hidden costs that Have only increased. I like the freedom in L.A. but I have adjusted to life wher I am at and this house is paid for too.
Also a NJ/NY native looking to make the move! Are you happy with the move? Are you partial to one or the other now that you've experienced both coasts?

How do you get your freelance gigs? Specifically, what sites do you get these from if you don't mind answering. I'm more of a filmmaker and photographer, but marketing interests me as well so I think I could get editing jobs or jobs that involve photoshop like you mentioned.
Hollywood tends to be the most affordable option but the valley is also affordable if you work in that area. Did you check out my ebook?? Its in the description box :)
depends on what u mean by expensive. I've been here for 2 years. The minimum wage in LA county is $12 an hour. You can look on apartments.com and see rent prices there. Everyone out here usually starts with roommates. People live with complete strangers all the time, as well. Average 1 bedroom apt in a good area in the valley can go from $1800 - $2100 a month
