You skipped all of Burbank/Glendale/Pasadena. All good places to live. Moderately expensive, mostly safe. Very hot in the summer and not close to the beaches.
@@ShelbyChurch That's okay! I've lived in three different places in LA/OC so was wondering if I'd see any of those places discussed. I did not haha. LA is a big place.
When I first moved to LA we stayed in Studio City. Then upgraded to Venice, Marvista (next to Santa Monica). Then my wife and I wanted clean safe living so we moved out to Westlake Village Thousand Oaks area. Completely safe, affordable and beautiful. This is where you go when you have a family. Big house, not a lot of money, short drive to LA.
So as a older guy thats lived in California for 40 years, I would promote an asset based lifestyle. Moving to an area in which you will be throwing rent money away every month, with nothing to show after years, will be the biggest regret of your life. Create a realistic plan with a budget that you can do on your own, even if it means commuting or a outlining area for employment. So many people in there 40s and 50s have gone there entire life concentration on making their landlords retirement when they themselves have nothing. Its naive to think that you will be different when you're not open minded enough to look around right now.
You do realize how terrible the housing market is in LA right now right? Buying a home in Los Angeles is like buying a stock at its highest price of the year, its a dumb investment that you lose hundreds of thousand if not MILLIONS of dollars doing. Buying a home in LA right now is for the incredibly rich & incredibly dumb
Larry p my biggest pet peeve are men that are snobs about living on the west side in Santa Monica especially north of Montana yet live in a rent controlled apartment, lease their car and are in debt up to their ears in designer they don’t own yet. Literally cannot stand these people. Leasing a car doesn’t make sense unless you have your own business and it’s a write off. Renting a place allows you to be close to a job, but if people will never be motivated to move to the next place due to rent control, you create a deadweight loss with the artificial price ceiling. It’s a nightmare trying to find a decent place out here. 3-4K for a 3 bedroom at the southeast end of West side. Like literally facing the 10 freeway in the last buildings north of there like 2 years ago when I looked. It is a ridiculous waste of money to rent there. It makes more sense to save and eventually buy a place once a big earthquake hits and everyone is scared off. The quakes over this last week are normal.
The guy is saying don’t move here just for the clout just to be broke in your 40’s nothing more nothing less. He means for you to have a plan like she said and if your plan doesn’t work by a certain age bail out to a more affordable area and at least have a nest fund
There's a difference between crackheads and homeless people. There's a lot of homeless people here where I live (not the US) and 99% of them are chill.
That’s insane how much more everything costs there. My home in TN is only $1300 for 5 bedrooms 2500 square feet. 😳 I love all of your informational videos by the way! 💕
Holy crap, living in TN is better. I cannot afford to live out on my own - I'm gainfully employed and make median income. I moved in with my dad who has a mortgage that is about $6000 a month (dad is rich and can afford that kinda lifestyle). Granted I do live in Venice so he's got a $4M home but I ain't on the beach.
J K Yeah I live in Knoxville. But I had friends that live in Nashville and what they pay isn’t that bad. I guess it depends where you live in Nashville
Oh Lord there is a lot to unpack here: The ONLY people that live in West Hollywood, Venice, and Santa Monica are low-level assistants or interns. She is right, everyone is very young. You'll think that you have entered a college campus. :-p Executives or anyone that works in the "industry" mostly lives on the east side: Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena. Everyone has kinda moved from Beverly Hills to Brentwood, Malibu, or Pasadena. I moved from Ohio to LA and now work for the Walt Disney Company so I can honestly say no one other than tourist or kids enter Santa Monica. I live on the same street as near Santa Anita Race Track, Arboretum, and the largest Los Angeles County Mall in a 1-bedroom for $1,200 a month. My apartment building is surrounded by mansions that are owned by Meryl Streep, Reese Witherspoon, Mandy Moore, and Kristen wiig. You can walk anywhere because it's considered one of the safest neighborhoods in America. I never see homeless people... My apartment as all the luxury amenities ( including pools that NO ONE USES LOL), private parking, and is gated. I am 10 mins from DTLA, 10 mins from Burbank, and 5 from Glendale. In conclusion, you have been robbed. They take advantage of youngsters in those areas because they convince them that it's trendy to live there; in reality living in those areas are exactly opposite from being trendy. Those areas are tourist traps.
I guess K.A removed their comment. I will reply anyway: According to GPS (Right now) Los Angeles is 14mins away and Burbank is 12. It's called the 134 to Burbank and the 110 to DTLA.
I live in WeHo and I actually feel with the cost of rent it’s much more worth not having to pay vehicle payments + insurance + Gas + Valet Parking here and there, when you can just take a quick bus or Uber as long as you don’t go out and chill EVERYDAY of the week itll save you more then with a vehicle, if anyone wants to move to LA and doesn’t want to pay 1,000 just keep looking because I found a shared room for $560 a month in West Hollywood and have been here ever since.
Yeah if your single with just an average job the only way u can do it is renting a room. 560 is a good deal. Most of the room ads i saw for LA were like 700 or 800 a month for a rented room. (utilities included)
I currently live in Westwood by convenience of living close to school (UCLA) not choice and my apartment is $5,500 a month! I tried convincing myself that the price is worth it because “it’s LA” but honestly after being here for a while, the hype of living in LA dies down.
Ummm you could easily move over the Hill for way less. I don't get the stigma with the valley all the studios are over here and we have good bars. College kids can be so weird about it. Westwood is basically over priced trust fund people I know I have friends in the Westwood Brentwood area who have trusts.
Kaity Lowe although it is more affordable to live elsewhere, most students including myself choose to live in apartments in or near Westwood and share them with many other students (I’ve known people who cram up to 10 people in a 3 bedroom apartment) essentially I pay $800 for a shared room. It’s sadly often a matter of being able to attain adequate sleep that convinces people that living in these situations is okay because people who do live in more reasonably affordable areas such as the San Fernando Valley are often forced to wake up at 4 am in order to get to school on time without getting stuck in traffic (many of my friends who commute complain about this). Long story short, you often either pay a lot for convenience in LA or you pay time in traveling time.
another tip if you plan on having a roommate: there are tons of facebook groups for people looking for someone to fill a room in their apartment, or looking for roommates to find a new place with. That's how I've found every place I've lived so far and it's worked out really well! also let me add: echo park/silver lake is the BEST area to live in if you're young and fun and broke. It's "hipster-y" but not in the venice, surfer dude-artist way. It's a lot of young writer-types who practically live in coffee shops, there's a ton of cute parks, bars, etc and it's close to downtown without being in downtown. It's such an underrated area and truly the hidden secret of LA
Important: The Beach communities are significantly cooler in the summer. It's 20, or even 30 degrees cooler than areas inland, and are pretty much immune to heat waves.
@@Camelotskin In any case, 10 degrees is the threshold between "Yeah, we don't need the AC right now" and, "Dammit, it's just too hot to walk to the farmer's market to pick up our locally grown organic produce so we need to drive there, even though the air conditioning in my car is contributing to man-made catastrophic global climate change."
I live in Manhattan. I am definitely prepared for tbe rent. I did grow up in the East Bay. I am a acali girl by birth. But, LA is less expensive than Manhattan. 🌻

UP AND RUNNING metro system that's ALWAYS being used....OMG!!! HAVE YOU NOT SEEN THE FLEET OF MTA BUSES! THEY'RE BRIGHT ORANGE SO YOU CANT MISS THEM!

Let's get real ! I lived and worked in the Glendale/Burbank area, definitely one of the better parts of LA. I still couldn't wait to get out. Smog, traffic, crime and too expensive were the main reasons. I have literally lived and traveled all over the world.106 countries, most visited many times. I now live in SE Arizona and would not live anywhere else !
The ones I’ve been around in Westwood and downtown LA have yelled in my face before and just been really unpredictable, personally I wouldn’t feel safe walking around at night in downtown LA so it’s just something for people to take into consideration!
@@ShelbyChurch I totally get where you are coming from. I do, it just seemed very biased that all homeless are violent. You could have talked about the safety in general of the area I guess. I liked your video and you are experienced in LA. Just food for thought. That's all :)
A study in criminal behavior by homeless people in New York City showed the rate of violent crimes committed by inmates who were homeless was 40x higher than inmates who were not homeless. I know NY isnt LA but Im sure it's a similar story. it's silly to not to associate homeless/poor areas with violent crimes.
She said the ones in Venice are chill so I don’t think she hates homeless people Homeless people are different in every area throughout every city. I live in Austin and we have THOUSANDS of homeless people here. They all react differently to being around people. I’ve had great experiences with the downtown but up north they’re a little meaner
Lived in mid city for over 20 years. I’d say definitely learn to use the metro and DASH system, especially going to the downtown area. No need to hassle with driving in that hot mess or finding and paying for parking. I feel much more mobile and free without the car.
Lol, never ever moving to LA. My family rented a 5 bedroom house, 3,000 square feet, for only 1,600$ a month where we live. California in general is just expensive!!
@@derrickw.4002 It cost that much for LA to live in a decent place/area..Google current apartment prices in LA. Search low to high. You'll see the quality difference on from low to high. Finding a 5 bedroom house for $1,600 anywhere in CA would be a task.

San Diego is too dull. Pretty much the same issue for other CA cities, only LA and SF seem to be fun and interesting. The rest are very unremarkable and cookie cutter. I do like that the main downtown business area is near the water, unlike LA where it's well inland.
Ben Neb you sound restarted, San Diego probably one of the most active cities in the world. There’s tons you can do. There’s something to do for each season of the year.
@@fxckkyeh.h7 " you sound restarted" - seriously? Also, I wasn't referring to outdoor options. It's hardly known for being a great city for single people. If I were married, yeah, I may consider it.
Actually A LOT of people take the metro transit system. I took the train and bus to work for over a year and TRUST ME it's just as packed as the metro transit in Chicago and a little less than New York.
Your description of mid-city cracked me up! I just moved there from the south bay. A whole other world. I have never felt unsafe BUT as a POC and a man, my experience may be different. Soooooooo centrally located, I'm like 10 minutes from everything. I'm paying a fraction of what I would pay anywhere else for a GORGEOUS 1 bedroom in a four plex. Giving myself a year to see if the pro's outweigh the cons. Great work!
Oh my god, great video thankyou so much for making this. I’m moving in May and already have found 2 spots me and a few buddy’s are moving down there but this gave me a better insight on everything. I’ve visited a few times and fell in love with everything there. So ready😩
A little LA traffic secret. Monday’s and Friday’s are the best days because a lot of people work the 9/80 shift or 10/40 shift and have either mondays or Friday’s off. Best days to book appointments, go to beach, etc. ., Saturday and Sunday mornings are a breeze for traffic.
I disagree about downtown LA. It’s always been overpriced for what you really get. Just as expensive as Santa Monica and there’s not nearly the amount of amenities you get on the westside. West Hollywood is “central” if your life revolves around that area. To get out of Weho takes a village. Spot on about Mid City. I live here, not the best, but much more affordable. Gentrifying quickly though. Townhouses down the street from me just sold for over a million each. It is central and close to freeways if you drive a lot.
I lived in L.A. for 15+ years and I moved out about 6 months ago. I now have a brand-new house on 5 acres of land in beautiful Northern Arizona and my mortgage is only $900/mo. The house isn't huge, it's 2 bed 2 bath and around 950 sq ft, but as I mentioned before it's brand-new...and with all that land, I can build and expand.
Hi Shelby. I really enjoyed watching this video about living in Los Angeles. I live in a small town of North Carolina in the east coast. I’m a freshman in high school and my dream is too live in California. I really enjoyed this video
In terms of apartments, look at the outskirts of LA. LA is a country, so look in the valley, east LA, Long Beach, Southbay, Pasadena, but not LA Metro.
I've been to L.A. four times. I think its changing a bit from what it used to be...I love your descriptions of the different parts of it. I always wanted to live in Van Nuys.
That’s what it is. It’s really not glamorous at all. Hollywood Boulevard is dirty and packed with panhandlers and Asian tour groups. Rodeo Drive is nice for one visit if you want to see overpriced clothes and super cars, but it’s nothing worth going out of your way for. When you first arrive, you’ll ooh and ahh at the Hollywood Sign, but you get used to it. You’ll see celebrities out and about, but they go by so quickly you won’t be able to chat. The first week I was there, I saw Simon Cowell on Melrose in a red Ferrari, and I saw Angelyne in her pink car. If you want to enjoy living in LA, you need to make six figures and invest your money well, or you will constantly sweat the cost of living.
I strongly recommend Pasadena, just 15 min drive from downtown LA, great neighborhood, the price is not TOO crazy (everywhere's expensive in LA), lived there my entire life.
Here in Orlando, a one bedroom apartment is $1200-$1500, depending on the apartment area. A 2 to 3 bedroom home is anywhere between $1500-$2500, depending on the area as well. It takes 45 mins to an hour just to commute a few miles on I-4. So, it's not only expensive, but, stressful no matter where you live!!!

OMG this video -- are you trying to scare people away?! People, if you dream of living in L.A. but hearing the rent prices she gave scares your pants off, take a deep breath: I assure you, *_you can find a nice, clean, perfectly safe one-bedroom apartment all your own for around 1500/mo._* Look in places like Redondo Beach and Torrence if you want to be near the water, or Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Burbank in the near Valley (just over the Hollywood Hills) if you want to be closer to central Los Angeles. I don't know how long Shelby has been in L.A. to not have mentioned these areas, but... (edited for a typo)
Yea, we don’t need more traffic! Just kidding haha I considered adding those in and filmed parts of them but the video was getting too long so I stuck to more central parts of LA
@@ShelbyChurch Sorry, Shelby, I don't mean to be a pain, it's just that I remember arriving in L.A. at 19, terrified I'd end up on the street, broke and unable to afford a place to live, and I know lots of young people are in the boat -- to all of you who are, *DON'T BE!* It'll work out! You'll make it! And living in L.A. is an amazing experience unlike *_anywhere_* else! 😺 But if giving advice to people dreaming of moving to La La Land, you should be letting them know there are safe, clean, affordable options -- not scaring them with $4400/mo 2 bed places presented as being 'typical.' About being more central -- and your comment about Hollywood being sketchy -- definitely parts of it are! But not all of it. The area west of La Brea where it bumps up next to West Hollywood is nice, urban feeling, away from the tourist Hell, and better priced than a true 'West Hollywood' address. If you shop around, you can find a decent studio there for around 1300/mo. Personally, I really like that area and lived there for a few years. And even a studio apartment of your own is far more appealing than just renting a room, I think, for most people? Idk.
Love the video! Really informative! It`s also really nice to hear someone talk about the positives of LA (I`ve probably watched 50 vids by now and yours is the only one that does that)! Subbed
everyone talks about the cost of living, what about salaries? Okay, sure, $1000 is the cheapest apartment you can find, but how much of a percent does that represent for an "LA" salary?
You're right about the average L.A. salary to L.A. cost of living, and the fact that a lot of people who complain about L.A. cost of living are from states where the minimum wage is still a measly $7.25 per hour and the average pay is quite low!!!!!!!! Go figure!
@@ralphjames1211 That's what I've always thought, the pay must even it out a little bit. Maybe not all the way but it's not as bad as some people think.
Ive been watching your videos for years, and i will continue to. This video has been very informative and i believe will be helpful for many! But im just curious why you kept associating being around homeless people with being unsafe. Just because someone doesnt have a place to live, doesnt mean they are unsafe or are going to hurt you. I live in canada and i work with one of the largest homeless populations. Anyone can hurt you or make you feel unsafe, if you use common sense you shouldn't have a problem. The homeless folks i work with have been some of the sweetest and most giving people ive ever met. Just because they cant afford to pay 3k a month for rent, doesnt mean they dont deserve the same dignity and respect as anyone else. Anyways, just some food for thought❤
teighan lynn homeless people are extremely different everywhere you go. That’s why. Some of them are extremely violent and rude. Most are not but if she’s hard a scary experience with more of the mean ones, it’s hard for her view to remain unskewed
Los Angeles, is great only if you have the financial means to support yourself and your family. The problem is too many people want to live there for obvious reasons such as weather, and opportunities but it means the cost of everything has to increase. Supply and Demand. Wavey eh depends on where you live too. In Texas the housing prices are going up as well. Our mortgage is 1,000 a month for a 3 bed, 2 bath, garage house. In my opinion that’s average, not really a mansion. Only difference from us and our neighbors is that our house is more spaced out (the living room is big, and the rooms have some space in between them.) and have higher ceilings.
Pointless i live in houston have a 250k home its a mansion to me compare to a 250k home in LA would cost. My morage is around 1300 for 4 bedrooms 3.5 baths and a huge backyard with 2 car garage parking a drive way. So theres that lol. Texas homes are huge compare to other states and and much cheaper ever tho the cost is going up.
Wavey I just think it’s where I live then cause houses here are around 150,000-250,000 (you can get a 4 bed here but it’s not a standard.) but like I said, most houses here are 3 bed, 2 bath. Plus, I live in a small town in northern Texas, most people here are AG or factory workers, working overtime for 800 a week. I’m surprised Houston is so cheap tbh, I have a friend that moved there and they also got a house about your size and I never understood how they could afford it lol. Houston is literally full of people, plus y’all’s highways are dangerous, every time I would go I’d see like 4 accidents, I’m sure there’s more per day tho lol
$1500 you can find nice 1 bedroom 1 bath apartments with amenities like pool, spa, jacuzzi, gym, and it be in a good location. But it also depends how close you are to Hollywood. The closer you are the more expensive it is especially if you want a nice place
Abby Suh All the shopping places have crappy parking and you have have to pay for parking in lots of places too. OC has better shopping places with better parking and most of the parking is free.
Echo Park, silver lake, Los Feliz is also very expensive. Since it is so gentrified, new housing is made but rent is high as well. Really nice places to live.

For the average person looking to move to LALA land be prepared to pay out of your ass for the year round nice weather and the plush sandy beaches and all the hype glitz n glamour of LA. First upon arrival you will pay well over 3 bucks a gallon for gas. Second- you will get taxed on everything you buy like food, car registration and inspection and the state of Cali will also take their nice portion of your paycheck. 3rd L.A. is way overcrowded and populated to the point where it can get overwhelming, if you have to get anywhere by a certain time leave early cause you will find yourself in very slow moving freeway traffic and very congested surface streets where you will hit a major intersection every 150 yards or so with traffic lights that take forever to change and traffic is worse on the weekends when everyone is out heading to places like the local beaches , ammusment parks or headed out of town to Vegas, San Diego/Tijuana , palm springs or San Fran. 5th on any day anywhere you go to do whatever you will going large crowds and long lines at the bank, post office, grocery stores, restaurants, fast food joints and gas stations. 6th - a studio or a one bedroom apartment in the LA. erea will range anywhere from 1,000 to 1,400 and it will be in some runed down apartment buildings in South central or parts of east L.A., if you want to live in a decent part of town like the West side or in a South bay city near the beach or in trendy ereas just north of downtown like silver lake, echo park and Glendale with all the Armenians and hipsters it will cost you 1,8000 and up like way up. 7th - if you want to own a home in L.A. county an average house in a lower middle-class neiborhood borderline ghetto will start off at 360,000 - 400.000 k , and depending on your credit and how much you put down payment you will have yourself a nice hefty mortgage of between 2,500 - 3,000 a month. So LA LA land is not all it's cracked up to be and if your looking to move there bring money and lots of it because if you want to live comfortably in a decent part of the city you will need to bust your ass working 2 jobs or have one job where you earn at least 70 k a year. All this in a nutshell is the hard cold truth of living in the city of Angeles and if you go there unprepared L.A. is a mean and nasty place that will chew you up and spit you out with no mercy.

A little late, but if anyone is considering moving to LA try looking 20-30 miles East. Claremont, Montclair, Ontario, Chino, etc. A lot cheaper than the city and only 25-45 minutes from pretty much any spot in LA.
The metro is used quite a bit by people who commute from San Gabriel Valley and the IE who work in LA, it’s one of the best ways to avoid traffic on the 10 fwy.

I have thought about moving to LA after college because there seems to be so much more opportunity than where I live in Michigan! I have heard multiples times that people see celebrities walking around and it’s no big deal. I just have a hard time believing people don’t ask for pictures or anything. How much truth is there to this?
I'm from Michigan and moved her, but I lived in shadier areas you'll survive if you do that. I live in the valley now and it's nice. You do see celebs around usually no one bothers them because they're home, but I did see Miley outside Granville Restaurant like a month back and someone did get a photo with her so it does happen.
If your still in school I recommend you apply for internships in LA to see if you like it over the summer 👍 or apply to jobs in LA while you are still in school that way you have a job lined up. There are many areas to live in “LA County” 😉 besides what was mentioned

Thanks
How much is affordable? I meant for housing?
Larry p 40 years ago people could buy ocean view homes in California for $15k-$30k
Whats your suggestion then?
The guy is saying don’t move here just for the clout just to be broke in your 40’s nothing more nothing less. He means for you to have a plan like she said and if your plan doesn’t work by a certain age bail out to a more affordable area and at least have a nest fund

Holy!! How are you affording that as a college student?!
@@KaityCookedWhat Shared room or parents.
@@afranco32 I pay $900 in south central L.A. the joke is on you
another tip if you plan on having a roommate: there are tons of facebook groups for people looking for someone to fill a room in their apartment, or looking for roommates to find a new place with.
Hey! What facebook groups can you recommend? :)
Important: The Beach communities are significantly cooler in the summer. It's 20, or even 30 degrees cooler than areas inland, and are pretty much immune to heat waves.
More like 10 degrees cooler unless you live in the Valley.

Sorry, Shelby, I don't mean to be a pain, it's just that I remember arriving in L.A. at 19, terrified I'd end up on the street, broke and unable to afford a place to live, and I know lots of young people are in the boat -- to all of you who are, *DON'T BE!* It'll work out! You'll make it! And living in L.A. is an amazing experience unlike *_anywhere_* else! 😺
But if giving advice to people dreaming of moving to La La Land, you should be letting them know there are safe, clean, affordable options -- not scaring them with $4400/mo 2 bed places presented as being 'typical.' About being more central -- and your comment about Hollywood being sketchy -- definitely parts of it are! Idk.
Even those places are more expensive than $1500. If it's nice and clean.

*I love how helpful your videos are! and honestly, I have no desire to ever move to LA. Overprice, crowded, dirty and kinda not worth it since all the youtubers live there I already know what there is to do* but I am a die hard west coast baby!! great find on your place, thats cool (:
Thanks Shelby! Good information, I'll move there one day.
I lived in North Hollywood for a year and I loved it.
NoHo is pretty cool.
A mansion in texas will cost you about 1300 a month 😍
Pointless especially with 2 or 3 household income coming in, its extremly affordable as well.
😂
$1500 you can find nice 1 bedroom 1 bath apartments with amenities like pool, spa, jacuzzi, gym, and it be in a good location. But it also depends how close you are to Hollywood. The closer you are the more expensive it is especially if you want a nice place
Girl you just generalized an important part of Los Angeles you probably never even stepped foot in....
South LA is a gang infested shithole and you know it.
@@thinkingagain5966 yes it is it's not as crazy as before but not worth living in.
My cousin lives in Hollywood Hills and man the parking sucks... I’m going to stick to OC.
Abby Suh All the shopping places have crappy parking and you have have to pay for parking in lots of places too. OC has better shopping places with better parking and most of the parking is free.
What about info on living in east LA? Echo Park, Silver Lake, Los Feliz, etc?
Echo Park, silver lake, Los Feliz is also very expensive. Since it is so gentrified, new housing is made but rent is high as well. Really nice places to live.
All those places are really chill but just as expensive plus hard pass walking up some of the hills in echo park hahaha but all in all seems like she probably doesn’t spend much time on the east of la this place is just so big I mean she hasn’t been on the metro when this video was made I mean it’s a pretty fun way to get around but she seems like the type of person who might be sketched out by it
Thats not really east LA...
thats west la not east la. east la is Monterey park Alhambra Boyle heights etc.
Ikr. East la u can got studios for like 900 or 1000 where u have ur own apartment just it's a studio n u can get a one bedroom apartment to urself for like 1300 hahahaha she's sooooooooo wrong
This was probably the most helpful video I’ve seen on this subject. Thanks a bunch.
All this in a nutshell is the hard cold truth of living in the city of Angeles and if you go there unprepared L.A. is a mean and nasty place that will chew you up and spit you out with no mercy.
actually THOSE WHO WORK AN l.a. JOB AND NOT AT Walmart MAKES GOOD MONEY AND ARE ABLE TO AFFORD l.a. COST OF LIVING, EATING, ENTERTAINMENT, GOING OUT ON THE TOWN, AND ALL THE NICE THINGS l.a. HAS TO OFFER!!!!!!!!!
La jobs are high paying. Even grocery stores. I’m 23 and I have a house bcs I got a good job when I was 15. It looks expensive bcs it’s not normal for people who are “rich” where they live
i think your comment is more valuable than this 10 min. video...
Chico Malico thats it
A little late, but if anyone is considering moving to LA try looking 20-30 miles East. Claremont, Montclair, Ontario, Chino, etc. A lot cheaper than the city and only 25-45 minutes from pretty much any spot in LA.
I have used the metro in La (as tourist) and it was pretty busy...
Antonio Dell'Elce I was going to say the same thing
can u imagine how it feels for us residents.....I used to HATE getting in the bus!
the trains and buses are busy? that’s crazy. this is the most interesting comment i’ve ever read
The metro is used quite a bit by people who commute from San Gabriel Valley and the IE who work in LA, it’s one of the best ways to avoid traffic on the 10 fwy.
Yeah, the Gold Line, Red Line and Expo Line to the beach is always busy
Thank you so much for this video🤍 I currently live in Montreal and I plan to move to LA asap. I needed these infos :)
idk why im watching this if I love living in Texas lol
True stay there... I'll stay in this shithole Jersey... dont need to be in another shithole... at least people are real on this coast and ain't plastic dolls either.
@@Paradisio84 LOL
Stay. Last thing we need is a Texan with racist values in a blue state
Yeah lol people here in LA would probably bully you 😂
@@Paradisio84 jersey suckssss. So does PA.
I'm going to binge watch the fucken shit outta your vlogmas videos I have the time I'm so behind on that lmao😂🤣😆
Lmao I was cringing so hard when she said don’t go south of LA 😂
Or when she said nobody uses the metro system 😂 she has never been on the blue line at 7am
I think she means LA County because actually south of LA is OC and OC is gorgeous.
Abby Suh OC is like a little LA it has nice places but a lot is also bad areas
There are hardly any Whites living in South LA. There are many Blacks and Latinos there.
@@AntiMasonic93 there are NO WHITES living anywhere in L.A lmao it’s all
Mexicans/Hispanic/Latinos..If anything all the blonde people live in south O.C
Such a good video! Excited for vlogmas
No one lights a lamp and puts it in a cellar or under a basket. Instead, he sets it on a lampstand, so those who enter can see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your vision isclear, your whole body also is full of light. But when it is poor, yourbody is full of darkness. Be careful, then, that the light within you is not darkness.…
Thank you for all that information. This was a very nicely done video 🙌🏼
$1600 a month new house 4 bedrooms two bath in a very nice neighborhood in Fresno ca ✌🏽
800 a month 1 entire state in Alabama
$8 Million dollars a week for a box in London, UK ✌️ 😂
I'm thinking about moving to LA in the future for now I'm just 14 I'm so excited
Currently living in Orange County and this is confirming I need to gtfo
This was very informative! You explained everything in a nice and clear way, thank you so much for this. I love it!!
Believe- 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and is a rewarder of them that diligent seek him.
Yuo believe with the heart of mind. Not the heart that. Pumps the blood though your vein ,brain. What you study with.
The slumlords and high-profiteering landlords in Los Angeles are neither gods nor saints, or do they give a damn about anyboy's bible nonsense beliefs. Being enslaved by cowardly BS people is hell for poor parents and their children.
Hey I lived most of my life in New York City couple of years in Florida came back to New York City but you know what I want to try out La for a couple of years thanks a lot for your info babe❤❤❤
But LA is my dream City😍 I lovvvvvvve the West!😍
LOL I remember watching this a few years back thinking $1500/month for an apartment was expensive but now I’m living in Tampa (not even LA, not even NY) and paying almost 2k for my own studio in a safe area. Crazy how things change
I have thought about moving to LA after college because there seems to be so much more opportunity than where I live in Michigan! I have heard multiples times that people see celebrities walking around and it’s no big deal. I just have a hard time believing people don’t ask for pictures or anything. How much truth is there to this?
Yea I’ve definitely seen celebrities around, I never ask for a picture haha it’s generally just not a huge deal!
I'm from Michigan and moved her, but I lived in shadier areas you'll survive if you do that. I live in the valley now and it's nice. You do see celebs around usually no one bothers them because they're home, but I did see Miley outside Granville Restaurant like a month back and someone did get a photo with her so it does happen.
it's expensive af as someone who has been born and raised in LA.. you need to have back up plan tbh just stay in Michigan, it is cheaper.
Why do you care? I'm curious
If your still in school I recommend you apply for internships in LA to see if you like it over the summer 👍 or apply to jobs in LA while you are still in school that way you have a job lined up. There are many areas to live in “LA County” 😉 besides what was mentioned
I'm planning on moving to LA after college so this was really helpful. Thanks Shelby!
i dont ever plan to move to LA but did pay super close attention watching this video ahaha
Move to downtown San Diego or ocean beach or Pacific beach,or oceanside, ca or Carlsbad, ca great cities in California
why did i waste ur time watching this then... yea stay far away from La
Thank you for this informative video! Love you so much , Shelby! Stay smiling!😊💕
You totally skipped over the valley. Isn’t that still LA? Lol
The Valley has its perks. Only downside is the heat (always 5-10 degrees warmer than the rest of LA).
She didn't mention every part of la
La is awesome so its not gonna be cheap, everyone wants to live there
