This was fun to watch as another Personal Finance YT. I used to live in LA, and it ruined me and built me. haha You learn the true meaning of hustling.
Great content . Tennessee still affordable. I paid off a home in FL . But I am not as young as you guys. My kids who are same age as you guys - I worry for and hope home prices crash so they can afford to buy a home
I know you just moved to LA but can you eventually do a video comparing LA to San Diego and what you like about both and what you don't like and were you would rather live
I’ll help you out: San Diego: dirty ass bums who will try to rob you….. Los Angeles: TRAFFIC and more bums, beaches with bums in tents 🏕️ and risk of being robbed, harassed….. There Ya Go.
My partner and I switched to Mint about a year and a half ago. It's fantastic! He has 4gb/month and I have 10gb/month and I only went over once, but it was only $5 to get a few more gbs of data. It's been really simple and great!
I've been living in Los Angeles (solo) for about 10 years, and right outside of Downtown for the past 6. I just got priced out of my current place and am on the hunt for something I can afford comfortably, that also allows me to save for my big goals. My ideal price range definitely comes with a lot of compromises that I didn't have to forfeit in my past hunts. Rent here has been extra terrible these past 2-3 years!
$4200 is a good deal because it barely covers the mortgage, property tax, HOA fees and insurance of a $600K condo, and in downtown LA, $600K is the price of a 1 br/1bath condo. You are getting 2 br/2bath for $4200.
Yes and many people miss this point. To have a $4k mortgage/all-in housing payment on a 2+2 in a desirable area you’d have to put about $200k+ down and then pay about 1x the orig cost of the home in interest over the course of the loan. $3200 in a nanny is nuts though. Her and dude must make very good $. Good vid overall
Thanks for sharing! $4200 for rent in LA isn't unheard of, and from what I know as someone who lives in the Inland Empire, $4000 rent usually gives you a nice, comfortable and safe apartment. Unfortunately rent in SoCal is insanely expensive and most people can't afford that alone. Hopefully something can be done with these rising rent prices soon.
The rent surprises me a bit since it’s almost comparable to New York. But kudos to both of you for putting the daughter first and getting the quality daycare for her despite the high expense.
OK for for those of them that are watching the video and saying “ WOW! It’s so expensive to live in LA” well we ain’t in Kansas no more! “ no pun intended to your home city” LA is a world city truly a magnificent landscape. Yes it’s gotten overcrowded in the last 20 years because transplants want to live here to pursue their careers and dreams ect. But if the state and businesses small and big we’re not so greedy LA would be much more affordable for the average family and person.
On my 1st day to LA, I got tricked into an alley way to clean someone shoes for $20. Next thing you know, I woke up naked with a hooker number written on my forehead. I’m not going to LA again. Anyways, great content ❤

I would say for someone who lives in another expensive part of California -- Bay Area -- this is pretty reasonable. We live about an hour from SF and still, everything is so dang expensive.

Nice breakdown. Maybe I should do one about OC. Thanks for sharing.
Very interesting information. What do you both do for a living?
Hey thanks for sharing. I used to live in Claremont Mesa. LA is just expensive. I live near USC / South Central.

That's a great video idea!
3:20 why do you have to worry about keeping your data usage low if you have an unlimited data plan?
It all depends on your income! 7k/m is reasonable if you make 200k !

I live in LA,too..I wonder which city you live. Your electricity and gas bills are much lower than ours. We are a family of 3,too..
you should see if they have a Walmart with a grocery store, they are the cheapest I found in my area
We don't have a lot of Walmarts in LA. It's target land here.
Okay how much are both your income? That would define your rent affordability

There are a lot of free things to do in LA. And with the weather easy to do free things outside with kids.
What is the total thoygh?
If you like the the Getty Museum you should check out the Getty Villa.
I saw that! How is it different than the museum?
Is there any cheap rent anymore? Of course I can’t live alone. I need roommates
Why did you move to LA? Are you staying long term?
She did a video on it. Husband got a job and it's temporary
They'll be there for a year until her husband gets transferred to Colorado
Surprised you guys left SD,
I love SD, don’t see myself anywhere else.
Good luck being broke

I don't care how much it is ... I wanna know why California is so expensive . Not how expensive it is .

People in LA should really consider investing in Greenbank Capital lol
