Let me know what you think of the new filming format and if you'd like to see me tackle Legolas and Gimli too!
The War Gamer I would pay to see the whole Fellowship painted by you!
i would like to check how you save legolas face!
The model isn’t bad, it’s just the paint job. The Hobbit plastic Legolas on the other hand has eaten a bit too much cake.
I like it! I want to see gimli and legolas
Yesssss!
Very professionally done. High photographic values. Clear audio. Unobtrusive backdrop. Seamless edit. And the paint job wasn't bad either! Great work as always.
Thanks, I've tried out a few new things in this video so I'm glad they seem to be working out 😀
Legolas and Gimli PLZ
This is a great tutorial. I haven't painted in around 16 years and I appreciate how you talk about how to mix the paints and how many coats etc.
What a beast! Good job, man! Beautiful painting. :)
Great painting! It really looks good and the detail painting brings it to life. Thanks for sharing this.
You're welcome, thanks for commenting.
Love your videos. Could you do some more tutorials for the pelennor fields starter set? Maybe the Mordor Troll or Riders of Rohan. Keep up the good work.
Beautifully done. Have to start work assembling mine !
Good luck!
Awesome video on arguably the best sculpt out of the new 3. I say arguably because that Gimli is too cool.
The kit is very very nice.
Great video. Always enjoy all your tutorials.
I'm glad to hear it, better keep making them then!
Awesome job, thank you for sharing.
Amazing skill! Learned so much by looking at your videos! Thanks so much :)
Fantastic as normal and yes please on Gimli and Legolas
That was a really fantastic job you did on the miniature. Aragorn is my most favorite character.😁 I actually have a Darkstar miniature paint called Graphite, I'm gonna use it to paint Aragorn's sword Anduril. It'll allow the sword to glow bright like it does in the book. I'm really excited to paint him when I got him.😃😃 I'm gonna thoroughly enjoy painting him.
Thank you so much! Can't wait to paint him now!
Good luck!
Thats looks so stunning and you do it so simple would like to see Gimli and Legolas too. And maybe also the Gandalf the White and Peregrin Took on the horse :)
Legolas & Gimli and as many other Middle-earth minis as you can please! :)
Really brilliant result. Your previous LOTR tutorials were a massive help to me, and I would love if you would do more. Legolas and Gimli for sure, but also some of the other new releases perhaps. For example, the new Gandalf the White and Peregrine Took models 😄
I've got some ideas for how I could tackle Gandalf actually
wow so good wish i had miniatures like that
great work on the face, love the glazing technique there
Thanks :D
You always provide great tutorials.
Thanks :D
Love the video dude... also learnt some new techniques from this.
The only problem i have is that GW have discontinued glazes, so is there another method for the elven cloak - to give it that green hue?
Looks excellent. Great job. You definitely need to follow up with Gimli and Legolas now. ;)
Great video! This set looks so much better than the original. Never liked Aragorn in that set.
Great video and awesome tutorial. How long until the other 2 come?
Bro, after the fantastic video and paint job on Aragorn it is now your civic duty to release videos for Legolas and Gimli!
Awesome
I would love a painting guide to the forgeworld "iron hills goat riders" from the hobbit range :) awsome job!
Awesome video as always! Will you be doing tutorials for Legolas & Gimli? 😁
Awesome video! Do more middle earth paintings!
Wonderful painting job 👍 I like, I love.... I subscribe to your channel 😎
Awesome! Do Chaos Warriors!
I could definitely use more Lord of the rings tutorials
I would very much like to see you painting the new gandalf the white on shadowfax miniature. You are such a pro painter
Please do a morannon orc or some of the new orc heroes! i really need som help :D
Any chance of a tutorial showing how to paint the Gloomspite Gitz endless spells or anything else Gloomspite Gitz related? So glad I found your channel - you have a new subscriber.
I would absolutely love to see Legolas and Gimli, as well as Gandalf the White!
😊very nice
Thank you for the tutorial! The paint job is beautiful and it was very well done. Could you also please create a tutorial for Legolas and Gimli?
Yep that's the plan!
Cool!
Really good mini ! What are you using for the palette ? And i painting my High Elves, and for the cloak i want to have some satin effect which is more metallic than typicals fabrics, so do i just need to put some silver on the edges ? :)
What would be an alternative way to paint the cape now? As I can't get hold of the paint used in this video? Cheers.
Well done and impressive to find someone who doesn’t slab nuln oil over everything! I find the warhammer tutorials too wash oriented wish makes the mini look way to dark
How do you get the base coat to be so even and smooth? mine always looks splotchy and coarse whether i do 1 coat or 5?
Great vid
Thanks!
whats the grey primer called? whats the best aerosol grey to use for citidel minature?
I´d love to get back into painting but i wanna do some ranger of the lord of the rings. cant find any paint video online though... not on your list by any chance?:)
Good video
Interessting to see that someone uses Lahmian Medium as a glaze / layer thinner. Is the surface tension of the mix not hindering you? Or is your wet palette filled with a thinner / water mix? Anyway the end result is beautiful and the matte effect of the lahmian medium works quite well with the flowing cape and tunic.
Dude should get paid for advertisement of Lamian Medium like seriously lol here it used so much it gets somewhat jarring. How many pots of it do you even keep around at one time? Great tutorial btw. Legolas and Gimli plz
i know its a very old video and thank you as i have just used it but i am sure someone else pointed out that the loren forest highlight you mention is actually tagged sotek green haha
Man! You really love your Lahmian Medium, don't you?
Good beard
fantastic, pls legolas and gimli tutorial!
People seem to be liking this so there is a good chance I will.
@@PeteTheWargamer when pete...when lol
Hi Pete, cheers for another savage painting video, may I ask what Airbrush primer you used? Is it a blend of black and white? Or is a specific colour? It’s almost the same colour as Mechanicus Standard Grey, I have been using Valejo Grey but it’s very light in colour, more like a white.
Thanks again
I use a mixture of Vallejos Black and Grey Primers. Their grey primer is closer to white than grey so I use a roughly 5 part grey to 1 part black to get that dark grey colour you see in the video. I also add a dash of airbrush thinner as well to make it a little easier to spray.
Thanks mate, I will definitely be doing some mixing soon
I've painted Theoden and Aragorn with your tutorial
It was really nice. Thank you
I hope you'll tackle Legolas and Gimli too!!
I'm hoping to do so, just give me a little time :D
Is there a way to get the old bases? I loved the square bases.
Yep, just google 20mm Square bases (or whatever size you need) and plenty pop up for sale.
Looks really good. But one thing confuses me. After using Castelan green for the coat you said that you used Loren Forest, but on the screen it shows Sotek green (4:05). Which is the right color? 🙃
Good spot! It should be Loren Forest, Sotek Green would result in a very strange looking coat 😂
Hi again. I've not got round to starting Aragorn yet, but I just wanted to say that I've used your technique for the Elven Cloak on the new Peregrin Took model and I love the outcome. I've been looking for a simpler way to achieve the right colour without mixing loads of paints, and this works brilliantly. The only addition I added was having a watered down Nuln Oil in the creases and folds of the cloak before using the Dawnstone. But that's only because Pippin cloak has a lot more deeper creases and folds than Aragorn and it gives it a bit more depth. Thanks again for this great, simple colour palette ☺
I'm glad to hear that you've been able to apply the technique to other miniatures! I try to avoid mixing paints where possible as it's quite difficult to properly convey the correct ratios to mix paints in a video such as this. Luckily GW have a lot of paints to choose from them and things like glazes can help to adjust hues where necessary.
Legolas and gimil would he so damn helpful
May I please ask what you are putting the paint on?
The primer? I use a black and grey vallejo airbrush primer mixture to give me the dark grey you see here.
Oh, I actually meant if you put the paint on regular paper? In the video, it reminded me of patty paper but I wasn’t sure...
@@kodomorodriguez8383 it looks like a wet palette. Probably with greaseproof paper or parchment paper
Saucy Trash Thank you!
Is it common to not paint in the eyes?
It varies. Some people do, some people don't. I was once told that if a full size human stood sufficiently far away from you to be perceived as the same height as a mini held at arms length, then you wouldn't see their eyes either. Which is why they can often come across as 'cartoonish' unless done really well.
Is that really Castellan Green? My pot is a much darker color than that.
Paint more orcs, please? :D
Please do gimli and Legolas, there are no good tutorials and I'm not skilled enough to do a paintjob only with pictures :(
agree
Please sell this to me LOL
These are the worst to assemble😩
I found them fairly easy, just do plenty of dry fits before applying glue so you know what connects to where.
Also I can't stress how important it is to leave them in sub assemblies for painting.
i dont think anyone knows how annoying this actually is, why not come out with a set of Painted figures aleady colored? its so tedious painting figures this small...let alone painting regardless...
