Excellent. Thank you. Hopefully you will continue to make more Middle Earth miniatures tutorials.
I hope so too, I got into wargaming via the LotR strategy battle game so I would love to do more!
@The War gamer Can you do the Nazgul and Fellbeast? :D
@@PeteTheWargamer Please do, I'm getting into LotR with my son and would love to see more tutorials on anything from Gondor through Elves to Orcs :) Thank you!
I am really happy to see a lotr miniature on a RUclips channel. I am a big fan of your painting tutorials and I really hope to see more lotr miniatures on your channel in the future!
More on the way!
Superb model and paintjob. Really glad LOTR is getting some extra love.
Your videos are the easiest to follow and as someone new to this I LOVE that you list the paints in the description so I can buy them easily. I bought the battle of pelennor fields set and love it
Ive watched your work over the years and bought the silver tower about 3 years back. Your videos helped me get back into the hobby. It's good to see that uour line work has improved immensely and this paint job is top shelf, even without the competition level flourish. Well done and thanks for the content and the inspiration to get back into this wonderful hobby.
Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad that you've been able to find my tutorials helpful.
Really nice painting! Thanks for sharing this.
You're very much welcome
Amazing work :) really easy to follow.
Excellent as usual. Thanks!
Love all of your tutorials! I'm using this one to do theoden myself, so thanks for the great guide :D

This is amazing! May you please show us how to paint a 1813-1815 Prussia line infantry or landwehr
Amazing paint job
Thanks :D
Soooo good!
Wow, your paint job looks better than the official.
Haha thanks. I spent a lot of time pouring over film stills and prop photos to get the colours right.
So fricking good! God, now I wanna buy the box)
Good model well painted.
Awesome video, thanks so much. One question - can I have some advice on how you get such a clean and smooth undercoat on? Mine always look a bit patchy. Thanks!
I LOVE your videos man. They’ve helped me so much. Please can you do a Black Coach from Age of Sigmar?
Excellent paint job and tutorial. Thank you for sharing. Out of curiosity, do you paint all your Rohan miniatures in a similar way (e.g. grey primer and similar technique for browns)?
Awesome like always. I hope you do more Middle Earth paints!. Thanks!!!!
Good looking model
great work!
Amazing!!
brilliant !!! please paint all of the different units in the box ( if possible) !!! Top notch !!
I would love to do all of the contents but I'll do my best to cover as much as possible.
I do understand . At least please try to some main models . cheers
Beautiful 👍
Great work, Wish you can paint an azog
Terrific video.
Awsome tutorial!. Would love to see more of Lotr tutorials !
More to come!
Please make more tutorials of the minis from the boxed game! I vote Nazgul and troll next!
Can't wait to see mors LOTR videos from you! What grass tufts did you use on you base?
You can pick them up from the Army Painter
This tutorial is awesome, would love to see the basing tutorial for this model and the riders and warriors of Rohan please.
When I do the next mini from that set I will film my basing process too
Can you make a basing tutorial for your Rohan bases?
Sure thing :D
Westfold and Pelenor?
Great tutorial! Very clear and concise. Looks like one of the front hooves has some stray paint on it?
I know haha. Typically I only noticed that I'd over split with my dry brush after I'd uploaded the video D: It's all fixed now though!
Wonderful
Brilliant work mate, glad to see a lotr painting guide! If you plan on doing more, might I suggest a Gandalf the white guide?
I'm hoping to see a plastic version of him like this Theoden, if they release one I'll paint him!
@@PeteTheWargamer And now they have ;)
Can you do the Nazgul and Fellbeast? :D
Yes!!
@@BernardoSSimoes Here you go ruclips.net/video/bOGaokIWx34/видео.html
Please do more!
Will do
I'm a fan of the old school bases for fantasy Warhammer and The Lord of the Rings
Awesome painting video as always, any chance you might do the Troll as well?
That sounds like a cool idea!
Any chance for an army painter paint conversion video?
Great video! Any more middle earth miniatures tutorials planned for the future?
Yeh I've got a few on my desk primed and ready ;)
Very handy paint guide Pete. Just got into MESBG. I was wanting to ask what your paint guide would be basing for Rohan miniatures?
Any news for when your be putting the Rohan warrior's tutorial up? :)
Hello!!!! Can you make a tutorial for the new Eomer??
Damn good!!
Please bring these MESBG tutorials back!
Please, continue to do more Middle Earth related tutorials! Amazing work!!
An Aragorn painting guide is in the works!
The War Gamer, thank you! That’s going to be great to see!
The Balrog... would be amazing to see, the fire and shadow.
That would be great
Awesome video! although I will like to know when the ETA for the starter box and the miniatures? in september? Because right now those are only available for pre order :/
Everything is due out on the 1st September :)
tyvm for letting me know :)
Looks fantasic 👍 which brush do you use? the one from army painter?
Windsor Newton Series 7 Size 1: amzn.to/2vPzhyA
Excellent work as always - looks great while using a more limited pile of paints than the GW scheme does. Any particular reason for GW paints this time round rather than Army Painter?
Actually, just realised that many of your previous GW tutorials have used GW paints - I'd only ever watched your Bolt Action ones in the past, so thought Army Painter was always what you used... so it's not something new after all.
Yeh I use Citadel for Warhammer miniatures and Army Painter for everything else. In my experience, most people who collect Warhammer tend to use Citadel paints whereas those who play other games often use different manufacturers.
Oopsie. Missed a spot on the horses hoof there - maybe an accidental dip? ;P
Looks fantastic!
Yeh it was when I was dry brushing the base. Typically I only noticed after the video had been uploaded! It's all fixed now though :)
Which Vanish do you use? Because i figure which Vanish i should use for Warhammer troops to not unenhance the métal?
I use some of the Army Painters Anti-Shine Matt Varnish in an airbrush but they do a good spray can version
Plz make more lord of the rings painting tutorials.
Well I am currently assembling a Fell Beast
awesome. Can you ell me where you got the figure?
Stovall Holmes you can only get it in the battle for pellenor fields boxed set which is available for pre-order on games workshops web store
More Middle Earth tutes would be amazeballs dude ;) Fell beast perhaps?
I'm currently building one ;)
The War Gamer no excuse then ;)
The War Gamer also a decent warrior and rider of rohan tute would actually make my year lol ;)
like number 600! whooop whooop
How do you attach parts to the wire so you can get them off after?
Here you go: ruclips.net/video/9jrikxFVqOM/видео.html
What texture paint did you use for the base?
Vallejo Dark Earth Texture if I recall correctly.
Is there a link to his wet palette that I'm not seeing?
Chris G I believe he is using the everlasting wet palette from Red Grass Games: www.redgrassgames.com
ROHIRRIM!
can you do more lotr
Will do!
How much time did it take you to finish Theoden?
If I take off the filming time, probably about 6 hours from sprue to finished spread out over three days.
What’s the benefits of doing an undercoat before painting the miniature?
A couple of reasons. First, a primer changes the surface of the model and allows the paint to adhere properly and not rub off. Secondly, it gives you an even colour to work from, some plastics can vary in shade and using a primer will make all your miniatures uniform before you being painting.
Pete The Wargamer thanks
why aren't heroes made of metal anymore?
I think a big part is customer preference, many people prefer plastic and another aspect is the move towards CAD. A lot of the old metal minis were hand sculpted, some times in three times the size, before being down scaled and cast.
@@PeteTheWargamer I have minis from 2000's, when the movies were released and also The Hobbit era minis. Did they change de scale? Because I have Dunedain and some uruks that are a little bit larger in scale than for example Gondor or Rohan warriors (but just a minimum scale factor lol).
Don't want to piss on your bonfire, but Snowmane (that's the horse) was of the same breed as Shadowfax, one of the Mearas, they wouldn't tolerate saddle or bridle, much less armour.
The model is wrong.
Paint job is nice though :)
Haha take it up with Peter Jackson, I just paint the things :P
@@PeteTheWargamer LOL, I'll track him down now on twitter and yell at him till I'm blocked.
Have a good weekend. 😀
oh my god that seam line on the underside of the horse looks horrendous, you should really fill it in with some putty
