This video reviews content from the Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game formerly known as Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game and The Hobbit Strategy Battle Game. MESBG is a skirmish style war game developed by Games Workshop, based off the incredible artwork from the three films by Peter Jackson as well as drawing inspiration directly from the books. Players take control of the forces of good and evil and play out epic moments from the Lord of the Rings in anything from small heroes driven scenarios to epic battles utilising hundreds of models. "Gothmog on Eowyn action" is something that I've never heard uttered before and something I never want uttered again.
Hahahahaha
Really loving the book :) watching this while painting my Three Hunters and your enthusiasm is certainly contagious! Time to check out some more content.
Thanks buddy that's awesome :D hope you enjoy what you find 😂
Greatest quote ever... "LOOK AT GIMLIS BEARD!!"
brillaint video, really energetic and fun too watch. your videos always get me hyped to go buy lotr!
Excellent video!
Hahahaha thanks Martin glad I could hype you up :)
Excellent video, love it. We did a massive round table review yesterday too (we give you a shout out in part three at around the 45 min mark) and afterwards I was so hyped I went back and watched all your Gondor related terrain vids again (must be the 10th time ive watched them now lol.
Aww thaanks buddy!! I actually just started watching while I experiment with new lists using the new profiles, I'll have to keep my ears tuned for the mention :D :D
Love your stuff as always dude, brilliant energy and enthusiasm and it's great to see someone so pumped for the new stuff. I can't wait myself, planning on taking Gothmog's Legion and Return of the King forces to the UK GT so furiously painting Morannons! - Damian
Thanks brother
Brilliant video full of energy and enthusiasm congrats
Cheers Captain!
Just wanted to say, I've never played any of these LOTR tabletop games (though I play a lot of D&D and other non-mini board games) but I'm a big Tolkien fan and your channel is a total delight to have on. I particularly enjoy the terrain tutorials as it's something I've always been wanting to try, especially after watching the Trilogy making-of docos as a kid. Might someday find folks in Sydney to play these games with. Cheers for the enthusiastic content!
Thanks so much Matt that's so awesome to hear really glad you're enjoying the content!! If you do decide to get into sbg Sydney has a really vibrant community full of great players definitely a great place to play! The making of documentaries were also the first thing that got me really inspired as a kid to certainly began the hype train for me!
It’s really hard to find people in Texas haha
@@michaelvillemez1034 have you tried to
Reaching out to people through the American Strategy Battle Game Alliance?
More Middle Earth SBG goodies is always awesome! Looking forward to your Gondor at War campaign. Maybe invite Jacob that was at Arda Unleashed to join you. He was very enthusiastic and spoke well in front of the camera. Ori is great too. Keep up the good work!
Thanks buddy! Yeah we'll definitely get a few of the boys in to help Tom and I out, going to be epic!
Great review, and with a promise to play all of them on Your spectacular boards. That's something to wait for.
Haha thanks man! 1st one should be up in super soon so stay tuned :D
Ha ha! "I'm not playing this with a normal deck of cards. That's disgusting!" My thoughts exactly!
Haha it would be epic!!
All of this looks awesome. Seems like I picked a good time to start playing the game
You sure did Elk, you sure did :D
2021...wish i had bought in before i got into ASOIAF.
I’m hoping to get an updated Gamling
model. Maybe?
That would be super cool!
have you done one of these for the necromancer supplement ? keep up the good work :D
If you like the Dunedains you could make a gaming board of Annuminas. Of course after the Minas Tirith. 😁
Oooooh yeah that would be epic! My next competitive list after Rohan will be Strider, Gandalf and dunedain leading shire folk I think :)
Dude! I am stoked! I plan on buying that set when I get some money. I gotta ask, if you’re allowed to share this information, is there a scenario on Pelennor with Aragorn, Éomer, and Imrahil? I’ve always wanted a scenario that recreates the battle from the book. I love the movies, but the books are better, in my opinion. I’m also really excited that they’re adding dual mounting and more Rohan commanders. 😁😁
Ooooooh yeah let me check!! The Grief of Eomer is a redseign of an old scenario with Eomer on a hill going crazy and Imrahil riding in to rescue him, but that's before Aragorn arrives in this scenario/campaign so he isn't there yet :)
@@Zorpazorp Oooh sweet! That's the one I wanted to play! Now I'm more than triple stoked to get that book! Thanks for letting me know about that! I'm so hyped now! XD
@@JaredLB1990 all good brother :)
Also I think it would be cool if warhammer did hbo’s game of thrones, Ik they have ice and fire miniatures but the models from the tv shows would be epic what do you think?
That would be pretty awesome! I really miss their old fantasy line so that would be sweeet.
That Gimli looks badass!!!!
Yeah he's a little tank! I can't get over the axes!!!
Welcome back to Twin Peaks
Thanks bro :D
Thank you. Can you indicate the amount and type of units you need to enjoy these scenarios? Roughly.
Hey dude! Lots of models for the whole campaign but each scenario isn't too bad. The Osgiliath ones are a combination of Rangers and Warriors of Minas Tirith, and Mordor Orcs with Captains and the usual good heroes. Then stuff starts to upscale with trolls, morannon etc etc. Best way would be to follow along as we do the campaign will go through the participants' of each scenario in detail in each Battle Report the first one should be up in a couple of days :)
Have you ever been to Warhammer World in Nottingham UK?
Nice vid. Liking that three hunters set
The price is extortionate though. £25 for 3 plastic miniatures? You can buy a box of 48 Victrix minis for that.
@@shaundaly1134 It is steep that is true but I don't even care. I'm just happy to be getting any releases. Still a cheaper hobby than many others haha. Also these models are worth like 450pts in game or something, and GW have always priced based off that to prevent high model count armies being more expensive to play.
I like your videos a lot, they actually got me into lotr sbg, although my painting skills are absolute shit haha but I’ll get better, have you thought of making Rivendell? Not my favorite castle but it would be really cool to see what you would do next
Thanks so much Michael!! I love hearing when I've inspired people to get into sbg that makes me so excited. I'll definitely do Rivendell one day my eventual plan is to have a board for every place in Middle Earth but it's a bit far down the production line got so much other stuff lined up haha :D
Wow. Nice fig ! But i prefer the older model.
Yeah I love the old three hunters too, and nothing beats breaking of the fellowship Aragorn.
@@Zorpazorp Yes it's true. I like this aragorn too.
@@Lagrange.yohann Yeah he's certainly dynamic!
@@Zorpazorp Talking about this guys, do you know where the h*** I could find the old Three Hunters box ? I'm desperately looking for the bow shooting Aragorn model but can't find it...
@@maxclaisse9331 it's exclusive to the Warhammer World store in Nottingam I'm pretty sure :)
Could you tell me where you bought the miniatures ?
He bought them at his local games workshop.
@@yogummler thank you but i thought tha games workshop had stopped the production of lotr n hobbit miniatures years ago .
@@georgetsaki9576 They Released a new Rule Book under the name of "Middle Earth SBG" in last August. They're basically re-making the whole game.
@@georgetsaki9576 Nope, production of LotR and Hobbit never stopped, just slowed, now it's back in full swing baby!!!
Really , i am glad to hear it !
Thank u for answering !
ELFHELM!!!!!!!!
DUUUUUUDE THE HYPE IS REALLLLLL
