@@MrGamelover23 Ooh are we talking about the Catholic Church and its long standing history of corruption that would’ve had Jesus doing the bread and fish trick with whips?
It's also great because "And also with you" is an oft used phrase in the Anglican church (the Church of England), so it makes sense why that line would come so immediately to Fleabag's mind, as that is more ingrained in English culture than Catholicism is. Just another interesting layer to PWB's fantastically layered writing!
@Jennifer Roma that would be grate also think that even though he said he loved her he scared to love her because he might go back to who he was before he became a priest and that scares him more then anything. im hoping that he wake up to realize that he need her in his life ( if they do another season)
The way I see it, its the portrayal of their romance. I personally don't think there's anything more romantic than this. Basically shows how perceptive, how sensitive he is towards her.
sorry, but the best bits are missing: 1. Where did you just go? (him realizing her breaking the fourth wall constantly) 2. Don't say Father like it doesn't turn you on every time you say it. 3. Kneel. 'nuff said
_charlotte_xo , you mean you find the priest in the serial to be hot ?...Yes?....Well then ,i find the actor , Andrew Scott to be incredibly handsome and hot if i may add, thank you very much!!!......
The show did a wonderful job showing his humanity, yet left so much to explore (which I suppose was on purpose). His mother was originally a lesbi(cut scene), he didn't get along with her (but won't answer why), when he's at Fleabag apartment he starts saying "when I was a child..." only to get interrupted by the doorbell, we know he didn't always want to became a priest, but not how he discovered his vocation, etc. A truly intriguing and fascinating character.
Tbh when he asked her in first episode what was that she does, that is one of my favourite moments, as a whole lot of them sitting by the table are turned towards themselves. No one bothers to talk to Fleabag, like she is invisible or they pretend she is. When Priest asks her, its like he sees her.
I honestly just want to have an entire 10 seasons of interaction between Fleabag and the Priest - especially when he catches her talking to the camera!
@@ivornworrell she's the star of the show and also the creator and writer, Phoebe Waller-Bridge. She's also a playwright, this show was originally a play of hers.
although I love ANY interaction between the two, I keep running back to his slight jealousy when he sees her talking to harry, his reaction to her defensively hinting for him to leave the cafe and how it possibly steered him toward a bottle that day, when she jokes she'd go up to 3 children with him before they settle on 2, and when she asks "what, we can't even wrestle?" I adore this show...
.... No he doesn't, he was out of focus, why would they give him something that significant to do and blur his face at the same time? Stop seeing things that aren't there.
I keep reading people's questions about why the priest detected Fleabag breaking the four wall and I think it's pretty simple. Phoebe gave us the key on her SNL monologue it's because he listens her, really listens her. And for me that says a lot of the character and it makes sense, also it has a beautiful meaning.
reading the comments made me feel so much better, i thought i was the only one having unholy thoughts and feelings about their interactions, especially THAT Kneel’ scene...

Love the series but, at the risk of seeming nerdy, in the first scene he seems to be wearing his vestments - the chasuble - the wrong way round. The side with cutaways for the arms is meant to be at the front.
