I like the zero 9, I moved from Australia to Malaysia so I can get one really cheap here. But my issue is worrying about the rain, because it gets heavy in KL. The ninebot max/F40 are IPx5 but they only have a 350w motor. I might end up going inokim ox if I wanna spend a bit more
@@BrendanHemmings yeah that's what I'm worried about with zero 9. They have the ninebot scooters here for hire, they leave them out in the street here on heavy rain, I know it's not recommended but they seem to survive. I'd never leave mine outside I'm just worried about getting caught in the rain on the way home and having to walk it home in the rain. I did just discover monorims, they have a 48v 500w motor and front/rear suspension so you can modify the Ninebot max, I just need to find someone to do it for me as I don't have a shed with tools here.
Hi Brendan, thanks for the in-depth comparison. Re Falcon PEV, any concerns re zero’s not having this UL2272 compliance that they mention they don’t have for Singapore requirements. Wouldn’t Australia have the same stringent requirement? Am also in Bne and toying with the Zero8 or Zero9 however i don’t have commuting requirements like yourself just weekend messing about so thinking the 8 would suffice. Did you go for any of the accessories like key ignition/voltmeter, immobiliser or trolley wheels options?
Brendan Hemmings ok but questioning rather if there is a safety risk of the charger igniting as found in Singapore that brought in a change to this certification.
@@glennwilliams9941 I've not seen any reports of Zero scooters catching fire, and I frequent as lot of Facebook groups and did a lot of research on them on the internet and didn't come across and fires.
@@glennwilliams9941 I don't think there is a problem with Zero scooters with the certification, it is just a matter of paying the money and getting it certified. I was looking at buying a Zero 10 X in October/November last year, it wasn't certified at that time but it got certified near the end of November. The Mantis I have right now wasn't certified late last year but it is now certified. Between 8 and 9 I would go for a 9 because it has better suspension, better brakes and to pneumatic tyres means better ride comfort.
I'm thinking of making a similar upgrade atm, I have a Xiaomi 1s, nothing wrong with it just wish it had a bit more power, the zero 9 is very tempting, did you think about the e-twow booster GT 2020?
Interesting, I went from M365 to Zero 8. I bought my M365 2.5 yrs ago and bought my Zero 8 one yr ago. How long does it take for you to fully charge Zero 9? Also, have you had any flats yet?
Why'd you go with Falcon PEV? Just had the best sale on at the time? Got any other recommended retailers? I'm on the edge of buying a zero 9 for my brissy commute, any changed opinions after a couple months of riding it? Cheers mate
The sale was quite special, but even when there is no sale Falcon PEV are several hundred cheaper than anyone else - they are the creators of the product.
@@BrendanHemmings Sorry, bro. What I wanted to ask is the height of the total handlebar (from the base of the scooter to where you grip). I bought a zero 9 and returned it. m365 is perfect, lightweight, I don't go fast. zero 9 is bulky and acceleration is violent, throws you back and the throttle is confusing next to the right break, the right breaks good, the left not so much. I use m365 as a walking aid and mostly go on sidewalks in urban area, zero 9 was way too big and bulky for this. If you are going very long distances in pot filled roads than maybe zero 9 is better but for low speed 7-9 mph urban commuting, m365 is way better imho ... they need to come up with an m365 with good suspension, LED side lighting and split rims, brake light also is crap and wire tears, maybe one with 10 inch tires but not such a huge battery pack like the ninebot max, sucks that the m365 pro is not sold in US, I would pay $1000 bucks for an improved scooter with these extra things included, don't need a speed monster either or huge battery
I don't think they are mounted incorrectly. The video is reversed, but that should't make them appear installed reversed. Nope, the internal diameter is different. I have had some success with using M365 tubes even though the M365 stems stay inline rather than pointing outward like they do on a Zero 9. You can get away with a M365 45 degree on the front of Zero, but will struggle on the rear. The Zero rear really needs 90 degree pointing outwards.
Yes, big difference and one of the reasons for an upgrade, although at the expense of consuming power. If you have a lot of hills on your journey, you may wish to consider if you have enough battery capacity. A year on I'm chasing a bit more grunt again and going with a Kaabo Mantis Dual or Dual Pro.
I legit started with a m365 the same colour and now i got the zero 9.The top speed difference is crazy
You are the best
so i want to get one, which is better for comfort and, i like speed?
Looking forward to watching this tonite mate...

Water resistant scooters are not at suitable grade for heavy rain. You will eventually get water ingress to motors and controllers electronics.

No issues with the law enforcement here in Brisbane. No accessories.

I agree with Brendan, e scooters are legal in qld but you can only drive them on the road at a max speed of 25km/hr

Hi, Zero 9 is a lot wider which makes it more stable. Hard to go back to a 365 due to this.

Is zero 8&9 speed capped to 25km in australia?
I imported mine from Falcon PEV, not caped. Local sellers tend not to limit speeds on any brands. Easy to remove limit on a Zero anyway.
