I haven't finished playing FP2 yet, but I feel the same. The music doesn't quite measure up to the standard of the first game's OST (and especially not to this track). I've also been looking for fan remixes of Freedom Planet music and so far, I've been underwhelmed by what I've found. Nothing measures up to the OST and remixes of this particular track have been especially crap, at least the ones I've heard.
As a person who has played two/four playthroughs, I really wish the sound effects and music of FB2 was better. But from what I heard, FB2 was about to be vapourware and struggled to exist. What I played and heard was plenty pleasant, but definitely wasn’t the same experience as Freedom Planet 1.
True. A few games seem to do this. Rocket Knights boss theme fits perfectly with the train boss. Mischief Makers fits perfectly Cerebrus Alpha etc. This theme seems to take inspiration from those.
+General Jimmies Well, isn't Sonic capable of reaching the speed of light for short periods of time? Both as Super Sonic (for a longer time) and for the light speed dash? and we can't forget his speeds of over 3,000 mph in Sonic Unleashed. I don't know much about Rainbow Dash though.
General Jimmies Many of this game's tracks remind me of songs from other games. Not just the melodies, but also the soundfonts. I hear Battle Network, X, and Sonic all over the place. This game's soundtrack is incredible.
SUCH AN AMAZING THEME! I can't decide whether I like this theme or the minor boss theme more. Also, Syntax gives off such a Gunstar Heroes Seven Force vibe, especially in Final Dreadnought 1.
Oh man, boss fights in general are my favorite things in videogames in general, and I'm glad to say that Freedom Planet delivers its bosses pretty dang well, not only in the fights itself, but the music going full "ACTION! ACTION! ACTION!" mode. I think the 2 of my favorite bosses (besides final boss I guess) were the Robopanther (Fortune Night) and the Helicopter (Jade Creek), not only because it stars the best character of this game, a.k.a funny snake man, It also shows the theme of teamwork in the middle of the fights, which is something kinda rare for these platforms imo. You usually play from stage to stage with one character but the dialog says that you all helped each other to conquer the stage challenge and you will be like "wth, no." but these two instances show the opposite of that. (also these 2 bosses are fun and fast so :D)
Kinda odd topic on this vid, but I played Impatience Chase from Azure Striker Gunvolt for the XX Zone. I thought that was fitting for the plot of the game. This song works just as well too however.
Alex McNeill its not actually too off/topic to speak myself, but anyway, this track works so well in many games, making this as awsome as ever could be.
+BlueHawkeye725 He becomes super easy to predict. Dodge the bombs then let him throw you as it does no damage, then he'll shoot and after he shoots he slashes. Those ate easily avoided, after that he dashes comes back and gives you a few free shots. Just rinse and repeat.
I love this boss music.it fits this game really well, and I hopefully if galaxy trails make another sequel of this game.I only played the demo but not the full version.
as a matter of fact, yes.the voice characters volume is a bit low on other cutscenes, but the gameplay was awesome.how about you? do you have freedom planet for wii u as well ?
Terrix Zero Sullivan I don't recall the characters ever being too quiet. A reviewer also said the voices were quiet, but nobody else has, so I think it may be a local problem. I don't have it on Wii U, but I do on PC.

I love how this boss theme gives you that feeling of:
Hey, there's a big scary thing coming your way.
Now go kick its ass.
Something this game needs is a Boss Rush!
if you put that in MY copy of freedom planet: multiply 54 by 10
54 deaths time 10.
*Pointing at bosses of game* Sometimes you just need a boss rush.
Lord Brevon: That is a good idea.
This game needs Boss Rush 🅱
ok that would be absolute hell
this goes really well with the robopanther fight, it's like it was composed for that specifically
perfect theme for a boss where you're both running through the night
Man absolute facts. When I first saw the fight with this playing in the background it all just came together

Yes, i do.
Yeah, this would be a great song for Ace attorney xD
The whole first part (up till 0:35 or so) is very reminiscent of Pursuit/Cornered, and the intro is almost lifted straight from it. XD
Everyone else when thinking about this theme: "Hey, that Robopanther boss was pretty fire!"
Me: "hehe syntax the tank engine"
"Please remain stationary during the incineration process."

Fuck nvm. Joke invalid.

You do fight Syntax with this theme playing, though - at the end of the Final Dreadnought 1.

Boss Battle theme 1. Sounds amazing!
This is the kind of jam that should be in every epic anime battle!
I’ve always seen this as Serpentines theme cause I associate this most with the robopanther and the rematch with Serpentine at Jade Creek
The soundtrack to this game is absolutely incredible. This is such a pumping boss track.
When I listened to this with my earbuds on, it sent chills down my spine. Such an exhilarating song!
The only thing FP2 dropped the ball on was the boss music
Agreed. A couple of FP2's boss tracks use a weaker remix of this song, but they never hit the same as this one.
Still can't get over the fact that the giant mantis robot sounds like a T-Rex.
