How the hell ancient people made those vases found at Serapeum, when you can't get anywhere near that precision on this "simple" project using a modern tool 😊
As for this project, it was not my intention to make it accurate or precise. But where I need to precisely fit two surfaces to one another, hand tools are often the only way to do this. Check out this video ruclips.net/video/ulZqc-BQ9dY/видео.html&ab_channel=Madeofstone And thanks for your comment
the accuracy of those vases, as well as other things like the sarcophagus at el lahun is greatly overstated. its true there are some parts that are very precise, but other angles are not. it also isn't that hard to get a precise finish if you are a skilled craftsman whose primary job is cutting, grinding, and polishing granite. its like saying that the intricate wood carvings on church doors couldn't have been done with hand tools because a modern person with a dremel can't replicate it.
...never heard of ancient Egypt huh?😂 They made vases with micron precision. Just a few MM thick. Watching the incredible amount of work this man put into this coffee cup with POWER tools gives you even more respect for the guys who did it by hand with supposedly basic copper tools
@madeofstone7619 some of those pieces from ancient Egypt are unbelievable. Seems like it would take a man his entire life working at a snails pace. Once you get down to 1/4 of an inch thick, you'd have to have some major patience to keep the vessel perfectly symmetrical and not break it or mess it up. Most of the ancient vessels are rudimentary (still amazing) but there are a few well known pieces that look like they got spun out of an alien space ships lathe 🤣 ....an offering for the primitive humans😆
This one is not for sale. I made it for myself to practice my hand polishing technique. I am thinking of making some for sale, and of course they can be made in different shapes and from different types of stone. But now, unfortunately, due to the war in my country, I am having a hard time finding a reliable way to ship my products to other countries. So at the moment, I am not selling any of my products abroad. I hope I can solve this problem soon. Thank you

I’m researching this topic to find out how ancient Egyptians made these granite vases so perfectly and yet they say they didn’t have any power tools. It doesn’t make sense and the scans show they had to be made in a single pass.
First of all, thanks for the comments and interesting question. I don’t quite understand what it means in single pass. But what I do on the channel is quite possible to do manually. It will just be very labor-intensive. For example, look at this channel www.youtube.com/@mainstonecarving
Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I don't sell anything yet. Due to the war in my country, I cannot guarantee delivery of the product to my customers. But in the future I plan to launch a website where you can purchase my products. stay tuned

@@madeofstone7619 Do you think there is anything modern powered hand tools can do, that traditional tools can't do, although much slower?

@@seankrake4776 no mate, why people insists in front of the evidence
@@madeofstone7619 not in a lifetime you would reach that precision by hand and with any of the tools you used
This deserves more views. Great job, man.
Thank you for nice words
As a semi-craftsman of many years...i absolutely love this type of instructional video.
Thanks so very much❤
thanks for your support and nice words

great job. I didn’t even think that such small details could be made from granite.
Thank you. I'm sure it can be even smaller. Stay tuned

They were spinning. Perhaps not on an alien lathe but on a lathe.😄 The Egyptians had a potter's wheel and a similar primitive lathe@@NoflectioN
Brilliant work! I would like to have a cup and a saucer 😊👍🏻
I can help with that😜
Where do i buy it? Can you use different stones to make those?

Thank you. Glad you liked it
Use a chisel and hammer surely that’ll work.
of course it will work. sculptors still use these tools today. in some cases, hand tools are still the only way to get the job done.
