Thanks
LOL that was a great video. For some one that doesn't know a thing about this. I found it very interesting and entertaining. That was a fast 46min.
Thanks glade you liked it
Different cameras can give the fish bowl look to pictures. Which can be hard to judge flat items in a picture.
Sellers just need to figure out that honesty will sell and move something faster then anything...Thanks for very informative video, Fellers!👍
Thank you for doing this video. I have learned a lot about undercarriage.
Thanks for watching
You talking with Todd is always entertaining! Very informative, great video Michael.
Thanks Tom
Todd…. Thank goodness you came by to set Mikey straight on a few things. He needs that every once in a moonpie festival or so.
With your PHD in the John Deere Underbelly University you certainly are qualified to handle my questions. Now, here goes:
In 2007 I made an Army Tank for my 1 yr old grandson. All parts were made of hard maple but the tracks. They were drive belts from a Hoover Vacuum. (They resemble a flat rubber band 1/2” wide, 1/8” thick by 8” diameter.)
I turned all of the pulleys (5 per side) so that they had a groove in them to keep the drive belt from tracking off. They appear to have no wear whatsoever… besides a little bit of paint chipping.
The track however is starting to show its age. It has developed a permanent curve where it was stretched over the drive and idler wheels. I suspect that it is due to the fact that it sat in his windowsill undisturbed for the past 8 years. (It has what you might call the rubber equivalent of kinked tracks.)
Now, here is where you come in…. I noticed that your Truck or Track website had a section for rubber tracks. I looked it over and couldn’t find any replacements that seemed compatible. (Which is a shame because you have some awesome looking tracks.). So, I went to the Hoover Vacuum website and priced a replacement pair.
It was unbelievable to me but, do you realize that in the past 16 years, their price has doubled? They want $11 for a single track! In my book that’s price gouging. I mean, I know the cost of rubber has gone up. But, double?
Well Todd, there’s a principal involved here. I mean the tracks are lightly used. They have no cracks. Their surface is not even heavily abraded. If replacement is absolutely necessary I’m gonna shop around.
Here are my questions…
1. Do you recommend torching out the kinked section of the tracks and replacing them?
2. Do you think it would be worthwhile to take them off, turn them inside out and see it the kinks work themselves out?
3. If my destiny is to reach deep into my hard earned savings and buy replacement tracks, do you want a piece of that action?
4. If you quote on them, can you quote in both black and camouflage? (Mossy Oak is his current wardrobe phase. It would be ‘totally awesome’ to match his PJ’s.)
My need to resolve this is urgent. You see Todd, he graduates High School next Summer. And, by my calculations he has just one last Winter at home in his bedroom to enjoy his tank. I believe that the reason it sat undisturbed in his windowsill is the kinked track… if I get this repaired he will certainly put it back to use this winter. Don’t you think?
Any free advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated… you see I’m on what you would call a fixed income… which means… you never have enough income to FIX stuff!
👍
Todd is highly skilled at his job as a diesel tech. D.P. you are good at a lot of things he is better at his job.
Todd was awesome....told it like it is. Great info.
Thanks
You have some great connections with suppliers, company's you deal with. This sure can be a bonus to your business !
Yes it is
The interaction between you guys is so great, I have learned more than I ever wanted to know, but, I am here to learn, and my coffee is getting cold. And, any seal assembly that has movement across the sealing plane will cause damaging wear on the seal. darn, now my coffee is cold.
yall should have a comedy act, love watching you two interact!
Lol thanks
I could watch you and Todd go at it. The company man and the business owner. Lol God bless
from the Netherlands thanks for the video DP
Thanks trucker tack. Todd good info 👍👍👍👍👍👍. And Dirt Perfect
DP, thank you for sharing this video! Love when you and Todd get together. One, it’s very informative and two, it’s very humorous which makes my day!
We’ve always had good luck with welding the grousers up. In the woods and a lot of traming wears them down fast.
Good deal
good to see Todd in TRUCKORTRACK !
Very WORTHWHILE (educational) video by a couple pros who spent some time "under the carriage & across the tracks"! Todd is really knowledgeable and put you both together and it's explosive. (Hobby for me is buying COPART salvage vehicles online & w/virtual bidding many are out of state.) So many times we can pay a lot "for a picture"! This was great & now I SUB'D to Todd @ TRUCK or TRACK!
Thanks Sonny
very informative and good banter. thank you.
Always nice to see Todd on here.
Great information from you guys, thanks!
you going to have to put todd on the payroll. funny. cut the tv off and had the whole family watch... good stuff.
Lol thanks
Excellent video, stuff I wish I'd thought of before I started buying equipment in online auctions. (But learning a lesson the hard way does make sure it stays learned.)
Thanks
Hey guys, this is the weirdest game show i've ever seen. 🤣 Great info!
Lol
Mr. Dirt Perfect this is a much better video than an old red dump truck driving thru a lightly muddy field..this video is very informative good job on this one..I throughly enjoyed viewing this video..
Thanks
Love Yanmar engines, but they need a class action suit on that parts deal, 5 to 7 years on that no parts deal, it is done repeatedly!
you keep growing because you are being blessed , you take care of people and in return God is taking care of you......by the way love watching you and all your friends the videos keep me laughing and learning
Thanks Tony
I want a video of Todd cramming those undercarriage parts into a client's mailbox!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 he said he didn't care, he'd do it!!!
Good morning DP and Todd
Good morning
Some guys I know bought an old Case 450 loader and did some work on it - injectors, pump, new radiator. Brakes didn’t work. They decided to sell it and were asking 10K for it. I was half-ass interested until the weather finally dried out enough for me to get down to earth and inspect the undercarriage. The bushings were worn through. So basically, it was worth what they paid for it *before* they spent $1200.00 in parts and bunches of hours working on it. They sold it to a neighbor of theirs who must not know much about undercarriage stuff. 🤷🏻♂️
That Takeuchi TL12 you showed is located near me. I've looked at a couple of machines they have posted in the past. They dress them up a little bit and ask a huge price for them. I'm always leary of a machine with a new bucket and tracks or new paint and the rest of the machine looks like crap.
A dealer takes a trade, the trade in lacks a bucket and the tracks are really damaged. He gets more to replace the parts than selling as is.
We bought a used mini van, listed at a bit below market. Great price low miles with no reports of accidents.
Here we are 4 years later, paint is flaking on the edge of the hood showing factory paint. One headlight lens perfectly clear, the other fogged. In certain light angles I can see a slight variation of paint shade. I now suspect the dealer did body repairs on non insurance claimed accidents.
What do you believe??
😡 I've seen my friends fender & hood of his Black truck painted with lacquered Black instead of Black clearcoat. Boy was he pissed! Didn't even leave the bodyshop.
@@donniebrown2896 there's nothing that says body damage can only be repaired under insurance. What if the fender was rusting out and customer wanted it repaired? You don't make an insurance claim on rust.
@@dangerrangerlstc true about rust damage as no insurance company anywhere will cover that. This vehicle came from Arizona, I did check for rust. This was a lease vehicle which meant it was probably "touched up" when the lease was up. Dunno. Oh well, learn by my mistakes I guess.
@@donniebrown2896 just because the rental car came from Arizona, doesn't mean that's where it spent all its time. Those national rental companies move cars around all the time so they've got a good selection everywhere. Plus they have their own shops sometimes that fix little dings or damages without having to go through insurance. We all know how well people treat rental cars.
Thanks for sharing your adventures with Todd, he’s a hoot to watch on video. Very informative video. Wishing you and your family the best.
Thanks
Excellent information! Doing a 290 hitachi Hoe soon, might have to hit up the 5% promo!!
DP, this is one of the greatest videos ever. Todd sure keeps you honest and you both provided an incredible amount of good info. Thanks for this!

Good points to look at
Todd sells and DP lives it. Both on the same page. Just found this sucking me in more then I thought it would. Great job guy’s, you guys blend well together. Lot to know and thanks for sharing!!👍🇺🇸
And Todd made no comment about you using the hammer on the 120 light ?? He’s slipping!! Great resource Mike, and lots of info. Thanks, John
Lol thanks John
Great informative video... Thanks. DP and Todd you showed things many overlook which should be a part of inspection on service intervals not only a daily walk around before the start of the day..
Thanks Tom
Great information Mike 🇺🇲 I really appreciate you sharing this information 🇺🇲
Thanks
Does Truck and Track sell cab sun visors for International cabs? If not you should get one from a salvage yard for Lt Dan.. I bought mine from a salvage yard near me and put on my International tri-axle dump truck. I really think It Dan would look awesome wearing one. 👍🆒
Wow, what an informative video. Thanks
Thanks
looks like a after market manufacture shop is needed for all the older machines.
And new
Excellent video. Thank you!
Thanks
Happy to hear the update on Lt Dan. Interested in the camera set up Todd was talking about.
Thanks and me to
Don’t worry about parts too much, Someone has one, somewhere, and when you find it eventually, five others will turn up, cheaper and closer !
Listen to him......he's right.
That Pin Boss looks like a Dirt Perfect machine. LOL
Good info love how you throw captain Cleveland under the bus
DP you are a tease! Making this video on back of LT Dan. I can’t sit still waiting for a update.
Interesting video. Lot of good information presented.
Thanks
Great video DP love it when Todd on it always fun to watch .,👍✌️👌😎
That, was a GREAT VIDEO ! Knowledge, Humor (interruptions) and Damm, is that Todd guy GOOD LOOKING !
Thanks
Lots of great information. Thanks guy's!!
Great video Mike! I am in the market for a dozer and have been looking. Most dozers are high priced with worn-out UC, makes it hard for me to make the plung. I found the truck or track site very helpful to make sure parts are available.
Good deal and good luck
another fantastic film. I'm in the UK so I cant use his company, but would if he were in the UK.

You do make this kinda stuff pretty cool Mike and Todd seems to be a good guy and the cameras do sound good are they too help MBHTS 🤔 cool video 👍😎🇺🇸NY
Yes he is
On our SVL 75 we will run the tracks till the drive lugs tear out of them. We only get 600 hours out of a set of tracks on the SVL. We just put a new set on last month. Bear in mind I do quite a bit of reading during the winter I run the machine down the public roads. Rubber tracks on minis they don't last long, our 121 Kubota we went to steel tracks with road liners. Steel tracks on 200 size hoes we'll run them till they are falling off. Undercarriage is very expensive a good operator can run a hoe with baffed out undercarriage. We are not in mud were on shot rock broke with a hydraulic hammer.
Great video !!!! Keep em coming!!!! 👍
Thanks
HELLO MIKE AND TODD ITS IS RANDY AND I LIKE U VIDEO IS COOL THANKS MIKE FRIENDS RANDY
Thanks Randy
Ty sir
Mike great video! Thanks for sharing. Kevin
Thanks
Great video! Would you and your partner help me with judging idler wear. Specifically the shoulder or whatever its called. Not necessarily the bearings. Thanks
Better ? For Todd
Very good
Thanks
I’m going to look at a komatsu tomorrow, however truck or track doesn’t show the model I’m looking at. I was really excited when I remembered truck or track to.
I would call the store good luck
@@DirtPerfect headed home from checking it out. The undercarriage on it was pretty mint. Brand new rubber tracks idlers shoes very little wear, but, it has the good ole dirt perfect floppy bucket. Figure it’s a special edition so I gotta get it lol. But on a serious note, if it wasn’t for the bucket and the character in the sheet metal, I wouldn’t have known it had 8000 hours in it.
Learned alot once again thank you Mike very informative.
Thanks
Oh man I wanna send you pictures of my excavator. They call it a gray Model. I'm not to sure but it's a hatachi ex something or another I've use John deer parts to fix it
QUESTION, when buying equipment, do you see the dreaded words that you see on buying cars,,,,, AS IS,,,,,
Don’t bother me
@@DirtPerfect do you mean it doesn't bother me, or are you asking that i shouldn't bother you. if it is the second, i won't post questions anymore
This is some nice info! I was just looking at that 850 in Kentucky on machinery trader. I’m going to buy one next week if I can find the right machine
Good luck
@@DirtPerfect bought a 2014 850k yesterday! Hope she treats me well
👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🗽🙏🏻 Enjoyed!
Sorry to bother you again. I could not locate cool zone a/c for trucks. There are many cool zones. I’m very interested in how you are adding a/c to your truck. Can you post a link? Will you do a vid on the install? Ty
Will see if I can find it
hi there great vid. Where did you get your A/C kit? ty
Cool zone on the internet
Mike, I think that we have met your match for talking. Between the the 2 of you I’m worn out listening.lol
Lol sorry
salutation à Mike et à trock- track
Todd very funny man
You sound like an old farmer DP.
Hey DP, why is two different tracks on a skidsteer a red flag?
Yes
Good information
Thanks
Teach me something Mike and Todd
Hope we did
@@DirtPerfect I always learn something from you guys - all of you.
