Agree to all your points. Realized it years ago and left corporate job 10 years ago. Now, managing my own small enterprise. Won't say that I am doing great financially, but I have peace now. What I've understood is that if you sacrifice a few flashy things that are not essential, you'll be happy. What is the point of buying a 2Crore home, if I am not able to stay at that home and enjoy that home? Spending 14-15Hrs at the workplace and then coming to home only for daily ablution has no meaning. Bigger home you buy, lesser time you spend at home because to match EMI, you need to work more and need to spend more time at your workplace.

Last observation is pretty correct, we work with multiple geography around the globe the people who have joined from India are like this only. While people from the geography are pretty chilled out about work. While people who are India call us at late in night.

I am management consultant working with a Netherlands based company in India where I am building their global research centre. I always ask my team not to stay after 7 pm in the office. Especially freshers needs to understand that the company will not get ruin neither will grow exponentially if you are spending time after office hours in the office.

I generally avoid telling my earning because a lot of people are still looking desperately for jobs in this country and they can feel a kind of pressure or demotivation. But the max what I can tell you is that I am top 5% earner in my professional domain.

I do find however that Indians are not as efficient, miss the big picture and don't innovate much. A lot of them are primarily concerned woth what will make them look good. Amit Ji if you read my comments here is my genuine feedback. Where you said NRI too work late. What I have noticed specially In IT if someone is working on Work permit (Temporary Visa ) they work late where late working is glorified and create a dirty work culture because they want to show their manager they are most hardworking and if any visa extension or any other opportunities comes then they should be considered. Second category is those who are Permanent Resident (Green card) or citizen, those type of people will not prefer such working culture because they don’t need anyone’s favour to get any visa related extension. In my 7+ year i got Indian boss and non Indian boss but i was lucky to get good people. But trust me if there is No visa related pressure on Work permit guys then they will also not work late😊. managers also know that ki inka juice kaise nikalna hai by showing 🥕

I m 38 & working as Associate Director at a big MNC. While i m earning well, yahaan culture aisa bana diya hai ki mujhe chutti lete hue darr lagta hai & most importantly guilty feel hota hai 😢

We r put into an atmosphere where the culture has been made like this deliberately...but one cannot just leave it, once u r habituated living in such fast paced environment.

Some PPL like us get satisfaction when we get respect & recognition at work...also having performed at big companies, it becomes difficult fr us to fit into lesser paying smaller companies because the culture of such cos is not in line with our expectations. It also comes to intellect. Some time ago I had worked with a client which had a chill 9-4 lifestyle...nobody gave a damn abt anything...but when u work with them, u will hold ur head. The PPL are intellectually below par. .take 2 days to do something that can b done on 2 hrs & even after explaining them multiple times...they continue to make the same mistakes. Such stupidity literally pisses me off. The mindfuck it came with, took the entire joy of 9-4 away. So while it is easy to say tht get ur priorities right, it is a function of a lot of things...a Google engineer cannot wake up one fine day & switch to TCS just for work life balance reasons (just an analogy). Thanks.

It took 11 years for that? I am newly joining all it took me mere 3 months to judge that my life will be hell in this work environment. Had to resign despite not having any other job patiently waited for another exam cleared, then after 1.5 years got another one but same issue is here as well. Govt job environment have become toxic as hell especially in central govt jobs. I will never suggest anyone to get govt job especially in this era of other opportunities in other Pvt sectors where people are at least paid well in terms of money. @@manikyum guilty tht I m not working hard enough...when I see my how tirelessly my superiors work (Diljale types). I know this is wrong. We r put into an atmosphere where the culture has been made like this deliberately...but one cannot just leave it, once u r habituated living in such fast paced environment.
@@priydarshanpathak4351 maybe the guilt is stemming from you not having a clear picture about your priorities..? Get your priorities in order, once that is done even if your superiors become VP or SVPs or juniors become at par to you, it wouldn't matter.
@@manikyum it is not that black & white. It is a function of a lot of things. Some PPL like us get satisfaction when we get respect & recognition at work...also having performed at big companies, it becomes difficult fr us to fit into lesser paying smaller companies because the culture of such cos is not in line with our expectations. It also comes to intellect. Some time ago I had worked with a client which had a chill 9-4 lifestyle...nobody gave a damn abt anything...but when u work with them, u will hold ur head. The PPL are intellectually below par.
.take 2 days to do something that can b done on 2 hrs & even after explaining them multiple times...they continue to make the same mistakes. Such stupidity literally pisses me off. The mindfuck it came with, took the entire joy of 9-4 away. So while it is easy to say tht get ur priorities right, it is a function of a lot of things...a Google engineer cannot wake up one fine day & switch to TCS just for work life balance reasons (just an analogy). Thanks.
In a company if someone takes leave then Boss will punish him for the next one week continuously by harsh language, give him a list of old pending tasks.

It took 11 years for that? I am newly joining all it took me mere 3 months to judge that my life will be hell in this work environment. Had to resign despite not having any other job patiently waited for another exam cleared, then after 1.5 years got another one but same issue is here as well. Govt job environment have become toxic as hell especially in central govt jobs. I will never suggest anyone to get govt job especially in this era of other opportunities in other Pvt sectors where people are at least paid well in terms of money. 9 to 5 वाली job हफ्ते में 6 दिन यही work culture बन गया है और यह किसी को भी टॉक्सिक नहीं लगता। या टॉक्सिक लगता भी है तो भी उसे सही जा रहे हैं और सिर्फ job websites पर नाराजगी दिखाते हैं। व्यक्ति हफ्ते में 48 घंटे काम करेगा और सिर्फ एक दिन उसे छुट्टी मिलेगी क्या यह सही है? यदि सही नहीं है तो क्या करना चाहिए?
