The drummer!!!!
Yesssssss
Sííííí!! Grande!!
Nails the Steve Gadd Mozambique
He is fantastic!
Thanks so much for the love!!!!
I think Paul Simon must feel assured that his legacy and his music will carry on when he hears these fantastic videos with Josh Turner doing the songs such justice.
Josh is better than Paul Simon.
absolutly!
in 1 take...
Totally agree! This is a fantastic cover.
@@assaokinoshita3820 probably not at song writing though.
You do everything well, but your Paul Simon/ Simon and Garfunkel covers are just spectacular!!!
Josh Turner has gotten so good that he can drag up superb backing artists wherever he is. I think that is the definition of success.
Came for Josh playing Paul Simon, stayed for Cocktail Hour with Carson McGee.
I just love Carson sooo much. And I’m an old Grandfather! 😂
McKee!
Carson doesn't know his history. The Manhattan recipe was invented by Iain Marshall at the Manhattan Club for a banquet hosted by Winston Churchill's mother to raise money for the presidential campaign of Samuel Tilden.
@@willdwyer6782 I feel like it's pretty clear he's joking around. Although it's interesting to know the real origin, so thanks for that.
More of this cocktail shizzle pleazzz
That drummer tore the...he played it quite well!
Lovely comment and very astute observation 😁.
It wasn't at all bad, I noticed too!!
Josh! You and the brothers and sisters are now my late night snack. Do you have any idea how much joy you're spreading? Long live musicianship. Long live the cover.
I’m 71 and grew up loving Paul (and Art’s) music. You do outstanding covers of so many of my musical memories perfectly.
And your drummer!!!!!
Carson on the cowbell! GREAT cover folks, just loved it!!! Excellent video by Kelly, as always! Keep’m coming…..
Need some more cowbell!
For sure!
What!! No bubble gun?
I've always loved Steve Gadd's drum part on this song and just figured out that he was playing with two sticks in each hand to get that sound. What a phenomenal cover by everyone involved!
I just found out that that was Steve Gadd on that tune. Thanks.
The same!
@@aylbdrmadison1051 Steve Gadd was on EVERYthing!! 🙂
My one-year-old is dancing all over the house to this. His dinner is going everywhere. Thanks Josh. Regards from France.
Carson on cowbell making Manhattans! How does it get better than that?
Cowbell!! I need more cowbell with a Manhattan and Carson dancing in the background 😎
I’ve got a fever! And the only prescription is more cowbell
Oh, Carson! You crack me up!
These Paul Simon's always had the best of the best studio musicians on them, so the parts are always subtle and well played, an accomplishment if you can keep up :)
When it comes to creating a beautiful album, it doesn’t get much better than Paul Simon!
TONE TONE TONE across the board. Well done musicians mics engineers and ears.
Just a great cover. The studio musicians did a stunningly great job. Is there nothing that universal man Carson can’t do? Cow bells, Manhattans……
Bubble machine!
As a 75 year old man who remembers the beginning of this I can only say if you and Carson were my age you would have been more of a success as many at that time. Not copying others but as original’s. Thank God you are here for me in my later years.
My favorite Paul Simon song. Well doe again, guys.
Damn! That’s sweet. And the drummer is awesome Four sticks.
Quite a nice arrangement and cover of the original! All so talented!
I was lucky enough to be chosen as an extra in Paul Simon's film "One Trick Pony" for the bar scenes of the band shot at "Fitzpatrick's" down in the flats of Cleveland circa 1979.
We were bar patrons, and audience members sat at tables in front of that incredible band playing sets of the songs 8-hours a day for three days if I remember correctly.
The gig culminating with Paul Simon and band performing a private concert for all extras present as a wrap-party to say thank you! It was incredible!
I keep waiting for Paul Simon to walk on to one of your videos in a surprise cameo! Josh, I have to believe that he has seen some of your incredible covers, both solo, and in collaborations with various artists like today, and he must feel honored.
At one point I found a clip from the aforementioned film with Paul and the full band (Steve Gadd playing drums!) playing one of the cuts from the soundtrack, and at one point when the camera pans across the audience I can see myself forever immortalized in a few frames. My 15 minutes! Lol
I have been following you since 2013 when you did that first duet "Baby You've Got What It Takes" and I am in awe of your talent, as well of that of your many friends! Hope to see you perform one day given the opportunity ;-)
Lets give a hand to Kelly. The spin to reveal the sax and cow bell was perfect.
It is really wild to me how much he actually sounds like Paul in this cover. Bravo!
Sooo good, I couldn't help but dance, never heard this song before, thanks for being it to my ears.
Also Carson at the end was a ham 🤣 I could not stop laughing.
Thank you Josh Carson and crew you made my day
I have been a man of music my whole life. (age 70) This group of rag-tag musicians just created my favorite song/video ever. So much talent! They captured lighting in a bottle! Thanks
It's absolute insanity. Every cover he touches turns to gold.
Your band was spectacular ...that drummer tore my face off he was so over the top good and the rest of the ensemble did you proud Josh ...this was killer !
The drummer and bass player are splendid. I love this cover. So good!
Great cover version of one of my favourite Paul Simon songs. I'm looking forward to see you, Carson, Reina and Toni next week in Cologne!!!
Excellent Cover! Joe Howard smashed the drum kit! 😎🤘👍
Give me more cowbell!! Love how Carson is just...there.
Thank you. Someone needed to say this.
That Oppenheimer thing had me throw away my science degree, love it!
truly the manhattan project
Except it is made up...The Manhattan cocktail predates Oppenheimer....
DAMN, that was good. I like the fullness of sound achieved by the drummer using four sticks. And the bass player's riff at 2:37 was SO sweet.
Une belle reprise, et c'est la première fois que je vois un batteur avec 2 baguettes dans chaque mains👍👋
Love the Carson dance reveal at 01.56!
Rock my world, but this was fantastic! Oh, you don't understand how happy it makes me to see people playing music TOGETHER! Also, I wish could be so coordinated to play drums, and with the double sticks like that. So freaking cool. Everyone was wonderful! You all give me hope for the future of music.
Carson dancing & watching the music happen is one of the most wholesome things ever. 🥰
Josh ... just chillin' with his boys, his troops ... yeah!
Oops, a woman on board
@@lady9580 She was included in troops! ;) Plus we can't know if she was identifying as a boy for that session!
OMG, thats so good... He's doing a Paul Simon impression. Thank you for that Josh, and please keep doing it.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your work and all of the members of your posse
My ears are always in good hands when Josh is in the band. Paul Simon had such an awesome sense of rhythm.
So true. Paul Simon is a prince among musicians. A genius storyteller using song. Josh is coming right up in those ranks.
CARSON LOOKS GREAT NOW !!!
Another wonderful cover from Josh !
And, good humor from Carson ! Fun !
Josh is a big Paul Simon fan, and so am I.
It is early in the morning, but this cover can play any time.
Starts out with a great group of talented musicians, and then this ER nurse drops in after her shift to contribute epic sax riffs. What a fun video.
Wowzer !!!!
Really good players go together really good with really good players.😎
Brilliant Josh Turner, just Brilliant 👏 👌
What we need is a Josh Turner and Paul Simon collaboration.
Could we stand that?
Paul Simon was a brilliant song writer and performer - you’ve more than done justice to his brilliance with an exceptional performance of you own. Just gonna play it again…….
is not was
@@blueninjasix oops, yes of course!
You and your band mates are AMAZING!!!!! S&J didn't do it any better! WOOWWWWWWWWW
Oh man I am dancing here and it's 8am!
Perfect! Just the right amount of cowbell.
Watching this again. Thanks again folks ! cheers from Nova Scotia , Canada !
It's spooky how close to the original this is. So much going on in this song but all done to perfection. Well done.
WOW!
Carson! What a character!
Good stuff, y'all!
Put a smile on my face!
Really fantastic!
The drummer definitely did Steve Gadd proud! Incredible dynamics, the perfect rhythm, and using two sticks in each hand. Nobody plays that groove the correct way. Your guy did!
Josh always awsome!!!!
Funky groove for a Friday. Thanks guys!
So much fun to watch a group of talented musicians just go to town on a classic tune! And, Carson, Manhattans rock. Thanks for making my Friday night, all! 😃
Loved this cover..congratulations ❤.And thanks for the cocktail 🍸 😀 ❤.
How is it possible that you played Paul Simon better than the man himself! Well done once again Josh and band.
Yes! Josh is amazing.
I would agree that JTG is actually a notch better than the Paul Simon original even though I know that is impossible. WTF is the deal with this damn Josh guy? Believe me I would hate him in a second as I hate almost all covers even good covers as second rate at best because I mightily respect he energy of th original but this damn Josh guy seems to breathe into his covers the original energy at the micro level of the original creator. I would normally think that was impossible but this damn Josh guy seems to do it regularly! WOW beyond description!
I love listening to Josh.
Come on man! Just. Wow.
Wow, guys, this was next level.
came for josh, stayed for dat epic cowbell solo :D
Always loved this song. Incredible cover Josh!
One of my all time favorite Paul Simon songs and you nailed it (as you always do!) Great job!
Bravo to you all.
😘 from France
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE tell me that this is first track on your Paul Simon tribute album. If so, where can I send my fist full of dollars?
+1 I'd buy that.
Fantastic cover! As a bass player I would love for that to be a bit more forward in the mix as he's going nuts back there!
Agreed. It is in the original recording.
Cant remember how many times I've come back to this. A brilliant cover from a remarkably talented group of musicians. Thank you Josh, keep it up!
Good stuff.
Tremendous amount of talent in the room!!
When have you seen a Josh performance that there hasn’t been a tremendous amount of talent in the room? He knows so many talented people!
Josh is Paul's clone. Prove me wrong..............
Absolutely delightful (even the Manhattan Project flashback)
What a great bunch of musicians and geniuine cool cats you guys are. Watching your videos gives me hope for this planet yet!
Josh electric guitar TONE! Yay!
This is great! Only thing would be better would have be Carson dressed up as Will Ferrell with that sweet Cow Bell!
Wow! What a joy to watch! Also watched Josh and Carson grow over the years into spectacular musicians. Always looking forward to seeing the next video. You young folks really carry on the classics!
Awesome ..as usual.
Drummer going full Steve Gad with 4 sticks, very talented guy!
Absolutely terrific....
top drummer.....well done that chap ! (Oxford UK)
You’re so inspirational, Josh! Such a perfect cover. Loved it. ❤
I agree…..Josh has the musical taste and talents (as do all of his friends) of someone much older, and they always do justice to the source material.
Carson, my dude, you gotta start using rye in your Manhattans! And twist a lemon peel over top at the end too, you will never go back.
Wish I could "LIKE" this more than once.
Such a perfect cover ! You can hear the percussions very clear and it's so beautifull ! The drummer is amazing! Keep doing good music !!!
Insane!!
Yeah, this was perfect! 👍👏👏👏
Always love your Paul Simon covers! His legacy is in good hands with musicians like you keeping his music alive!
Thank you SO much for this, Josh!
I can’t count the number of times I watched this and then I watch the concert in the park version by Paul Simon. I love this song. 🇨🇦🇨🇦
I love this song! Josh 👍Outstanding
And I love a good Manhattan!
Keep up the amazing work Josh. You will be HUGE one day brother.
He’s huge now but the economics of the musical industry have changed. I’m just glad he makes enough to keep going!
@@nickcarlson6860 Definitely not discounting his reach. I just feel like he has genuine Paul Simon/Jim Croce potential. Been a follower since pre-covid. You are right about the economics of the music industry.
Absolutely Awesome as with all your your interpretations Josh, how can I thank you so much for sharing!
Outstanding!
Holy smokes that was a gud un! Also being a fan of the man or woman behind the camera, I especially admire the work you guys did in staging and shooting a one camera, one take video that highlighted each player in one smooth shot from beginning to end. Hat's off to the videographer.
Wow. Amazing. I love how he smiles throughout.
This has got to be one of my favorites! Everything about it is so uplifting and just puts me in a better mood. So many talented musicians, great song by P. Simon, Josh's smiles and clear diction, supreme videography, and then the silliness at the end.
