Yoooo I swear I looked for two days online how to fix my light and nothing worked until I came to this video! Took two seconds and it worked and my turning signal works as well! I’ve read this but didn’t believe it because my bulbs was working! Seeing is believing!! Thank you!
After watching dozens of other videos, messing with fuze boxes, buying multiple lights, and spending hours troubleshooting, your video gave me the answers. Thanks for the good work and sharing the knowledge.
I've been having trouble with both sets of brake/stop lights. This video helped me focus on the connector and not the bulbs or fuses as the issue. Bending the tabs and reseating the components has worked so far.
Thank you. Took your advice and switched the socket with one that was working! that was it! Bought a new one for $14 and replaced the bad socket. Been driving around for 6 months with one brake light out.
Thanks man your video really helped. That was exactly what was wrong. With my ex’s Toyota Highlander this buys her some time and money
I really appreciate the time and care you took to make this video. It was extremely helpful to me and solved the problem. You are a great teacher and thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
Followed your tips and sure enough when I rotated the socket 1/4 turn the brakelight came on. Thanks so much!
This issue has been plaguing me. Thank you for the great video! Subscribed
Thank you Daniel. I hope this is as easy as it looks.
Thanks a lot. Your video helped me know what replacement part to order
Thank you so much!!! Totally worked on my 2006 Highlander!! Life saver!
Thanks Daniel, I bought a Kluger which is a highlander in Australia and the rear lights are playing up. I figured it was the dodgy way Toyota used to connect the plug to the lights that was my problem. Btw, it’s only halogen globes that you shouldn’t touch with your fingers, all other globes are fine bud
Thank you. This fixed my problem (which was driving me crazy trying to dignose)
Very helpful. Thank you!
Fixed my Highlander tail lights, exactly as described Thanks.
this helped fix my driver side lights, thanks!
Good stuff! Hooked it right up.
Bro thank you so much for this!!!
Thanks Daniel! Headed to my local Toyota dealer now!
Thank you I am going to try this out tomorrow and hopefully its as easy as it looks lol
Thank you for the video. It helped me out
Thanks for the tips.
awesome tip , also mine was aftermarket and the quality was not as good as factory tail lamp.
Thanks for the video bro!
I really love at 2:03. The Sun container pushing the brake pedal down statically pinned under the dashboard. I just laughed so hard.
Awesome tip on replacement of the connector, I had no idea it was so easily removed. Sure enough, mine had corrosion. I should note though, that the prongs inside the socket (where the connector plugs into) were also corroded, and that part's not so easy to swap out. So, I cleaned them as best I could, and good to go. Thanks man!
Corse. Thanks for the support.
Some dye electric grease might help with the corrosion. You can get it at Autozone.
Thanks. Good vid.
Thanks for posting this video, my Highlander have the same problem!… I always share your channel and always send a like.
Thanks for the support friend. I’m glad you like my work.
good video God bles you
Thank you
Right on. Great help. God bless you. Subscribed
God Bless you too friend
What's the number of the part you replaced -- so that I can order it from Toyota?
Very good
Great video! Thanks! Went to dealer to try and purchase socket but only comes with wiring harness is what they told me.
@@stevenshircliff393 Thank you, that’s interesting. The only wiring harness goes to the reverse lights and the turn signals and brake lights are just the adapters. If you live anywhere around northern CA I got mine from Roseville Toyota.
@DanielsCarTalkChannel Live in KY. Thanks for quick response! Going to try cleaning contacts and bending slightly. Turn signal is only issue thus far.
Does anyone know if the 2008-2013 Highlander also has this same type of taillight connection?
FYI: the part # is 90075-60036. You can see it at 2:17 in the video. I wish I had seen this video before I tested a bunch of fuses.
my recommendation is to buy Acetone or Alcohol in Home depot and clean wipeoff contact with Qtip and Acetone, all male female contact. No need to buy those terminal very expensive, Corrosion contact is the problem will be the same like brand new. Clean also those contact where socket/bulb goes in the lenses, make sure car ignition off to avoid shorting it.
Hello Daniel, thanks for the video. I have a Toyota Highlander 2004 with the same problem. Can you please let me know the part number for the socket.
S K Glad I could help. Part number for the connections is 90075-60036. I just got mine at the local Toyota dealership. Haven’t had a problem with it since.
Thanks for the part number. I ordered it from Amazon.com for $15.00 and yes it works like magic. Thanks for your help in resolving this issue.
So glad you showed the part number for the right hand side, had to give that to the dealer when ordering to get the right part. What part number did you have for the left hand side?
What’s the difference with the Facebook and Twitter? I don’t have a Twitter but the Facebook just has links to videos I just watched.?
Louie Morales with Facebook and Twitter its just something I’m doing to try and expand my audience, try and get followers and subscribers from Facebook and Twitter as well as RUclips. When I post a video I also upload to Google, Twitter, and various pages on Facebook.
Thanks. Could have given us the part#
I had both brake lights stop illuminating
After trying different bulbs and connectors: cleaned off corrosion on turn signal electrical connection.
I doubted the fuse was broken as driver's side was working.
Did you have a check engine light because of it?
Nope, just saw it wasn’t working. You can have a friend hit the brakes for you if you suspect there is a problem.
You might not need a socket...search diy how to fix brake lights on Toyota highlander on yt Jegs Garage it worked for mine...good info here to tho
I tried that on my Highlander and it did not fix the problem.
Same here did you ever figure it out? I checked fuses switched bulbs and socket to other side messed with connection to no avail
superperior I ended up having a short somewhere in the tail light. I bought a new tail light assembly on Amazon for about $65 and the tail lights works again.
@@louisianaguy2661 awesome thanks for the reply glad to know that my next step worked for you thanks again
Look up diy how to fix your brake lights on toyota highlander yt Jegs Garage... it fixed both of mine...you dont need another socket
Ever see some of the latest Toyota and Mazda tail lights? Why did they have to make them those blinding dots anyhow? That little bit of metal wouldn't make any difference anyhow. They light assemblies are still full size but they have those tiny blinding asininely designed lights that are ugly and a just a bad design. By that logic there are millions of Toyotas with tail light failures because their design is a miserable failure. If you were ever behind a Toyota or Mazda you will know what I mean. The only thing worse would be getting stuff behind one in heavy bumper to bumper traffic. *If some engineer thought that it would look good he is guilty of they crime of heresy!!!!*
Blink dude, you’re making me nervous.
