This tears me up. My childhood sweetheart was Native. I was a white haired girl. He was enamored with my eyes and I was entrance by his humor and perfect smile! We went too far too young and hurt each other badly. We were split up. A few years later my folks lost their home. I had to move away. He came over that day with a goodbye offering, crying so hard into my shoulder it broke my heart. Its been 15 years. But I will never forget the impact he had on me. I used to feel cursed to have experienced love so early. Now I feel blessed to have been loved by him. I wish him nothing but happiness, and I pray he finds an amazing wife. (Edit: But sometimes, I wish it would have been me. Oh well.) Update: My mom is dying from cirrhosis. It is destroying her brain. 2 weeks ago, last time she was lucid, she asked me to reach out to him and tell him what is happening. To thank him for the good times and to warn him of the dangers of alcoholism, especially with their blood. (both native). I am scared to reach out. Somebody instill some confidence in me!! Thank you all for listening. ❤️

I have traveled home since, and every time I do I wonder where he is, but part of me is still traumatized and terrified to see him, because we were just too young to be that close. I know it makes us both feel sick because after 9 years of close friendship, we went too far at 11/14 and we were finally split up because of it. There is a hidden love, and a silent understanding... but I can't see him without wanting to throw up. And I'm sure he feels the same. I wish it weren't this way.

I am 78 and worked on and off that book for 25 years and finally published. Now here is why I did it. I believe in reincarnation, I remember it from a child and up and never lost my faith. I remember that past life. So this show intrigued me when these clips came out. At first I never looked at them, then I did. So I would love to know the writers of the show’s thoughts. Jeans were in fact invented during this time and were almost exclusively used by cowboys and farmers. It wasn't exactly encouraged for women to wear them as they usually didn't wear pants in general. But no one would bother them if they did when riding horses or tending to the farms.

It’s the best portrayal of the frontier since Dances with Wolves. Which is saying a lot considering that movie won 7 academy awards.
