Something wild about SJP is that there is a book on fragrance where she and the head editor for a newspaper in NY go through the entire fragrance building process. It is fairly interesting albeit sometimes dry. Name of the book is The Perfect Scent: A Year Inside the Perfume Industry in Paris and New York for those interested.

You're wrong about SJP not being known for her fragrances. Chandler Burr chronicled the creation of her first fragrance in his best selling book Perfect Scent. Her debut fragrance Lovely is one of the best selling celebrity fragrances of all time. Her passion for perfume is well known by a lot of people and in the industry and she's one of the most successful. Just saying.
I appreciate the heads up on this - just grabbed a bottle. Thanks! According to the book The Perfect Scent, Stash was inspired by a layering SJP did of L’Air Du Desert Morocain, Jovan Musk and an oil she bought on the street in NYC. The perfume company didn’t want that to be her first release so she made Lovely. This came out later.

I spotted this one a year ago at a Shopper Drug Mart for $20 CAN... Picked it up and realized I just found a gem for that price... high quality... not nichè... but high designer... does lean masculine
I still have the oil version from when it first released. A couple of drops on my wrist lasts all day. I also have the “hair mist,” but I used it as a body spray on days I didn’t want something too strong.

I’m not sure about your “she’s not synonymous with fragrances” opinion… SJP has had quite a bit of success in fragrance, her Lovely line was a huge seller. The story about the making of Stash revealed a lot about her knowledge of the topic.
Thought I'd never get to own it. Had it in the cart before this video ended. BTW, SJP isn't as prolific, fragrance-wise, as other celebrities, but her offerings usually are a much higher guality.
Great video. Watched this twice and today I got a notification from fragrance x and immediately ordered my bottle.
And before the end of the day it's already sold out; glad I ordered a bottle for me and the wife to share as soon as your video dropped. The site says they will get more stock in on the 30th though.
She used to use bonne bell skin musk. Egyptian musk and a mens fremch cologone that inspired stash. It is my favorite.

Just opened my 100ml- do these bottles look used upon opening? Mine looks about 90% full- exactly like Ashtons is how deceptive! The stock photos show it filled to the brim with an air bubble.
I think a cool video would be to pick top 10 that still in production from the 80's, 90's, 00's and 10's
Just got my bottle of Stash and it is absolutely not my cup of tea, I will most likely give it to my mother-in-law so she can wear it to church
Just got to smell the deep dry down and it’s actually pretty nice
I have this scent, and honestly I love it. I especially like the Stash (pistachio) note in there. Adds something nice to differentiate it from Wonderwood/Santal 33.
The name was explained by SJP in a long video; during the fragrance’s development, she said the project felt illicit, with her and the perfumers passing their bottles (probably containing the fragrance’s many modifications) back and forth in secret, like some illegal substance. “His stash, your stash, my stash…” and the name Stash just stuck.
It’s been officially axed by the brand. How do I know? I asked them on their official IG page and they responded with…”it is being phased out…” Why? Likely the massoia lactone (sp?), which was banned by IFRA in 2018 and brands were given a few years to be in compliance. Thankfully, I have 3 full 100mL bottles in storage! And the hair/body oil which is just a richer scent all around.

got my bottle in 2018 and it still smells great, its cheap but the quality is there.
This is very woody and classy elegant but for some reason I also smell a juicy fruity scent. Love this.

I got the notification couple weeks ago when they had first batch in and picked up two. I haven’t even opened the Fragrancebuy box yet thought I would wait till Oct/Nov to break one out.
I just picked up Encre Noir Sport the other day and it smells very similar to SJP. I own both. SJP is nice but many similar in the same space.
This one kinda smells like Encre Noir Extreme for me.
I 100% love this scent. I have 3 back-ups and a bottle of the oil extrait.

I picked this up and tbh I'm quite disappointed. It's not a compliment puller and has a cheap smell to it to me. This one is definitely gonna die on my shelf lol

I lucked out, picking up two gift boxes during the post-christmas sales at the rack stores for a very reasonable price. One of my favs. To me, it is a softer, more rounded Michael Kors Extreme Speed. I'd like your thoughts on that if you have Extreme Speed.

Yes! I found it a few months ago on Noon. No gift sets or 100ml, just 50ml for aed25, 30ml for 20, 10ml roll ons for 10 and 4ml samples for 2.7. I got 3 bottles. 2 made in usa, 1 made in uk. The usa bottle I opened does not have a batch code on the bottom sticker, just on the box, L121228. Uk box is 16303. I like it but those around me think I'm wearing coconut oil. Right now the price is aed10 for 50ml.

No. The black bag has been included since the scent launched in the fall of 2016.

I'm checking out your old video because I recently (dec 2022)blind bought a 1oz bottle from fragranceex. Should have gotten the larger bottle. Also been hunting this one down a long time. Does it smell like santal 33? Some folks on fragrantica seem to think so. Don't care for that one at all.
They're not identical by any means, but I get the same dry spicy feel as Lalique Ombre Noire with SJP Stash

I really struggle with this fragrance, bought it for cheap in Dubai. It just smells like a spicy dusty old library to me if there is such a thing. So it's just sitting in my bathroom. Great review though.

That’s where I got mine, but it turned up 10ml short having leaked, and with the rubberised paint melting and bubbling on the cap.
The cap later separated as it melted the glue.

I bought it two years ago but regret, it is not mass appealing, the same vain of Encre Noire, the same degree of mass appealing, if someone is into vanilla and sweet fragrances like paco victory or stronger with you, stay away from it,
