Margot it an actress who knows how to come across as charming and endearing. Nothing happening on these talk shows hasn’t already been run past her and her team. This video demonstrates how Margot’s team regularly set up “embarrassing” talk show situations (providing the shows’ teams with photos and stories in advance). Margot is very in control of all the “embarrassment” she suffers because it is strategically created. How she handles this constructed “embarrassment” is a key part of the image her team wishes to create. Embarrassment and her reaction to it has been a key part of building a relatable image for someone who is otherwise (by virtue of talent and extreme beauty) quite unrelateable.

    Some NOTES here
    1. Smile more frequently: Smiling can save you and also make you relaxed. Smile when you speak & listen.
    2. Give yourself permission to be authentic and transparent: Just speak out loud your inner nervous dialogues.
    3. Lean into embarrassment to minimize it and regain confidence: Spend some more time to elaborate on embarrassing moment. If you move away from embarrassing moment then you will lose audience.
    4. Break the golden rule: See if you can find a way to see the positive. If not, try and bail them out of that moment.

To be fair, Margot Robbie doesn't really have a boss she has to worry about when publicly embarrassed because part of the intention of those shows is literally to embarrass a famous person; however, the news anchor was probably most concerned with getting in trouble with management. No matter how charismatic he could have been to the public, the main folks that matter to him, his management, will respond poorly (I am confident in this because I work from home and know of similar things happening and the fallout).

Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for putting these videos out. They are truly great and much needed. I like the that you actually show examples and possible ways for each person to try to get there themselves. I have been employing these concepts for years (not just this video), and have tried to help my friends and family to emulate these better behaviors, but I am no where near as articulate as you, hence they did not get what I was saying. I have started sharing them, one per week, on my FB and have gotten good responses. So again I appreciate it and please keep them coming because they really are helping.

This past Saturday night I was talking to this girl and she spent about 11 minutes explaining where she was from and where she has lived. When she finished explaining, the first thing I asked was, "so where are you from?"
    ಠ_ಠ
She pointed out that she literally just explained that. I leaned into it and commented on my impeccable listening skills. And we laughed it off as I told her that I meant to ask where her family currently resides.
Our lives are made up of embarrassing and awkward moments and it makes it so much more fun when you realize that it is indeed _fun_.
Also, when you voice your inner embarrassment and elaborate, it relaxes everyone else too. It shows them that it's okay if they stumble and it takes away tension. Everyone is allowed to be themselves, be open, and enjoy it all.
And in a one on one situation, not only does owning the embarrassment make for a good time but the authenticity can also be intimate or create an inside joke between those involved

I agree with thinking positively, being authentic, transparency and avoiding undue negativity.
The rest, I wouldn't bother with. I don't think it's honest or necessary to smile all the time just to appeal to others (or repel them with frowns, on the negative end of the spectrum). Forcing yourself to smile when you don't naturally feel like smiling can lead to creating a fake persona. The harder you try to avoid being yourself, the harder it will get to keep up the fake persona. Eventually, your true self will seep through and people will notice the inconsistency, exposing you as a fake.
Understanding, some people recognize fake personas in others but still accept them. Personally, I can't stand fake smiles (and they're not hard to spot). When someone is talking to me and wearing a limp, emotionally-disconnected smile, I'm compelled to distrust them. Many people in the public eye put on fake smiles, especially politicians and we all know how "honest" they are. I don't think happiness is a constant state and people who try to sell the idea that they're always happy, are being dishonest to others and themselves.

As always, great advice for skill development. Sometimes people lack the skills for how to do something. Social skills training is sorely needed, but having a mindset that is self-accepting, self confident and self-respecting is what will get you through every situation you confront. You may not always know how to handle or "behave" in a given situation (and that may cause people to judge and dislike you) but if your sense of self and positive feelings (and self-talk) about yourself is strong, you'll always feel good about yourself regardless of the situation. Sometimes, our behavior might not be great but that doesn't mean that we, in total, are bad. We are more than just our actions and behaviors. Globalizing one situation to condemn ourselves totally as a person is the road to disaster. If you need help and support in changing your mindset, seek out friends, family, therapists, a coach etc. You don't need to suffer alone.
