dreaminginnoother same I was already following all of Russels work before I found this channel and I really like his yogic and newer zen related topics as well
It's not that he's just "doubling down" on his jokes, it's that he doesn't let people take control and quickly change the subject or break him, which also shows that he remains confident no matter the scenario. All of his behaviors go back to displaying confidence in a nutshell, no matter how you flip it or choose another way to interpret what he's doing throughout these clips.
He is a great example of how anyone can come from being drug and etc addicted to someone more conscious and still haven’t lost his uniqueness. He hasn’t change himself but his bad and destructive habits, and now he wants to pass on a good message of everything he has learned, from bad experiences, and that is a great way of leadership. He still makes jokes and still jokes about his past self. That is VERY smart. That is only for very smart people. Great human!
its effortless because he put a lot of work into developing those skills...its like anything in life... spend hundred of hours playing a guitar and it becomes effortless...
I guess that it was a hidden joke. That by arriving and viewing more Russell Brand branding, the jokes on you. I assure you that most wouldn't consider this to be clickbait 😁
It totally makes sense that you have an affinity for Russell as a charisma coach. He is not the best comedian, but his verbal intelligence is truly a gift very few people have. His conversational wit and vocabulary are really outstanding and something I envy at times too.
Well I don’t know every Brit, but I do know that whilst he can be divisive, there are an AWFUL lot who frickin’ love him. I’m a massive fan of comedy and I’ve seen several comedians live. His “Messiah Complex” was not only one of the funniest and best presented comedies I’ve ever seen (up there with the recent “Sticks and Stones”), it is a cerebral and philosophical masterclass. (With a LOT of swearing and almost embarrasing vulgarity too)
As a Brit 🇬🇧 I always wondered if people in other countries would ‘get’ Russell Brand- glad they do! I saw him in London a few years ago and my stomach was hurting from laughing so much
I’ve heard all my life that many Brits don’t think Americans can get their humor. I wonder where this attitude comes from? Maybe it’s because Brits are fond of making fun of us Yanks. I found that out through visiting London when the tour guides had so many jokes about us - so funny! I think Ricky Gervais is the funniest man on the planet.
We love ‘banter’ so making fun of each other. I think the attitude of wondering whether Americans understand our humour as on tv and films the humour is just soooo different. Which I love! I love humour in all forms it comes in.
I love how quickly and naturally Charlie breaks down Russel’s charisma. He’s analytical but not in the way that makes people feel like they’re under a microscope. He’s always kind in his expression, I think that is lovely :)
One of Russell's strengths (which seems to be something a lot of the great comedians have) is breadth of knowledge. Knowing something about a broad range of topics gives him plenty of opportunity to take a conversation in a different direction - he can make a philosophical point or reference a political event, as an alternative to drawing upon personal life experience or playing with words.
Spot on! Russell's command of vocabulary is exceptional! And that's from understanding the meaning , almost historical at times, and a wonderful delivery application of those words!
I may not always agree with Brand, but I appreciate his honesty. And when he has a conversation on a topic he disagrees with, he's very respectful to the person he's debating. He has charisma ora about him that draws you to him. He's adorable.
When you realize you are not important in this world, and you are just a person, and you choose how you want to walk the earth. It becomes really easy being totally genuine. In fact it feels amazing to tell everyone anything about you, because in life everyone makes mistakes, and perspective means everything. Throw yourself out there and people will like you, because they will feel like they dont need to hide every failure from you in order for you to like them.
I used to be a lot like how he is as a kid in school, I could bring my friends to tears laughing using a lot of the same humor you see here.... and its very addictive because being able to make people laugh like tha,t almost feels like having super power and one that naturally encourages you to develop it further and further...... its really mostly about having a highly creative mind and being able to think well visually...then articulate well the visuals which are often manipulated in your mind to be funny...... which I do believe most people can develop if they put the work in to do so. What most people lack though, is the confidence to do it on live tv or infront of a crowd, there is loads of people just as funny and witty as russell in the world but most don't get the spotlight.
This is a great analysis of Russell. Usually these kind of appreciation pieces would be done after a person passes on, but having the courage and honesty to do it while he’s alive is very commendable. He really is a talented, unique individual and I think everyone can learn from him.
I met him! He and his entourage came into the cafe/coffee shop I worked at one evening. I watched russel this week and his subscribers increased by 100,000 each day for the last 4 days. We will hit 6 million soon. Hats off to a man who is as honest as he is funny. At first, I didn’t see the appeal of Russell, but I get it now. He’s great! Must admit, Russell is too smart and clever for me. I’ll admire him from a far.
I love Russell Brand. I suspect that it's a full-spectrum awareness and presence that he's no doubt cultivated with meditation and his martial art practice (is jiujitsu a martial art?), but also that he was probably always sensitive and aware of his environment in ways that most people are not. Such 'hyper-awareness" may even be what initially lead him to self-medicate as it would be exhausting if one didn't know how to be in the driver's seat with one's emotions. It's been really great watching him lean more into his spiritual self and become such an amazing freedom-loving, life-loving presence.
I appreciate what you’re doing. People need that direction sometimes. Some of us are 42 and got hit by random depression and anxiety and receded into our safe zone and need to learn how to get out there and socialize again.
The shark joke you praised I felt like she was actually super uncomfortable. He kept talking over her and she said "Why are you trying to diminish my story". Feels like if you acted like that and you weren't Russell Brand people might not take it super well.
It's possible she was offended by the impoliteness at first but was won over by the overwhelming comedy and truth of the situation. She had a social expectation to be given the space to tell her story, but couldn't help laughing when her anecdote was reduced to its essence. By the end of the exchange I think she knew, and didn't take herself so seriously as to be genuinely upset that he overrode her story. I'd be uncomfortable in that I'd know I wasn't as funny or entertaining as Russell, but entertainment is the name of the game. I think, in the name of humour, his impertinence was forgivable. Would anyone get away with that? With less inspired people in a non-entertainment setting, maybe not. Charisma on Command pointed out that it didn't touch her core identity, which is critical. If someone were to be super upset in that situation, I'd say they were insecure and take themselves too seriously. They could have a lot of fun pushing back and saying they were robbed of their story, or challenging the other person to tell a better tale.
Russel Brand is one of the a few celebrities that I would be interested and intrigued to see what's his Zodiacal Birth Chart may looks alike...there ought be a lot of Pisces in it with an impressive combo of Gemini/Aquarius/Leo and Sagittarius...though, whatever his combo chart is, one thing is for sure he knows how to use it well. He's certaintly awakened and extremely conscious and way ahead of many others on this planet.
He seems the type of person who needs constant affirmation. Like he has to make you laugh but deep down he's a troubled individual. Had a friend like this and could never have a serious conversation he always turn somthing into a joke and it got tiring

🤔…..Robin Williams comes to mind, as does Jonathan Winters, as does Craig Ferguson -Russell is amazing! These talented individuals are few & far between

All that charm, that articulation and quick wit... I wanna hope that he's not damaged and just quick on his feet but those skills often come out of necessity to cope with the uncopable early on in life.
The only other person I've seen match Russel Brand's quickness of wit is Robin Williams. But the impressive thing is that he does this w/o being high on cocaine!
The only off the cuff comedian that was better than Russell IMHO was Robin Williams. Both are extremely fast at being intelligently witty, throwing jokes out a mile a minute, and doing impressions. Actually both have a lot in common...both genuinely nice, very intelligent, with a history of drug abuse which they make fun of, and both very hyper. RIP Robin...we miss ya big time! Thank God we still have Russell!
Love how he exaggerates everything he s "accused" of and really goes on about it...!!! This just discards and disarms all the ridiculous prejudice that's thrown his way ! 😄👌
I struggle with this "taking things literally" type of humor. My husband and his dad like to use it A LOT and I feel like when its used excessively, might have a bad effect - like anything that I was saying is undermined by the fact that I wasn't careful enough and used a phrase that could be understood in more than one way 🙈 I even banned this at home because it was used too much and made me feel so bad 🙈
Know what you mean. Overused, it destroys communication and trust, and shows a lack of respect. Russell uses it well, and knows not to overdo it. Kind of like spices. In the right proportions, wonderful, but too much (like anything), and it ruins the meal.
Russell is really intelligent and articulate. He is confident in his ability to take on anyone. He is very respectful to those that show him respect and that doesn’t mean he wants people to pander to him. He can laugh about himself and take a ribbing as long as it’s genuine and not a thinly disguised insult. He’s so quick with his comebacks . He needs no rehearsals,. He’s often under rated but he is an extremely intelligent guy
Russell is an Energetic Empath. He flirted with narcissism but because of his empath side found that affair unfullfilling. Because he's got taste. No. Because he has explored more of his own character types than most people do. His inner dissonance is what he's looking to find comfort for. But he will flip into another persona for effect as it finds the energy he needs from others, or at least used to need. Those are the traits that lead to him making every decision he could rather than accepting what most people settle with:! Sub optimal Being. Oh, he's very flawed and has explored his inner pathways and external, but external pathways are limited and that's why most wisdom seekers eventually look within. In my humble opinion.
@Karan I'm asking if he could do something, not telling, and if you can't tell the difference between Asking and Telling, you should be the one to get the "F OUTTA HERE"
After watching this video, I realized I want Russel and me to be best mates. He seems like the pinnacle of the ultimate best friend who will always be there in any way you need to help you along life's journey and share his experiences that may benefit your situation, and he could do it in a way that will make you burst out in laughter.
All I notice is that Brand is incapable of admitting any wrong doing. He either turns it into a joke or changes the subject. I cannot imagine ever hearing an apology from him. His being “so articulate” is merely self-serving to get away with bad behaviour and actions. He must have learned it as a young child, and perfected it over the years. Crazy that most people can’t see behind it all.
today...he is one of 3 go to for politics and spirituality...he has an aware mind in many venues...it helps he's nice to look at and funny...regardless...he has a brilliant mind to this day...xo
Can you do a video about Jennifer Lawrence , how she turns uncomfortable moments into jokes . PS: like my comment pls we all want to make those awkward moments a smart funny joke .
The person Russell is you can't learn it; it's a gift you're born with. If we were all like this the world would explode! There has to be a balance of quiet, shy, boring, witty, extreme, and etc of different personalities.
At this point it’s just charlie having a crush on russel
I feel the same way. When I watch Russell in interviews, I too envy his amazing capabilities for banter. It's no surprise he was a womanizer.

He has a very quick wit, that’s one of the things I got from this. Very charismatic too
Would it be fair to say his charisma is “on command”?
@@echoecholima Very much so

Sometimes... a few can... if they're exceptional.
I completely understand the jealousy of him, he is just so effortless, makes you giggle and blush like a girl, even in front of a youtube video
He has like a larger than life personality
Agreed
its effortless because he put a lot of work into developing those skills...its like anything in life... spend hundred of hours playing a guitar and it becomes effortless...

Russel is just my spirit animal telling me "see it's ok to act like this sometimes and people might like you if you show yourself"
Came for the jokes, stayed for the Russel Brand, left without knowing any new jokes.
it's more that within the message are the jokes that you create yourself, from your own creative mind.. I think he definitely made the point

@@zenutopia2k708 yes, exactly! Sprinkled here and there, especially in unexpected moments it can make for a fantastic comedic effect :)
W sumie polski januszowy typ humoru, wiem o czym mówisz :D
What a buzz killer,
lol just kidding but u seem to have a nice family

lol 😁 I like to think that some situations just call for drastic solutions 😎
I can listen to him all day everyday. A truly witty and funny man!
You should break down the dry humour of Karl Pilkington
Love the way you break down and explain Russell Brand’s communication style. I guess that is one reason he is so well loved and famous! ❤😂😊
Russel Brand should be the next Jack Sparrow
Jack Sparrow gets sober, is still just as goofy and charismatic
Russell
He grew up 3 streets away from me, no-one speaks like that where we came from.
Russell Brand disrupting a woman's story, bullying her and stealing her screentime? Sure, pure charm. Women LOVE that stuff.
Do a breakdown of Ronald Reagan's charisma, or Trump's handling in interviews or interviews that are in the idea of the more "Powerful" person.
@Karan I'm asking if he could do something, not telling, and if you can't tell the difference between Asking and Telling, you should be the one to get the "F OUTTA HERE"
@@mrvictorian4004 I mean..."Do blank," is telling. "Can you do blank," is asking. But that other person was far more rude than you were.
It's not a joke he's telling but speaking the truth which people have forgotten to do. Honesty gives you confidence because you have nothing to hide.
Charlie, how do we do these kinds of things without becoming annoying? I feel like it's easier to be annoying with these things
commit to it.
A LOT of people dislike Russel, but the ones that do are subconsciously impressed by his chill attitude as he does so.
After watching this video, I realized I want Russel and me to be best mates. He seems like the pinnacle of the ultimate best friend who will always be there in any way you need to help you along life's journey and share his experiences that may benefit your situation, and he could do it in a way that will make you burst out in laughter.
6:08 you totally change colors...LIZARD PEOPLE ARE HERE
THE REPTILIAN BROTHERHOOD!
HISSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Illuminati confirmed.
Nah, he's just going full Hulk mode.
I am pretty sure that if I ever meet Russel Brand in person, I would fall in love in 5 minutes!
I bumped into Russel back in March. A really nice person and very genuine.
I love his love for Russel!
Brits and Southerners have the best humor.
They have a way with backhanded humor.
Brand rips out a quip so fast it's astounding. He's got that killer response instantly on tap that I don't think of until the next day.
today...he is one of 3 go to for politics and spirituality...he has an aware mind in many venues...it helps he's nice to look at and funny...regardless...he has a brilliant mind to this day...xo
Love "You haven't run out of time Tim. Time continues" 😂👌🏼
Definitely didn’t stun Letterman.
Dave came back w/ the “congratulations” rapid fire. He’s the OG of this. Surprised you misread that
So many people try to bag on him and he always prevails.
Psychopathy on Command.
