Another album you’ll love is the Divine Feminine, it’s his album about his take on what love means to him, beautiful piece of work. Dude was a natural talent and everything he made was amazing
OMG FERN , I am Over the Moon with excitement that you're Reacting to this Project. I never listened to Mac's work and a buddy of mine introduced me to his music a few weeks after his passing. He played this Album (just a few tracks). I was BLOWN AWAY by the level of Musicianship, Production, Lyricism but Most Importantly by the Amount Of Pure Raw Emotional Release, that broke my heart and had me in Tears. I delved into his Discography from the Start (KIDS) & can Honestly say that this Man was a Musical Genius and Fragile Soul. All his projects are Amazing, But SWIMMING & DIVINE FEMININE are Exceptional Masterpieces. P.s. We've Only Just Begun (by The Carpenters)

Wow, I really liked your reaction! Loved the way you vibe into the music, reflecting on the lyrics and vibrating to the instrumentals. And when you started to talk about the chronic back pain ugh I really felt that lol The first time I really listened to Mac was when Circles came out back in 2020. Everything was so crazy because of the pandemic and I was really anxious, so one night I saw the posthumous album was released, people were talking about it on twitter and I wanted to give it a listen. And damn... I felt every lyric and had the same feeling you were talking about like needing to come back and listen to everything again because every lyric has double meanings. Circles meant a lot and really helped me to get through the days. Then I heard Swimming for the first time and it felt like a journey; also a lot of my reactions were just like yours haha. I needed to come back to the songs to reflect more. Knowing about Mac's intention to create connected albums, both of the albums really feels like a circle. He basically created a whole universe to talk about the same things he was stuck on through the years, but in different and creative ways. But he had been "swimming in circles" for a long time, and I realized that as I delved into his discography. In these last two albums he managed to gather the most pertinent subjects in his mind and create circles within circles. But whether connecting the end of an album to the beginning of the next, connecting lyrics from one song to another, or from one instrumental to another, Mac always found a way to create connections, circles, between his entire discography. Because his art reflected his life after all, and no matter how bad he was feeling, music was always his biggest addiction and outlet for feelings. He has a lot of content to discover, released and unreleased, and discovering his multiple talents, as well as noticing the evolution over the years, is both happy and sad. But I try to understand that since we can't change reality, we need to face it, praise the good things that happened and keep moving forward. We are all swimming in circles; and swimming is extremely tiring, but we can stop a little, rest, float, because swimming too much and too hard is tiring, it hurts, and we can drown anyway. But then we need to keep swimming. And Mac found a way to accept life's imperfect perfections and surf those "stressful waters to relief".

yes. Mac puts you in a vibe with his projects. he encapsulates a story or a vibe and it transcends the music. one of my fav things about him. Thank you for this reaction. I think you need to hear Circles now, it is part 2 of swimming and I think you would quite enjoy that. Divine Feminie is also great, more Jazz feeling-he said for that album he wanted to encapsulate love and he created a project around it. Anyways thanks for this. New sub here!
