Yeah, her genius 100% takes 6-7 years to bestow upon us. Everything she comes out with is always just SO worth the wait, that I can’t even get mad at it. One thing I’m so upset over is the fact that she didn’t tour with FTBC because of the pandemic. I really wish she would set that up now, because not seeing those songs performed live doesn’t sit well with me. It makes me uneasy. lol. Seeing her live is just SO good, because she does NOT disappoint. Like there is nothing fake about the level of talent you hear on her studio recordings. It’s almost BETTER sometimes. Her raspiness is always top notch, and her high notes are just SO soft and angelic.
omg paper bag was my first Fiona song ever 😭 love to see it ! we appreciate u so much and wish you luck in recovering from your burnout, taking time for yourself is important
one thing i rlly like about ‘i know’ is that its almost the ‘calm after the storm’ song after get gone. You get the very dramatic and confrontational get gone and then this very sad and vulnerable song afterwards, almost like fiona has lost the energy to be angry at him after using it all up in get gone and has simply given up in trying to confront him, like when she says ‘so be it im your crowbar’ and how abruptly get gone finishes and i know begins showing how she goes from being angry to just feeling lost and how rapidly these emotions occur and follow each other
Yup. Especially since the song is called “I know”, but every time she’s sings it in the song she says: “I’LL know.” And then that end comes, and you realize her last unsaid statement is right in the title of the song. The fact that she was TWENTY TWO when she came out with this album is INSANE. History better be extremely kind to her, because I feel like even though she has a LOT of hardcore fans, the general public just has this complete musical genius passing right over their heads, because you hear Fiona Apple, and you immediately associate it with “angry chick music”, but it’s SO much more than that. Just the MUSIC is genius, nevermind the astronomical voice, and the intelligent, impressive, clever lyrics.
Love the makeup, it’s giving angel eyes vs. devil lips! And like everyone else, agreed this is Fiona’s *first* magnum opus (with Idler Wheel and Fetch the Bolt Cutters being 2-3). Thanks for posting!
Best reaction from Fiona for sure! It's really beautiful to see how you feel about these songs. This is definitely my favorite album from her perfect discography. Hugs from Brazil
THE album I can confidently say changed my life. Wouldn’t be who I am today had I not found this album when I did at 13 years old. And this was the best reaction EVER!!! I was sooo hype with you the whole time and DYING to be able to reply to your rants in between! 😂 When you said you wished we could talk back to you I was like damn, me too cuz I am relating soooo hard and have so much to say!! lol. Why do I always find people like me on the internet but never in real life?! 😂 Anyway, loved every minute of this, made me so happy and you are just awesome and hilarious.
amazing to see you react to this album. its bloody solid one. i just wanted to suggest you to look for a cover fiona did "why try to change me now". there's a live video of that one, and it's just amazing. thankyouuuu
Ahhh amazing album! I had no idea you were gonna do this but I'm so happy. I'm stuck in the car traveling for the next 2 hours and now know what I'm watching❤
I slightly prefer the more raw, esoteric, idiosyncratic sound Fiona adopted with ‘Fetch’ and The Idler Wheel and how her storytelling matured. But this is a fantastic art-pop album and really changed the mainstream pop scene in its own way. It was somewhat underrated when it was initially released. But its influence became more apparent throughout the years.
I agree. Her last 2 albums are my favorite sound from Fiona but I have a big fondness for When The Pawn since it's really quintessential art pop Fiona. It's also insanely relistenable and just one of those albums that is all killer and no filler.
WHHAAAATT? This is your first time hearing this album?? My goodness. I don't consider myself a hardcore Fiona fan, but this album is quintessential 90's. It's really an amazing album. Love Ridden, Paper Bag, Get Gone, and I'll know are my favorites. Also, I'm 40 and I started the process of being diagnosed with ADHD about a year ago, but I'm exploring medications with my doctors. I wonder the same thing about myself. lol. Will I still be the same after medication? I've been like this for nearly 40 years. 😂😂(I'm excited to see your reaction to the new Aurora album! It's absolutely amazing, and so, SO different. Also, that necklace is super cute, and I think this look would actually have been great for the Aurora reaction!)
51:34 As someone who has been medicated for adhd pretty much my whole life, I don’t feel any less “me” when I’m on my meds. I just feel like a me who can focus and can actually think straight :)
OT, but where I live, we call it string cheese. Also, Babybels are one of my FAVORITE snacks, but I can’t seem to keep myself from eating the whole bag in a day and a half. lol.
Great reaction to one of my favorite albums of all time. Also, not sure if you've listened to any other Kate Bush records but i would HIGHLY recommend "The Dreaming". It's got a lot of similar elements to Fiona Apple in terms of intense vocal delivery, experimental production and the songwriting is impeccable. It's also one of Fiona's favorite albums so that's a huge plus.
Would love to see you do Jagged Little Pill (the one that everybody knows), or Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie (the more interesting, more introspective album) - both by Alanis Morissette
Hey, just found your channel and love your reactions! I would really love to see your reaction to Kate Hudson (the actress from How to lose a guy in 10 days and Almost Famous) debut album called "Glorious". Its really good, I believe you would like it seems to be your style
watching this with a smile stuck on my face 😊
AAwwwww yay !!!! x
😂
Releasing a reaction once a year is better that every 3-8 years (time it takes Fiona to release albums). 😅
😂😂😂 that’s true !

okay but “i know- live at largo” was lowkey a life changing watch for me
I was living when you started adlibing at the end of A Mistake

i might not be right but this is just my take and view on these two songs, which is why I like them so much 😭
yayyy, I love Fiona Apple
"It's okay, don't need to say it... (I know)". That implied unsaid "I know" is my favourite moment on the whole record.

1:01:43 the fact that a girl dancing to this song on tiktok was the reason Fionna took all of her músic off tiktok lol
One of my favorite albums of all time, as in tied with a few others. No skips, all amazing. Lyrics, music, vocal performance. A+.
Also; fuckin' go.
I LOVED this reaction, can’t wait for u finishing her discography ❤
Limp, Fast As You Can, and Get Gone are perfect songs in my opinion.
Omg finally!!! I love this album so glad you listened to it 😍
On the Bound was the song, especially the "You're all I need.." part, that made me think Fiona should have been approached to do a James Bond theme.
A mistake is probably my favorite fiona apple song of all time. The whole album is just a masterpiece
Ahhh amazing album! I had no idea you were gonna do this but I'm so happy. I'm stuck in the car traveling for the next 2 hours and now know what I'm watching❤
42:30 I too am hooked on Fiona Apple and have been for a very long time. Her video for Paper Bag is really charming ♥
the way things are
This is one of my favorite albums as well. Definitely in my top 10. I was Obsessed with this album when it came out when I was in high school ❤

You say: "just like a movie!" Watching "Punch Drink Love" is a must for you, with the same music arranger, Jon Brion.
I love how you speak to us 😂❤
yes you NEED to do the newest St. Vincent album. entirely self written and self produced, it’s amazing
I can confirm this is her best work.
Agree. I always come back to this one.
Been waiting to see you hear this!
