But it's when shuttle is near them, deeper into the court. Also they will retire with f*kd up knees, while you will probably want to play till your older I guess.

if I'm not mistaken, (for right handers) lunging with right foot pointing outwards is biomechanically OK to do but I definitely wouldn't teach this to beginners, either.
