Good evening guys! Hello, and welcome to my review of the new Ford Kuga ST-Line X Edition PHEV (yes, that really is the full name!) I do hope you enjoy the content - if you have questions about the car or me experience be sure to drop a question below. Thanks for watching.
Great video, thank you. And thank you for the science section! At long last someone that lets you know the noise level inside the cabin. Something that I consider quite important to the whole driver experience. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the vid! It looks like you moved the rear seats forward for the pushchair test as well as the drivers seat for the rear-facing car seat. As a dad who is also 6'2", it would have been helpful to know how your seating position was in the front with the car seat installed. Love your channel! Keep it up!
Hi Christopher, thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. From memory, I don't think I pushed the rear seats forward to get the pushchair in, but this was filmed quite some time ago, so I could be wrong. The driver's seat wasn't altered for the car seat as it was put on the passenger side.
Hi, I'm 6'6 and have one of these on order. I have absolutely no issue with 2 car seats (a new born and a toddler) and I don't even have the seat all the way back. hope this helps.
My 2nd day as a Ford Kuga Phev 2.5 2021 Vignale owner, loving it after driving S-Max for 12 years, should have bought this years ago. Volvo XC60 was an option but it has a humb at the rear floor next to the middle seat (high voltge battery), but T8 engines have had ERAD and infotaiment issues so a win for the Ford.
Really great review, I am not into cars but this helps someone like me to 😃 I am picking mine up next week, ST x first edition 20 plate 10k on the clock. I like it for many reasons but as you said it's a good all rounder and it's a good family car
@Car Obsession quick question. So I have a price from the dealership on the car which I was happy to pay (I got some money knocked off) that was on Saturday. However, after doing some research the valuation online (I used a few sights) is on average 2-3k cheaper, I understand overheads at a dealership etc. I am buying the car from a Ford dealership but is it worth going back and saying actually the value is this? I know it can't hurt, worse case is I don't get a car that day. Advice on your experience? Or from what you know would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. (I'm getting it a little cheaper than auto trader value) oh and I'm part exchanging my car. So in a way I feel actually on hindsight they are getting my car for "free" if that makes sense
Really slick and well produced video. Mine is first edition and has slightly different features , I opted for the 20” alloys which look great and I enjoy the ride having previously owned an mx5. With the self cantering turned off car is much better to drive, however with adaptive cruise control you can enable semi autonomous steering which is fantastic ! Well done again for your hard work 😀
Thank you for the informative video. Ik like this car very much and want to buy it privately. Coming week I get a demo at have my own experiences. Regards from The Netherlands 🇳🇱
Great video! Thank you. I’ve got one on order for early new year with a bit of luck it will be on time. Upgrading from the focus st line x love it but need a bigger car.
3 things - Auto express say the boot capacity is 612L, Carwow say the wireless phone charging is standard across the range, and lastly, if the boot capacity is 400L what is it with the rear seats moved forward? (Not folded down)
I was using information given to me by Ford that would have been correct at time of filming - this was filmed quite some time ago. Thanks for watching 👍🏽.
@@CarObsession No probs cheers, good review anyway, very useful, thanks 👍👍 sorry if my comment was a bit abrupt I was in a hurry to go out but didn’t want to forget to comment!
Hi there, thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. I wouldn't call it a major drawback, I just don't think they're particularly good. They do have their pros, but give me a dual clutch setup anyday.
Nice review, had mine for a few months now. Really pleased with it, but stay with the 19" wheels as the car drives good enough and save yourself £1000.
You're dead right John and that's what I said in my review; the 20" alloys make for a poor ride. They also cost £1,100 so you're simply paying a lot of money for a worse car just for the sake of style. Thanks for watching John.
Hello Brian, thank you for watching, and thank you for the comment. I have driven an older version of the 3008, but I don't believe it was a GT Line. That aside, I believe the 3008 would be the more comfortable car to drive.
The full cougar 2020 hybrid the battery goes flat how do you get into the bonnet when you can't open the passenger door with the key kind regards Cyril
@@CarObsession you open the driver's door the passenger door stage locked because obviously the batteries flat and paddle for the boot is covered by the passenger door
ECVT not cvt. from an engineering, efficiency point of view, the CVT makes much more sense than gear changes. why then it is not used, for the same reason why all our kids, fashion and lobbies.
How the hell do you get 201mpg? The car does about 30mog on fuel alone and the EV range is what around 36miles? It doesn't charge itself with another 140 miles of EV range within the 30 miles of fuel usage. I cannot find any proof of this range anywhere. Best seems to be around 70mpg!
Hi there, thanks for watching. Its not difficult to find it online: www.parkers.co.uk/ford/kuga/review/mpg-running-costs/ www.greencarguide.co.uk/car-reviews-and-road-tests/ford-kuga-phev-review/ Ford also have it on their website as well. I'm not saying its right but thats what Ford quotes.
Hi there, thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. I didn't experience that if I'm honest, but I did find the power to be surprisingly sluggish in EV mode.

Kuga st line x or Peugeot 3008 GT Line for comfort drive ?

from an engineering, efficiency point of view, the CVT makes much more sense than gear changes. why then it is not used, for the same reason why all our kids, fashion and lobbies.

In sports mode it’s pretty punchy, I agree that if it’s in economy mode the driving experience is miserable!
Looks a bit like a Mazda.
