It's a little over a year since I've made the repair. I only ride about 8 months a year. I'd estimate that the shorts have been used/washed about 16-20 times. The patch is holding up well. One edge, about a 16 inch wide, on the patch on the outside is not sticking to the shorts. I did have problem with one edge when I applied the patch. I think it's my fault and not a problem with the product. I'll trim the loose edge off and all will be good.

Kind of creepy isn't it? I'm heading outside for a ride in a couple of hours. It will be raining on Friday and Saturday. :(

How awesome to see you! How have you been? Hopefully all is well in your world.
I have the same damage to my identical (looking) cycling shorts caused by an exposed fastener thread just below my saddle. I wasn't even aware of the slight rub - rub while riding.
I'll try your fix for sure! I ended up slipping a couple of rubber caulking tube "condoms" over the threads of the fastener end to prevent more damage.
My old 1980s Apollo 10spd road bike. Still works great!

I'm enjoying some east coast Spring weather. The hole in the shorts came from a crash on an encounter with an unexpected wet metal grated bridge. Better to acquire the hole your way. lol. I had to look into the history of Apollo bikes... interesting! Have a great day.

How has the patch held up?

I have several pairs of shorts. They have probably been washed/used a few times. So far it's holding up OK. I don't put mine in the dryer.
