Don't bring an iron anywhere near lycra/spandex. Even rather low temperatures like 120 degrees F will impact stretchability and tensile strength, which is why you're supposed to use cold or warm water for cycling gear. Whatever you do, don't go over 275-300 degrees F, and at 350-375 you'll completely destroy it. GearAid makes a no-iron patches that should do fine if you can't afford to have someone skilled in lycra repair do the repair for you.
Not sure if you're referring to a previous video or the one I posted on my other channel for cycling content recently. It worked on a pair of bids fine. Albeit I used some butcher paper as an heat buffer. It mended the hole and still able to stretch. Is it a long term fix?? I can't say....
the link goes to the neoprene patch. Is that the one you use?
That would be the one.
You cut pieces off for the size of the hole you have.

Will this also work on a bib?
No, works only on jeans
Hmmm works well on jerseys arm, but and leg warmers. I'll test on a pair of old bibs and post the results sometime soon.
Check out this video works on spandex just be aware of too much heat ruclips.net/video/OHlaJpatIOU/видео.html
Does the patch rub in the inside or can you feel it against your skin?
It's a softer material I haven't noticed any issues on the stuff I've patched rubbing against my skin
@@YourCouchsucks thank you for the update!
No problem.
