I watch a lot of RUclips to relax before bed and I just have to say this is my favorite video of the year - not just from your channel. I never thought of oystering and would've thrown them back in after pulling those mud rocks out of the water, but I'm going to try this now. Thank you so much - I enjoy how real and informative your videos are!
Yea Boy, Y’all are making Me so hungry for good Oysters! Tug you sure know what you are doing, glad to see some of the old school traditions are still around!
Nice.. st lucie County has some but they aren't harvestsble.. wishing we had some.. as always awesome video.. congrats to your wife for being published
Published author! Cool beans! They have a big public area behind Cumberland Island that’s open to the public for oystering and clamming here in Camden county, Georgia. That’s definitely cheaper than buying oysters!
Nothing better then good friend going out getting oyster and then cook them up at his house. Having a good oysters dinner is nothing better then your hard labor you put in , but rewards at the end.
I've been watching you and blue Gabe for a while and have seen every one of y'all s video's. Y'all remind me of me and my husband very down to earth people. What you see is what you get. We used to have a oyster honey hole that we called oyster point. They tasted so good. Can't wait for your next video. I will be watching!!
Great video Tug! Congrats to Crystal on her publication! I’ll be honest, if we were legally allowed to harvest oysters here in Atlantic Canada, I’d be there all the time. Most shellfish can only be harvested with a federally regulated license. Similar to some fisheries as well. You guys are awesome! Thanks for sharing!!!
Congrats Crystal on your article! That is amazing. Great video, I love watching you guys. My dad was a commercial fisherman and crabber in Placida Fl, your videos take me back to my childhood days of fishing and crabbing.
I make it up in common sense……… then hosing yourself down! Hilarious. Love it that you keep it real and not all perfect. Always love the vids and congrats on Crystal becoming a published author!
Ian, I love oysters and you have made me want to get some. Thank you for another great video. They are the best and get better each week. It being Thanksgiving week. I am thankful for good clean videos, and friends like You, Crystal, and Sweet B I pray y'all have a Great Thanksgiving Day. God Bless, PopPop
That’s what I’m thinking about 🤩delicious And organic food 🤤 amazing video Tug 👍🏻 and that country music on the background 🤠was the best part.! Thanks again for your videos Tug 😇
Thanks for the new video on harvesting oysters. There are very few 'new' on RUclips. Nice that you can harvest your own and then spend the money that you saved on the lady filming this video!🥰🤣🥰🤣
Aww MMMAANNNN, brings back childhood memories!!! Now you got me wanting to come down to Florida for some fresh Oysters. My Grandmother would make a big batch of Oyster Chowder (not to be confused with Oyster Stew), mighty fine eat'n. When I was in the Navy, I had a neighbor that had never seen an Oyster in the shell. She was from Kansas, he was from Maryland. Being enlisted personnel, we didn't have a lot of money to go buy Oysters (we were all stationed at Pax River, Md). She got a job, with no experience, at a seafood processing plant (Oysters/Crabs). She learned how to do it all and, she had a medium sized cast iron pot (I called it her "Witch's Cauldron") in which she would cook large portions of seafood soups and such over an open fire. Almost matched my Grandmothers! Now, I got myself hungry....
As you know me as old waterman on the Chesapeake Bay, I love those damn things to death. God has always given us the best things in life. So let it be so.
Crystal you are truly a waterman's dream and most people do not understand of what it is to have a great meal off the swat of your brow and have a good lady by your side Tug, if you get my drift.
@@Maybeamermaid Crystal, thank you for your reply, for I have an old 20 ft john boat that I fixed up to help my wife enjoy things with me on the water before she died of cancer after 32 yr's together. 7.5 yr's now that she has been gone and she will always be my waterman's dream. Because she never minded the things I would bring home.
It's great that your local waters are clean enough to eat fresh oysters. Not all waters are. People need to know this. You can keep shellfish in a clean salt water solution and make them safe to eat. It's called depuration. Kind of like with a snapping turtle. Yeah, Jersey has hillbillies too.
Congratulations on being published Chrystal. I'll get a copy of the magazine tomorrow. Ian, I think your culling knife is aluminum flat stock. If you don't mind could you post the approximate length and weight? I'd like to make one and try it out. Thank you much, sir.
I have never seen them stemmed like that before. Looks so much easier. I’m always grilling them and they get eaten faster than I can cook them. I’m going to try it Thursday for an appetizer.
I'd love to eat that amount of oysters but there's nowhere you could get them that easy in UK. Buttered french stick loaf, lemon juice and a dry white yum yum. I will say I got gout just watching you guys eat em🤤🤤.
Loved the video! It brought back memories of When My brother in law and I would fish Texas City Dike. Wade fishing with a screwdriver and a bottle of hot sauce in our shirt pocket LOL Get hungry while fishing? Just put your rod in your back pocket, bend down and pick up a good oyster, Shuck shake and slurp :)
We are on vaca in St Augustine for Thanksgiving and been fishing for reds in the Mat. inlet it has been a blast. We love this area!!! Weather has been wild this week
Man that looks like fun. We are in the new Smyrna area so it looks like our closest place is going to be in Titusville. We would love to give it a try. Thanks for the educational video.
Your oysters are so much different than the ones here in the pacific north west we open them from the front instead of from the back and ares are not so hard to break apart
Tug is my top 5 now.. can’t beat the authentic genuine vibes. None of that forced fake gimmicky stuff.. dope ass channel
So true
After being friends with him I can honestly say, he's a real dude!
I’m just videoing our lives 😁
Agreed!
The "Common Sense" statement and stepping on the water hose made me subscribe. That was funny!

Used to put them on a grill in the early 80’s . 35$ a bushel in Tallahassee. Cook till they pop. Thanks for showing the work.

Like shucking mine out n give em a shake of old bay n roll them in cornmeal n fry them up. Steamed is good as well. Cool video

Pro tip: Soak with water that has not been chlorinated or bleached. Same goes for the ice. Bleach and chlorine kill the shellfish
