    Hi. About 2 weeks ago, I saw Makesy in Hobby Lobby and I was so excited. I can't wait to make cold process soap. The 50/50 is exactly what i need, due to my respiratory problem I was unable to do the regular powder lye. Thank you so very much.

    The first artisan soap I am trying to make is Lemon Lavender. Can't wait to see the results. I didn't buy the kit, only the 50/50 Lye Solution and we mixed our own oil blend. I will let you guys know how it turns out!!

    LoL cuz that's what happened to me, I read the directions on the hobby lobby kit directions and I thought it meant to add the whole bottle of 50/50 ...I was lye heavy and I can't wait to get my kit tomorrow. Thank you So Much ❤

    Love your videos and your enthusiasm for your craft. You are such a genuine person. I’m going to be purchasing this at my local Hobby Lobby but they don’t have the mold. Can you tell me what size mold this is so I can find it? Thank you for all your help and I am subscribed to your channel as well! ❤

      In the video, Joanna uses a 3 lb mold! You can find one similar here: makesy.com/products/frosted-silicone-circle-4-cavity-mold?_pos=1&_psq=3lb&_ss=e&_v=1.0

      Thank you so much! I bought two kits! 🎉 I noted on the IFRA most if not all of the Makesy approved FOs are 3-6% in soap. I have so many Makesy oils already that I would love to use. How do I know what is the actual percentage of 1oz? I want the highest amt of FO as possible to get the most fragrance. Can I put this into a soaping calculator somehow and if so can u show us how on a video or something? Also do I need kaolin clay or salt like your 5lb recipe calls for and if so how much? Thanks so much!

    Can you tell me the percentages for the recipe on the wrapper? I love the bars it made, but I would like to downsize.

    I purchased the individual supplies from Hobby lobby to start soapmaking yesterday. I then separately purchased the downloadable bubble book 16 hours ago and have not received a link to download my purchase. I have been on the chat feature for 40 minutes and is still waiting to speak to someone. I even uploaded my purchase order and a photo of my invoice order with no avail. A download is instantaneous so I am not sure what, where, how, and why there is a delay.

      Hi Tanya! Someone will get back to you on live chat asap! If you still have your packaging from Hobby Lobby, there is a QR code on it you can scan with your phone to access the book!

    What can I do to make my soap not turn brown

    • @makesyofficial
      @makesyofficial  9 месяцев назад

      The discoloration is likely caused by your fragrance oil. Fragrance oils containing vanilla or vanillin can cause soap to turn brown over time. This is a natural reaction known as "vanilla discoloration." Even if the fragrance oil itself is clear, it may contain vanillin, which can darken when exposed to air and light.

    This looks like an easy way to get started making soap.
    Is lye heavy soap safe to use even though it's crumbly?

    • @makesyofficial
      @makesyofficial  Год назад

      It may cause skin irritation so we would recommend rebatching it or discarding it :)

    I bought this kit last week and used it yesterday. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Full disclosure: I did not see this video before using the kit. I wish I had. The instructions on the kit had a QR code, but it was for the Bubble Book, not the video. The Trinity mixture was extremely thick; there was no mention in the instructions that indicated the remainder could be microwaved to make it come out of the container. I read the instructions three times; unfortunately I threw them away after making the soap, but I am 99% sure the instructions did NOT say to use only part of the lye solution. I used all of it, and ended up with unusable lye-heavy soap. Why would you have four bottles of ingredients and not emphatically point out to only use part of one of them? Why not package only what is needed for the amount of soap base? That’s $50 dollars wasted. Normally I am quite happy with Makesy products, but not this time.

      I did repurchase the kit and only used 9 oz of the lye solution. My batch turned out just fine. And thank you for reaching out to me.
