hey brandon, i've been watching every single one of your videos and I can't tell you how unbelievably helpful you are in photography to me because I'm not in a place to be able to invest in photography education, I'm really only self-studying. I was struggling for a long while about several parts of photography but nowadays, I just go to your channel and rewatch all of your videos until I'm able to use the concepts you discuss during my own shoots. You explain things so well in a way that no other channel on yt does and I love every single one of yours videos. Please keep going, you are so my hero! I have a dream to become a professional food photographer along with my career as a chef and I am always, always going to thank you for helping me along my journey. You're an incredible teacher and a great inspiration!
what kind of table surface are you using? I've been using plaster to create and old world look but can't get the smoothness you have. Is it a fake texture or something that can be bought from home depot? Thanks!
Hey Brandon where did you get the table support for your table top that is collapsible/foldable..? Been looking around and not too sure what that is called and been hoping to get one myself
You should have been paid for advertising bro. That's not how it works. My friend gets £1000 for a video and she only has 5000 subs. Yes you got it free but if 8000 subs buy this light because of you... They are loaded. Be smart when it comes to business. Don't promote anything for free.
That light actually looks cool, like some techy robot avenger tool 😂 Also it took me a moment to realize how bright the light is with that base layer image. 1/200 AND f/8?! With an "ambient light!" I have to crank down to 1/80 and bump the ISO to get a natural light base layer like that. I really appreciate your *creative* use of light. I can't say it enough but I really admire that you don't use light the way everyone else does (commonly). Your channel's focus on manipulating + modifying light to your advantage is 👌🏼 Simply from watching and studying your videos, I've learned so much about the fundamentals of lighting and can pretty directly point to your videos as the reason my images have drastically improved over the past year. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!! I can't wait for your course to launch! It's going to be more than worth it! Peace ✌🏼
I know right!? And I could only image with the 300 😬 I can't express enough how grateful I am to be able to help you with my videos! Thank you! It started simply with sharing what I know about light, but I never would've expected to stand out with my teaching style and approach to lighting amongst the rest out there. Thank you again for watching and more so applying what you're learning to your work! Hope to see more amazing work from you!
The only thing I would say is please get to the point without the unnecessary bits. Otherwise, brilliant and really informative videos. really appropriate it 🙏
Love your channel, i follow your channel since the beginning, and i like how you approach lighting / photography in a kind of "philosophical way" which is unique on the internet, looking forward to your online course!
I do own one! But besides this video, I rarely ever do product reviews on this channel as that isn't its main focus right now. I also don't think the Profoto B10 is accessible for most photographers who are starting out or even have been shooting as a hobby for some time. And lastly, there isn't just any demand for anyone to know more about this light, at least to my knowledge. You're the first person to ask me about it haha. So I don't see myself making a Profoto B10 video anytime soon.
How reverse flash able to be in 2 places at the same time in season 5 ending, speed mirage is possible only for few distances and it is not possible while 2 speedsters chasing him also it is not time remnant because he merged back then what is that?
hahah I agree. but that mic is best when it's close to the speakers mouth. I'll just have to find some workarounds. Thanks for watching and the feedback!
I would want to know how the brightness compare to your speedlight. So in other word. Can we replace the speedlight with this led light if they produce similar power/brightness.
Hello. I have been interested in taking pictures of food for a while now, but then with a smartphone. So now I have bought a Nikon D750 and look forward to taking pictures of more food. But then I wonder what kind of light / led / softbox I should buy? Which is not so expensive, do you have any suggestions? Would have been great with a suggestion on the layout of lights, Thanks :)
Hi ! Clamps to hold reflectors: minute 3:36. I'm looking for this clamp and I can't find anything similar, all I see are clamps to adapt to a tripod, could you tell me where to get it? I was thinking of inventing something similar, but I see that it is already invented. You have a great channel. Thanks for the lighting tips, I have reproduced some with textures like yours with amazing results! I can follow your steps almost fluently, even though I don't speak English. Greetings from Spain (is there a possibility of translation into Spanish? It would be great for this audience)
Amazing videos you have brother,, it helped a lot ,, suggesting if possible to talk about LED light panel in food photography using 1, 2, or 3 panels,, and how use them with flash light. Thank you 🙏🏽
Loved how said about the pros as well as cons of it, because we very well know how some creators "sugarcoat" the reviews when a brand sends them something to test😂 Great job on the video! 🙌
Hi Brandon , i was wondering how does this compare in the opposite way , as in flash as the key light , and a strong continous light as the shape / ambient light ? Do they practically produce the same results?
Hello Brandon, Thanks for all your wonderful videos that have inspired and taught me. About two years ago I wanted to upgrade & update all my lighting equipment , and after much research the name Godox kept coming up with positive reviews. Today I have completely upgraded all my equipment with Godox and am very happy. Knowing you use Profoto I have wondered where and how to work my Godox in, as the settings are different. So to see a Godox light in your video was nice, nothing personal with profoto it's just that I'm not familiar with there equipment, once again thanks.
Are you thinking about Flash Power? or just how the photo looks without the continuous light. In this case of flash power, my flash was at 1/2 power if I remember correctly. But in general, the flash power will always be relative to how far the light is placed from the subject and any modifiers used.
Hi ...grate learning here .. can you just tell me what you call that A shaped stand crate your table it seems very handy and light weight as it a plastic made i guess
I've started doing this as well because it's soooo dark in my apartment. Sometimes I need the constant light just to get proper focus in the food. But I love the control it gives over my shadows when combined with flash. Except my constant light is a home depot work light 😂
Hey Brandon, thanks so much for this informative video !! If I use a cheap 30W power Led light with a speedlight to recreate natural light would that work ?The point here is that if I use this led light with a gobo, so that it’s easier to see the where the shadows of gobos is exactly falling in the frame. Would that be possible ? Or maybe sometimes just as a fill light to give a slight bump in the shadows instead of using two speedlights ?
It's definitely possible! I just think it might be harder to adjust your settings so that no ambient light bleeds into your photo. LED lights aren't usually as powerful as speedlights, so that's why I used the lights the other way around in my video. But definitely give it a try!
Ive been a youtube subscriber and patreon user for quite a few months now and mannn is this channel blowing up! Ive never seen anything like it, I swear you've gained like 10K in like six months, unreal! Amen to you Brandon!
Why capitalize the "WITH FLASH" part of the title as if using natural light with flash is some new ground breaking technique? Its been done since photography was invented.
Is there anywhere he states that its ground breaking, mmm, no. Thats also not the capitalised section either. Some people prefer one to the other lighting wise, whether that be continuous or flash, he's simply stating that there is the ability to combined both depending on the look and budget you have. Quit your whining!
Hi @figanglight, I am looking to purchase one of Godox VL200 light, but I heard there is durability issue... how is your VL200 holding up?
hey brandon, i've been watching every single one of your videos and I can't tell you how unbelievably helpful you are in photography to me because I'm not in a place to be able to invest in photography education, I'm really only self-studying. Mari, thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words. I wish you all the best in your journey and hope to see you around the channel!
Great video!. What ball head and attachment are you using to connect your camera to the C stand boom?
This is the video I need. Thank you !!!
Awesome! I'm glad it was helpful!
what kind of table surface are you using? I've been using plaster to create and old world look but can't get the smoothness you have. Is it a fake texture or something that can be bought from home depot? Thanks!
Hey Brandon where did you get the table support for your table top that is collapsible/foldable..? Been looking around and not too sure what that is called and been hoping to get one myself
What is this clamp that you mounting you balhead and then camera on? Would you provide a link or name thanks

Hey Chan! I do remember your first comments on this channel! I'm glad you stuck around and thank you for the compliment, I appreciate it!
Can you make a video on what you think of the Profoto B10? I believe one of your first videos shows you own one.
I do own one! But besides this video, I rarely ever do product reviews on this channel as that isn't its main focus right now. I also don't think the Profoto B10 is accessible for most photographers who are starting out or even have been shooting as a hobby for some time. is it a SHURE SM7B microphone?
If you have a Camera that can handle High ISO's w/o compromising image quality then is not a problem.
How reverse flash able to be in 2 places at the same time in season 5 ending, speed mirage is possible only for few distances and it is not possible while 2 speedsters chasing him also it is not time remnant because he merged back then what is that?
he obeys the laws of quantum mechanics
Love the channel, some great stuff here. Lose the mic in shot look though, it ruins your always excellent framing :)
hahah I agree. but that mic is best when it's close to the speakers mouth. I'll just have to find some workarounds. Thanks for watching and the feedback!
So Thank you for good idea ❤
What is your defusing material? Where can it be bought?
7:10 luckily, the vl 200 is on sale right now for $329 :). appreciate this video! great review

Hello Brandon
I want to know that how can I kill Shadows of Product using Flash and Continuea light. I have Godox SL 60 and Godox 5860.
Thanks

They should’ve sent you the newest flash instead lol.
That'd be cool haha

Thanks Abhyanshu! and I totally get what you mean 😅
Use godox ML60 very portable u can use godox bracket s-type MK II n there are 2 batteries n go outdoor :)
Acabo de comprar el vl300 y wow tiene mucha potencia
kept on checking your page man! waiting for your new video upload, :)
what number of power of the flash that you use with the setting iso 100, 1/200 and f8 ?
2:46 Use diffusion paper for gobo is needed
5:42 brighter powerful light = better photos, do not decrease shutter speed
Hi Brandon , i was wondering how does this compare in the opposite way , as in flash as the key light , and a strong continous light as the shape / ambient light ? Do they practically produce the same results?
What do you think of the Godox SL-150W? Forgive me if you’ve done a review video of it. I’m a new subscriber.
Unfortunately I'm not familiar with that light. If I somehow am able to get a copy of one, I will definitely make a video about it
Hello can you advise me please if godox SL150 II is good for food photography or not..and which is better SL 150 II or VL 150
I've never tried either of those lights, but from the reviews I've seen for both of those lights, I think they would serve well in most cases.
great as always,
but the noise in the footage is too severe

Hi, nice one. I always wanted to ask, what it the thing you use to hang your camera on the c-stand? I cannot figure it out.
best channel about light. thanks for sharing ideas!
Hi, What are battery specs for outdoor use?
I am investing in this channel by subscribing and liking every video watched. See you at 100K
hahah 100K?? 😬 thank you!
Love your video as always
What's the difference of the final output without the ambient light provided by the continuous light?
Are you thinking about Flash Power? or just how the photo looks without the continuous light. In this case of flash power, my flash was at 1/2 power if I remember correctly. nice
nice
Hi ...grate learning here .. can you just tell me what you call that A shaped stand crate your table it seems very handy and light weight as it a plastic made i guess
Hi! Those are called sawhorses or sawhorse stands 🙂👍🏼
That a cutco knife? Very nice 👌
Which microphone are you using?
Shure SM7B
I've started doing this as well because it's soooo dark in my apartment. Sometimes I need the constant light just to get proper focus in the food. But I love the control it gives over my shadows when combined with flash.
Except my constant light is a home depot work light 😂
That's awesome Adam! And hahah but hey you're working with what you got
Great stuff as usual. Terrific job showcasing the process. Thank you for sharing
Thank you Walter! I appreciate it👊

figandlight Thanks so much for the reply. Now that I got my hand on a cheap led today, I will definitely give a try soon ! :)
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
🙏 thank you Mohamed
It is interesting to watch using a 200W continuous light when we could just use a white-board. :))
Love videos like this😁
Thank you!
GOOOOOOODDD..THANKS
woo! Thanks Rodrigo!
loved the lighting! amazing channel

Why capitalize the "WITH FLASH" part of the title as if using natural light with flash is some new ground breaking technique? Its been done since photography was invented.
because its proven to increase clickthrough to videos? Don't hate the player, hate the game.
