5:11 just blew and scattered my head man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU PLAY TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD You always impress me
When you set up strumming, you need to program down AND upstrokes. You used all down strokes. Plus the spacing was off . Watch the OTS videos. It works. I am not saying this to be critical. I just want the viewers to know it can sound very very realistic. Once you get the hang of it. Also I love tweaking and have used strumming in just about every guitar library out there. Otherwise great playing and demonstration of the many sounds.
If you are talking auto strum then Native instruments Session guitarist 1 and 2 are great for ease of use and sound. Nice thick multitracking feature. Fingerpick by Realtone is also solid if you can play chords on a midi keyboard.. Musiclab Real Guitar can be quite convincing. Also good is Indiginus Strummaker iv. Ample Guitar puts out easy to use strumming. Applied Acoustic Systems Strum GS2 is easy but the sound to me is lacking. I think it is a matter of preference. I think Orange Tree Samples have the best sounding of all of the ones I have used by far. I think they are far ahead of the second place. The huge amount of features are unmatched. I have no problem writing out complex strum patterns with them. The sound is very inspiring to me. I would have to pick Orange Tree over all the others.
Amazing review. I'm having a very difficult time choosing an acoustic virtual guitar and your videos seem to me the most helpful. Keep it up, one new follower for your work.
+hifimidi I mainly use virtual metal guitars (V-Metal and Shreddage 2X). I'm looking for an acoustic one to complement them. I'd use it for composing songs, not playing live. Easy to use, for example with a good arpeggiator/strummer engine, in general facilities for keyswitching. It would be great to use the acoustic virtual guitar of Prominy or ISW because I'd use what I've learned to "program" them. Unfortunately the acoustic Prominy VG, Hummingbird, is too much (specially expensive) for my needs, and AFAIK ISW doesn't even have one.
+Luis Endymion Well I think you should consider AmpleSound AGT. In my opinion, it has the most realistic sound with the least amount of bugs. The strumming in very customizable and great for programming. And they let you try out their product for 7 days restriction-free so you can see if it's good for you. Evolution steel strings sounds amazing, but the strumming is sub par in my opinion. It doesn't have the cut through sound AGT has--especially with the stroke noise AGT has. Also, I've found that it is very buggy and often stacks the notes, forcing you to reset the plugin. RealGuitar 4 is really customizable, but is better for live playing in my opinion. I hope this helps.
+hifimidi Thanks a lot, that was fast and clear :) I knew Ample Sound acoustic VG have the best reputation, it seems for once the reputation matches the quality. It was precisely Evolution Steel what made me doubt. I'll try AGL (I'm Spanish) unless you tell me the quality is inferior compared to AGT. See you here. Cheers
AGL is one of my favorite. Since you can choose from pick and finger, you have two great timbres to choose from. I have dabbled with it for flamenco or even mariachi style music, and it is very responsive. You cannot go wrong with it. I wouldn't say the quality is inferior, since it is made by AmpleSound. It's just different. Merry Christmas!
Finally someone again who makes useful quality vsti reviews. You just got a new follower :) Btw - while i think the best steel string is the one by orange tree i think that when it comes to nylon the ilya efimov nylon feels better than the ot one. Already got experiences with it? If not i can totally recommend that one and the les paul. But i am not a huge fan of his strat - maybe its a matter of taste. Keep up creating good material friend!
I use GD-6, Sunbird, Uku, and TelematicV3 from Acoustic Samples. I would love to see you review them. I'm Definitely Picking up some of the products you've reviewed. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and talents
You content is fire man, keep it up♥️ About this guitar library... It sounds really good and realistic... Not only this particular one But the whole orange tree guitars... Electrics, basses and acoustics... I love them And i get the perfect sound out of them with a little tweaking in fret position... I mean these perfect guitar libraries can sound thousand times better when you pick another fret pose... Like 6 to 8
Hello Hifimidi ! i really like your videos and your work in my opinion they are helping a lot, to check a plug-in quality, through your videos ! keep the work going i've got a question i saw your video about " orange - evolution steel strings " and it sounds amazing !! i really like the melodies that you've played on that plug in !! i've had the opportunity to play with that plug a little bit, but it sounds nothing like in your video... Is there any settings to check to have it sounding like in your demo video ? what articulations were you using for the demo ? I really hope that you are gonna answer me, thanks you a lot !
Hello ! Thanks a lot for your previous answers ! I'm gonna check for the snapshots thanks for the tip, but i still have a few questions please, in this video, about the melody that you were playing at 1:40 i think that you didn't loaded any snapshot, am I right ? Did you changed any settings to get that song for that melody especially ? Because i like how it sounds, and i would like to get it sound as good as yours .... Is that only your playing skills, or there is any settings.... ? Were you playing that with all default settings ? Thanks a lot !!
If you know what to hear for in such isolated track, you can notice that it is a sampler... but if you would edit in some fret noise, change timing and verlocity etc. ... it would become very hard even for a musician. In a comlete music track with other instruments - I guess you could'nt even tell. Great play by the way :)
Hi Hifimidi, can you tell me where the preset "Pure tapping" comes from, as in the official walkthrough demonstration form OTS, it doesn't show in the list of tone presets...
How do you enjoy your 88-key MIDI controller? I have been using my old Korg Triton Le 88 as a MIDI controller. Just wondering if you find any benefits with having a dedicated MIDI controller for your VSTs? Thanks, and great work!
+murkan14 It's not bad. It works. Although, I honestly don't use most of its features. I think the keys are loud, which is why i have to mute my mic with I'm playing on these vids. They feel stiffer than I like (Yamaha is the best keys for the buck), and the velocity sensitivity is on the heavy side, but it's well worth the cost. Benefits are being BUSS powered, and being made for the sole purpose of controlling midi data, which means they usually work on most systems.
So, I'm looking to expand my guitar and bass libraries especially, which of the companies (AmpleSound, OTS, or MusicLab) would you suggest I START with? I'm okay with any varied suggestions as well (i.e., Strat from one, bass from another, acoustic from the last, etc.). Thanks
For acoustic, AmpleSound hands down. For electric guitar, OTS and RealStrat/LPC/etc are great, although OTS comes with fx. For bass, that's a tough one. I am really enjoying using Native Instrument's basses, but AmpleSound is cutting edge and their jazz and precision bass are very versatile. However, I have been looking at IK Multimedia's MODO Bass and see a lot of potential in it. If you prefer the authentic sound, go with Ample Bass J or P.
hifimidi Just an update. I took your advice and 12 libraries later I am madly in love! THANK YOU AGAIN!! I have one question; I've noticed that I'm not hearing any release samples from any of the Ample Sound libraries when I play my controller (Yamaha K8), yet when I strum a string on the graphic I hear them clearly (perfection). I'm using VSTHost and Cantabile Lite as my VST players (this may be the culprit). Any advice on how to get the release samples going? Thanks for all of your help!
The Apollo Z depends. Amplesound is easy to use and the recording quality is extremely clean. OTS sounds very natural when you play it. Both are great, but personally Amplesound is easier to use.
+zawette 5 years old. I feel like my skills have been diminishing because I don't get to play as much as I used to. That's part of the reason I do these videos, too--keep my chops up. ;)
I came for the review but stayed for the beautiful, effortless playing. Awesome work man! That's some serious chops you have there.

YOU PLAY TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
You always impress me
"Let me stop talking so you don't fall asleep to my soothing voice.." *proceeds to play a lullabye*
You should activate the "Automatic Chords" in order to achieve a more realistic sound out of the "Strumming engine"!
When you set up strumming, you need to program down AND upstrokes. You used all down strokes. Plus the spacing was off . Watch the OTS videos. It works. I am not saying this to be critical. "So that you don't fall asleep from hearing my soothing voice" - I have heavy duty insomnia and I can confirm it does make me fall asleep LOL. :D

Try that one: ilyaefimov.com Great and awesome guitar library.
I've actually been checking them out too! Their libraries are superb and pretty well priced.Thanks.
Do you find any similarities or differences with Music Lab Real guitar 5?
11:50 I'm in love and sold
"boy band" preset, LOL
amazing playing!

+hifimidi Gracias...
I like this guy.
IN MY OPINION EVOLUTION Acoustic steel GUITAR EXCELS WITH THOSE JAZZ RIFFS. IT"S GOT BODY HOWEVER IN Sustain MODE I"VE SEEN BETTER WITH AGT extra
Or you could just hire a guitarist.
