Heartbreaking for fans because you would truly cherish say a helmet and have it on display and appreciate it. Rather than someone who puts it in a storage facility as an investment piece .
WoW, great to see this catalog, I spot some interesting details on some pictures. "Mr. Starbuck" must have a totally awesome collection, would love to see a "museum tour video"... 😉
I bought myself a Cylon from Kropserkel some years ago. They were the builders of the suit of Cylon armour that appears in the pilot episode of the BSG 2003 remake. Yeah, that wasn't cheap either but doable compared to this stuff...
I wonder if some of these items were part of the Propstore Auction in Los Angeles in June? There were some amazing items- from one of the only Muffy II costumes, to Terry Carters'/ Herb Jefferson Jr.s/ Richard Hatchs' & other uniforms; models like Croad's viper-like ship, a prototype of Mattel's unreleased Galactica, to pieces from the Tram ride at Universal- to name just a few items. There was also the "Gary Cannavo" auction in 2017- of Classic Battlestar Galactica & Buck Rogers ship Models. Amazing Collection. I tried to order the physical catalog- (the photos are incredible!)- but it was sold out. A pdf is still avalible to download, for those who are interested 👍😎 I remember when Richard Hatch was filming his "Second Coming" trailer & said all the old costumes were in storage in some warehouse in LA. I wonder if that's still the case. That's a gold mine!
Awesome info on the PDF. It was super easy to find and the pictures are amazing! --profilesinhistory.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Cannavo92F.pdf Let's see if RUclips culls this link
Wow this catalog is really cool lots of great photographs with lots of information too. I like the sketches by Joe Johnston. The tie-ins to Buck Rogers are interesting and funny. Great video!
1:19 ...and... 4:26, Hey! There's the 'Space Croppers' helmet we talked about previously! The write-ups are interesting, the grey version being for the unfilmed second year, and the gold version being the one that was repurposed for G80. Wow!
I'd say probably not as I only recognize three or four costumes that were made into cards..unless they are still sitting on the rest!@@battlestarcollectica7106
If I could have only one prop from the original series it would have to be a Colonial laser pistol, with a holster and belt of course (I'd probably need to use Jolly's belt at this point though.)
That's a tough one because there are a lot of items I would like to own; Daggit costume, Some cubits or perhaps a Cylon mask. I guess if I had to pick one and one thing only, it would be one of the Viper Pilot Helmets. Those are the coolest things from Battlestar Galactica.
Some ultra rich collectors about..but you should try to get what you can for your budget. Im a dr who prop collector. Some items go for silly money but ive got 2 shelves full of items.
Half a million back then was a lot of money for a TV show that lasted just for one year. The Japanese sales rumor started the day the auction occurred. That was the word spreading through out the prop community.
500K today is not a lot for this collection. Especially when you see what items are going for now for collectables. If you are looking to make money on memorabilia however there is a sweet spot in timing before those of us who care die off. I would venture a guess that there are not a lot of Lone Ranger collectors out their anymore.
This is amazing. That Japanese collector's got a haul! 😂❤
I know! I wish he would let the community see his collection!!

I agree! How cool would it be just to have something used on the show!

I agree! Hopefully he is watching!!

I once had one of their suits! It was amazing! Have you ever seen their funny Cylon out of work video? It’s great!🤣🤣🤣🤣
you could always buy the not-prop versions. I have Star Trek TNG Phasers, tricorders, and a gold engineer uniform shirt
I’m hoping that Diamond Select Toys decides to produce some cool prop replicas. Would be amazing!

Wow! Thanks for the info. I’m going to look at that pdf. I wanted that Mattel Galactica but missed the auction!

Great video!
Joe Johnston deserves more credit then he gets for BSG!!

I know! A lot of info packed into this catalog!
@@battlestarcollectica7106 Maybe you could produce a single vid and showing all of the pages? 🤩
That catalog would be the only thing I could afford from a screen-used prop auction.
It’s the only thing I came away with!! Lol!!
That's sad how its become I used watch it with my dad so I have fun memories Tide to it...
Thanks for watching the episode!
I think some of the costumes were the source of the Battlestar Galactica archive costume cards that were later released by Rittenhouse.
Now that is very interesting! Could they have been the mystery buyer?
I'd say probably not as I only recognize three or four costumes that were made into cards..unless they are still sitting on the rest!@@battlestarcollectica7106
Wow what a treasure trove!
It really is! I wish I could go back to that day!

Colonial Viper pilot helmet and/or jacket.
Awesome stuff and 100% fed up with hoarders 🙃🙂
You got that right!
I thought for sure it was Dirk Benedict lol
Now that would be cool (but a little creepy!). Could you imagine his house looking like the inside of the Galactica! Lol!🤣
@@battlestarcollectica7106 lol wellllll he IS Starbuck after all lol 😄
Lot of sci-fi auctions to choose from!
It was an amazing auction! Once in a life time!
Wasn't Twiggy from Buck Rogers?
A lot of Buck Rogers props where up for auction as well.
Some ultra rich collectors about..but you should try to get what you can for your budget. Im a dr who prop collector. Some items go for silly money but ive got 2 shelves full of items.
Nice! I’m sticking to the toys. Much cheaper on my budget!
I support you.
Thanks!!
Lol besides recognizing that the internet unkmown bots were there to win the bids so we're many who bid on the leather paraphernalia lol
Very interesting! That’s probable what happened. Not cool!
That is insane
I agree!!
I saw on tv a auction for STNG props, filming ships clothes, props etc, jump to the millions at a live auction, like bstg some folks have money. 👍
It’s a whole other world of collecting. I’ll stick to the cheap stuff! 😂
@@battlestarcollectica7106 Amen.
I would love to own a Colonial Viper Helmet
I just did a episode that looked at the eFX Viper Helmet. It’s very nice and at a fraction of the cost of an actual studio prop!
How'd anyone know the high roller was from Japan? As crazy as this sounds, 500k for all that now seems like a bargain for screen used props.

@battlestarcollectica7106 Yeah, I hate that it's buried in a private collection. Thanks for sharing!
Because it was being shipped to Japan
@comicbookninja5268 didn't say that was announced and if I went to an auction and they did that, I'd walk out.
😮😮😮 How many great iriginal items !!! 😮😮😮
I know! I wish I could go back in time and try harder at getting something!

Back then it was a lot but I agree. A bargain today!
