Have you ever heard any stories from 1978 of someone traveling the country appearing in the Cylon costume to promote the show possibly before it aired? I have a friend who swears that in middle school someone came to the school in the Cylon costume and hung out in the parking lot with the kids. I've been very tempted to go to the school and see if they have any record of it or photographs. I was wondering if maybe you heard of similar appearances being made to promote the premiere of the series back in '78.

I had several of these from back then. Love them all great articles and great covers. Sadly recently my old comics and magazines were stolen in a break-in. I especially liked the BSG advertising and the articles in the Science Fantasy Film Classics magazine.

I can't remember if you have covered this but have you seen the video titled "Behind the Scenes of Battlestar Galactica1978" ? The home video footage from Dave Berry. He had worked with ILM on Star Wars as well as early Apogee on Battlestar Galactica when it first started and they were making the 2-hour movies before they started the individual episodes. It's lots of great behind the scenes footage of them working on the effects like on the ice planet. It also shows a lot of silliness of the crew playing with the cameras and having fun while creating great effects. There are two videos one on Star Wars and then there's one on Battlestar Galactica which both feature lots of easter eggs if you know what you're looking for. Love your channel keep up a great work.

That book is amazing, when I first saw it I thought it was just some stuff that he had worked on that was being auctioned off. I didn't realize it was from his own personal collection of things he liked. Was there anything in the catalog from the film Dark Star, which he also worked on?

I got this issue back in the 1980’s always has been one of my favorite comic books of all time !

The BSG I want back is not the original, But the 2003 to 2009 one with Starbuck which was much better than the original.

Shame, wouldn't be too difficult to know what most fans would like to see, they don't seem to take the IP seriously enough or they just don't want to make money. Manufacturers could join/check fan communities as an example, engage with fans, next related product polls, show mouthwatering pics of new ships etc...

Remember when RC2 had the Battlestar Galactica toy license in the early 2000s? Their Vipers were made of plastic, but were pretty screen accurate and had nice weathering & even pilots. RC2 released two Vipers--a regular light gray one and a darker gray variant. They both had solid display stands, but they also came with landing gear that you could attach and detach.

Dam that's pretty great. Pilot Starbuck is a great likeness too, I hear your critique but I think it's really good. Imo tho the eaglemoss is still the best one. This obviously has the superior advantage in having a pilot in the cockpit tho. Thnx for the vid!

I have to hear this now! About a year ago, an unfinished episode of the fan series Star Trek New Voyages titled "Torment of Destiny" was released on the RUclips channel RetroNB in which Richard Hatch plays the villain. The same channel has a video titled "InAlienable" with both Richard Hatch and Gary Graham, another sci-fi legend. Must watches for fans of Hatch. So Say We All!!!

I have the titanium ships but i rather have the konami versions.

I think this came out great next to the other mobius releases ...i also have the remake galactica which is smaller.

I have this....I actually bought two ,one in package...I didn't care for the viper or raider maybe because they were too big and look like the lost detail. I always wonder how this look 🤔 next to the eaglemoss...I always felt this would look awesome next to the konami vipers and Cylon raiders.

I met Richard a couple of times with repeat visits to dragoncon, i really wish he couldve got a green light for Second Coming, would have been great!... he had another sci fi project that could've been amazing, The Great War of Magellan, he had a lot of world building into that one...

nice clickbait. i am sure these are going to be "quality", and let's not kid ourselves that the og series was some masterpiece. it's one thing to go the dr who route with radio dramas of sorts, another to make spectacularly cheap looking mediocrities like st new voyages. let it go.

Bless the cast for completing it to full fruition despite his passing, if it's available I will definitely get my own copy (Wish there was a link for purchase). Incidentally, this material for a higher accomplishment can in fact be adapted right to an ANIMATION. Meaning of course The G.I.Joe quality kind of art, or Superfriends, He-Man, etc etc. Realistic art of Comic Books. Thnx for the update!

Imagine Galactica got to earth and was intercepted and escorted in by Wilma and Buck. Both the series crossing over for their second seasons would have been great

Thanks for sharing the good news! I think I already know what that nod to Galactica 1980 is. I can clearly see that Starbuck/Dirk Benedict is missing from these pics. I'm guessing that maybe Starbuck is still lost and they're looking for him.

How do we buy it?

As someone who still has his Original 12 Star Wars figures, I never liked the BSG figures as a kid. I felt the paint jobs were poor in comparison (yes 8 year old me felt that way) I didn't like how they looked alongside Star Wars figures. Which sucks now, cause wish I had some. Same with the Buck Rogers figures. I had a couple of them, but not all (I still have Twiki). I had a friend with the Viper, Raider, and land ram tho. I liked the smaller scale for ships because they were easier to play with

I never cared for the remake with the female Cylon, etc. The original is best and it would be interesting to see a new faithful adventure made for film.

Love this. I wish Richard Hatch's vision got put to film in a complete continuation, but this is the next best thing.

I have these through Audible. They are a fun listen; but, if I understand correctly, due to copyright & license issues the characters aren't referred to as Sheba, Col. Tigh, Casseopia, etc. You have to be very familiar with their voices to keep track of who is who. Sadly, Dirk Benedict is not present and he is sorely missed. They are well done updated versions of the characters. Anyone who is a fan of the original BSG, will love these. For a show that was cancelled to soon; it's amazing to get something like this

I remember when he was trying to get this off the ground. It was a real shame the way it went. Honestly I would rather have the Hatch BSG, than any of the Star Trek fan stuff. He had just about everybody from the old show. Which I think makes the show. Give Colicos a knife and fork, and let him go. Nobody could deliver like he could. It is good that something was done, there was so much work in Richard's show.

Wow. I had never heard of this before. Terry Carter had a real presence in every scene he was in on BSG, so it will be great to hear him play the lead. That having been said, I cringed a bit at the description for CD3. Another crash landing story!

Please tell me this is true.. I'd love to see Richard Hatch's legacy fulfilled...And new collectibles too😉

I bought all of Richard's BSG comics and novels as first edition hardcovers. Not an easy thing to do in the UK, believe me! But i never knew about these discs. Thank you, i'll have to check them out! PS. Redemption for G80! 👍

This is great news although I did not see Dirk Benedict's name listed on those little booklets so I guess Dirk is not gonna be in this which that part is kinda dissapointing and he was not even pictured. So I guess there will be no Starbuck shown in this.
