Naa. I don't care much for this storyline. Imagine, however, if at the end of BSG, that final jump took them into Federation territory, they dropped out of FTL just outside, say, Jupiter. Can you imagine? They make contact with a starship, but the Admiral in charge of the defense of Earth doesn't believe their story. He thinks that the machine race - the Cylons - that Adama and Tie describe, are actually Borg. The admiral has the Galactica escorted by several starships, because BSG 75 is many times larger than any starships in the federation fleet... and brings Adama and his senior staff down for questioning. Meanwhile, the main Cylon force jumps into Federation territory and is shocked to find the 13th colony (Earth) is many times more powerful than any Cylon base star. Continue the story....

And that’s why they call it a Battlestar. I feel like a StarFleet upgraded Battlestar is almost like a mobile Deep Space Nine. An enormous weapons platform with an added propulsion system. I can only imagine what kind of damage a Squadron of StarFleet upgraded Vipers could do. I’d like to see a fleet of StarFleet Vipers going up against a wing of Jem’Hadar ships.

Took apart a Ori Mothership and crushed an Imperial Flotilla. And I gave Andromeda a dissection! Trust me you're going to have fun playtesting this ship against everything!
The Jump Drive would definitely be on Starfleets list of BSG Tech to reverse Engineer. In the series Adama stated that travelling 13,000 light years would take a while (a few episodes to get to Cylon Earth).....Voyager would take more than a decade
Well in Star Trek Discovery you kind of have something similar with the Spore Drive (basically teleport to wherever you're going). However I believe the Jump Drive is more limited (will have to watch BSG again) as to range. That said I think a Jump Drive is more realistic then some magical space shroom using engine.

I always figured if the Galactica universe and Trek universe crossed and the Galactica people were UNABLE to get back to their own universe then I could see Starfleet retrofitting and upgrading the Galactica to Starfleet standards and be one hell of a powerful ship. The fact that it destroyed the Enterprise-E in no time flat....holy crap. The Voyager-J knew it was either evenly matched or had no chance and that's why they rammed you lmao.

Ok, now somebody HAS to make a Borgified Cylon Basestar! Actually came up with an idea for a Galactica/Star Trek crossover a few years ago which would end up with a Cylon Basestar jumping to the Star Trek universe one billion years in the past and heavily damaged to where the encounter the planet of living machines from the Motion Picture and... well....they became the first Borg with the basestar's hybrid being the first Queen.
Man I wish there was a battlestar game where you could control them like in bridge commander... broadsides, flak barriers, fighters. Basically deadlock, but in this game engine.

I’d say pulse phasers would be more suitable flavor-wise for the Galactica. And I don’t think it should be able to beat the E seeing as it’s tech is straight-up obsolete. Ah well, mod power creep and all that. Still a very creative idea!

Hello Cactus Pete. I've had this mod for a while now, although mine does not have the quantum torpedoes that I see listed. However she does not need them. Aside from those mega phaser batteries, Fed Galactica has some form of close-range torpedoes of her own that do considerable damage. Regarding a head-on with the ship's you listed. Yes she can take them.

That's the new Galactica. The 1978 Galactica has about 30 to 40% coverage of reflective armor that just radiates the energy of the Cylons back into space, and it's internal hull is at least 3x as thick as Federation.
Galactica was a battleship/carrier. She had shields (most forget this, it was in the second show, she shrugged off a nuke), had armor, lazers, rail guns in the bow, huge guns, point defense lazers and projectile cannon, anti ship missiles, nuke missiles, and fighters. The fighters had projectile cannon or lazers, missiles, small nukes. The Galactica heavy cannons were not conventional cannons like WWII battleships but railguns, just smaller than the main rail guns on the bows. She used hyper jump, not warp travel. She could jump 32 light years instantly, but coul not match the range of a constitution class. She had some science gathering ability but outclassed in that regard by the constitution class. Galactica was first and foremost a warship. Her weapons should be able to overwhelm a klingon D7 or federation Constitution class with ease in a head on fight. Galactica weakness was her manuverability. If the constitution could avoid her fighters, a smart captain could manuver to Galacticas rear and and destroy her engines. You should just equip a Galactica with her original weapons and fighters and see how she fairs.
I tried a game called Galaxy Idle from the Google play store. Very soothing before bed. They have enemy ships that look like TOS Enterprise, x-wings, Battlestar. Lots of interesting color jewels to mine.
This one would have been especially cool if you had it going up against the Romulan D'Deridex, or a Dominion Jem'Hadar battlecruiser, or a Star Wars Imperial II Star Destroyer as other larger type starships. or a Borg Tactical Cube/Assimilation Cube.
BSG was built like a tank without shields able to absorb nukes, adding fed shields and fed weapons, perhaps post contact (remeber BSG was seeking earth) Fed ships were never built as a purpose warship while the Battlestar was. The main weapon of the Battlestar was her fighters. I like the old BSG better but the Idea of merging BSG with Starfleet is an interesting one and One being tech driven and the other tech limited after blending would lead to impresive war ships, if star fleet copied the colonies model with a Battlestar for each member world and still have the traditional fleet for exploring and as scouts the cylons or the borg would be sorry for bringging the two together. Adding a warp core to those BS lightspeed able engines would be able to cruise at warp 9.8 all day long. Vipers with a warp belly pod would be amazing attack fighters with some shields. The upgraded BS should have warp nacelles ethier above and bellow or added to the landing bay pods. You basicly have a Defiant upscaled to the size of 2 or 3 Gallaxies with a fighter wing of about 400. With the heavy armour and shields even the selfdistruct with a ramming should take mutiple hits from ST ships.
Does she not have fighters because her launchbays were converted to handle the 70+ torpedo launchers? Seems logical. Is it possible to give her back her flak guns which would target incoming enemy torpedoes?
Seriously. This mod MUST include the TOS battlestars with their Vipers from 1978's show, along with those Cylon basestars and their 3 passenger raiders
Warp drive for its incredibly versatility. At most, the jump drive might give an overall speed advantage if the max jump distance is far enough and the recharge is quick enough.
Just started watching your channel, and I like you can add other series ships. But I think you have this one wrong. Think of Galactica as an Aircraft carrier. The Vipers would draw fire away from her, and almost nothing would get past the flak cannons. Love what Jupiter station did with my all time favorite ship.....
I'd estimate roughly 180 to 216 Vipers, 40 to 96 Raptors, and 50 Shuttlecraft. It's a beefy carrier. We've never actually seen it with It's full compliment
In BGG 76 the fighters were stated as about 400 vipers for the full wing plus shuttles. The bays were big enough to handle a ship designed on the scale of a WW2 ship (basicly a 747 with the wings clipped) the launch tubes were to the front sides, one thing the forward openings would cut through in the remake.
I feel that they didn't quite finish the Starfleet-ification of the Galactica. The outboard engine pods should have been converted to warp nacelles on struts, and the row of engines in the back would be the impulse engines.
Should have kept Galactica 's point defense system, which is far superior than anything Star Fleet offers. Upgrading Vipers with quantum missiles and warp drive would be awesome. Switching from jump drive to warp drive was a good choice. Jump drive has advantages, but warp drive is more responsive (no countdown required).
i love how the modder just slapped Starfleet decals on the BSG lol. i have seen some much more impressive BattleStarfleet Galactica models out there. also this should have a ton of delta flyers, runabaouts and even defiants in the landing pods. the turrets should be used as pulse phasers.
A Battleship/fortress like the BSG would not do any exploration. It would be sent where and enemy needed its tail snapped, or a world that needed to be secured or protected.
Definitely needs fighters fighters fighters and as it is the Battlestar Galactica where are the spinal mounted forward mega-batteries, I'm thinking phaser lances,BSG1 should have two BSG2 which is what we're looking at here should have four
I saw both videos of this, the other had the fighters working. I do love it but think it's over powered. I would change most of the Galactic's guns on the back and such to pulse phasers like the Defiant. I would cut the torpedo Launchers in half because 72 is too much. Then I would put it up against a Dominion fleet: 6 battle cruisers and 15-30 fighters.
I feel Starfleet wouldn't be able to get their hands on a Colonial because she's back in our past...but, maybe the Borg? An early assimilation from their beginnings.

Well, that's insane. Why would a tiny one-man fighter have that kind of firepower? I wouldn't mind seeing the viper and raptor with shields. Throw some small version of the Defiant's phaser cannons on, maybe photon launchers on the raptor. It's nothing like a starship, but at least they'd be survivable and carry a punch as group.
@@easyalpha1 I'm not sure what your point is. Equipping a Viper, a single-person fighter, with Federation weapons isn't going to make it more powerful than a Federation ship many, many, many times larger.

If the fictional viper had weapons on par with a federation starship...it would resemble the power of 20th century naval fighters of the era. Battlestar Galactica was based on Aircraft carriers therefore the fighters were based on the same idea. Let's say the viper had missiles with the destructive powers of a black hole and had the capacity to overload the federation starship shields. Plus the missile could avoid the sensors of a starship..at slipstream speeds. This analogy is what I was referring to.

I'm not too sure Starfleet would have an easy time with Galactica. While she didn't have shields, she had armor, flak, and Vipers. She also had kinetic weapons and we know how well Starfleet shields handle kinetic weapons.
The Vipers would be one-shot kills to any phaser array. Federation ships are faster and far more maneuverable, so its unlikely the Galactica could hit a Federation ship consistently. Without shields, they have no way to counter transporters. Phasers may have trouble cutting through armor, but they could pinpoint any weapon emplacement, the bridge, landing bays, etc. Torpedoes would blow off big chunks with each hit as there are no shields to stop them. And Federation sensors would immediately tell them what their advantages are and what, if any, disadvantages they had.
Does this have to be used with kobiashi maru? I tried it with remastered and I'm getting crashes when it launches quantums. its like the file for the projectile doesnt exist
I love the concept but unless the Galactica was in the 28th century starfleet that's quite overpowered. On a funnier note, how to simulate Galactica jump engines: 1st collide with a ship, 2nd warp 3rd profit in pressed latinum

A Battlestar is basically a Starbase with warp drive. Give her fighters and Runabouts as support ships and even the Scimitar would have problems
This one would have been especially cool if you had it going up against the Romulan D'Deridex, or a Dominion Jem'Hadar battlecruiser, or a Star Wars Imperial II Star Destroyer as other larger type starships. or a Borg Tactical Cube/Assimilation Cube.
Small note, that's not an 'original' Galactica (1978), but the reboot Galactica (2004).

BSG was built like a tank without shields able to absorb nukes, adding fed shields and fed weapons, perhaps post contact (remeber BSG was seeking earth) Fed ships were never built as a purpose warship while the Battlestar was. The main weapon of the Battlestar was her fighters. I like the old BSG better but the Idea of merging BSG with Starfleet is an interesting one and One being tech driven and the other tech limited after blending would lead to impresive war ships, if star fleet copied the colonies model with a Battlestar for each member world and still have the traditional fleet for exploring and as scouts the cylons or the borg would be sorry for bringging the two together. Adding a warp core to those BS lightspeed able engines would be able to cruise at warp 9.8 all day long. Vipers with a warp belly pod would be amazing attack fighters with some shields. The upgraded BS should have warp nacelles ethier above and bellow or added to the landing bay pods. You basicly have a Defiant upscaled to the size of 2 or 3 Gallaxies with a fighter wing of about 400. With the heavy armour and shields even the selfdistruct with a ramming should take mutiple hits from ST ships.
Imagine the Battlestar equipped with advanced Borg weaponry. It would literally make even the Dominion surrender.

Does she not have fighters because her launchbays were converted to handle the 70+ torpedo launchers? Seems logical. Is it possible to give her back her flak guns which would target incoming enemy torpedoes?

Warp drive for its incredibly versatility. At most, the jump drive might give an overall speed advantage if the max jump distance is far enough and the recharge is quick enough.
Just started watching your channel, and I like you can add other series ships. But I think you have this one wrong. Think of Galactica as an Aircraft carrier. The Vipers would draw fire away from her, and almost nothing would get past the flak cannons. Love what Jupiter station did with my all time favorite ship.....
Technical the Galactica refit isn't a warship, it's listed as a mobile space dock or starbase assembly craft. Reference to the Defiant 😂😂😂.

I'd estimate roughly 180 to 216 Vipers, 40 to 96 Raptors, and 50 Shuttlecraft. It's a beefy carrier. We've never actually seen it with It's full compliment

In BGG 76 the fighters were stated as about 400 vipers for the full wing plus shuttles. The bays were big enough to handle a ship designed on the scale of a WW2 ship (basicly a 747 with the wings clipped) the launch tubes were to the front sides, one thing the forward openings would cut through in the remake.
I feel that they didn't quite finish the Starfleet-ification of the Galactica. The outboard engine pods should have been converted to warp nacelles on struts, and the row of engines in the back would be the impulse engines.
Should have kept Galactica 's point defense system, which is far superior than anything Star Fleet offers. Upgrading Vipers with quantum missiles and warp drive would be awesome. Switching from jump drive to warp drive was a good choice. Jump drive has advantages, but warp drive is more responsive (no countdown required).
If we're doing this, what about a NNC Galactica against a Borg Cube?
i love how the modder just slapped Starfleet decals on the BSG lol. i have seen some much more impressive BattleStarfleet Galactica models out there.
also this should have a ton of delta flyers, runabaouts and even defiants in the landing pods. the turrets should be used as pulse phasers.

A Battleship/fortress like the BSG would not do any exploration. It would be sent where and enemy needed its tail snapped, or a world that needed to be secured or protected.
Id love to see the old battlestar galactica in this game, if its not already in it, it always looked better to me

I saw both videos of this, the other had the fighters working. I do love it but think it's over powered. I would change most of the Galactic's guns on the back and such to pulse phasers like the Defiant. I would cut the torpedo Launchers in half because 72 is too much. Then I would put it up against a Dominion fleet: 6 battle cruisers and 15-30 fighters.

Battlestars are carriers first, which means the one viper will carry enough fire power of a starship cruiser.
Well, that's insane. Why would a tiny one-man fighter have that kind of firepower? I wouldn't mind seeing the viper and raptor with shields. Throw some small version of the Defiant's phaser cannons on, maybe photon launchers on the raptor. It's nothing like a starship, but at least they'd be survivable and carry a punch as group.

@@easyalpha1 I'm not sure what your point is. Equipping a Viper, a single-person fighter, with Federation weapons isn't going to make it more powerful than a Federation ship many, many, many times larger.
@@Michael-dy2lb The one fighter with a destructive power of a fleet is quite a old concept from the 20th century. If the fictional viper had weapons on par with a federation starship...it would resemble the power of 20th century naval fighters of the era. Battlestar Galactica was based on Aircraft carriers therefore the fighters were based on the same idea. Let's say the viper had missiles with the destructive powers of a black hole and had the capacity to overload the federation starship shields. Plus the missile could avoid the sensors of a starship..at slipstream speeds. This analogy is what I was referring to.

I'm not too sure Starfleet would have an easy time with Galactica. While she didn't have shields, she had armor, flak, and Vipers. She also had kinetic weapons and we know how well Starfleet shields handle kinetic weapons.
The Vipers would be one-shot kills to any phaser array. Federation ships are faster and far more maneuverable, so its unlikely the Galactica could hit a Federation ship consistently. Without shields, they have no way to counter transporters. Phasers may have trouble cutting through armor, but they could pinpoint any weapon emplacement, the bridge, landing bays, etc. Torpedoes would blow off big chunks with each hit as there are no shields to stop them. And Federation sensors would immediately tell them what their advantages are and what, if any, disadvantages they had.

Does this have to be used with kobiashi maru? I tried it with remastered and I'm getting crashes when it launches quantums. its like the file for the projectile doesnt exist
I love the concept but unless the Galactica was in the 28th century starfleet that's quite overpowered.

😂😂😂. Yes, it may be slightly over powered, totalling a Sovereign in a few seconds! Still, quite fun to play with. It may be interesting putting it up against ancient ships, or earth ships.

I realize you can't do that in this game. But, Galactica wasn't much of a fighter. She was basically an aircraft carrier. Galactica vs an Imperial Star Destroyer would be a much better match.
