If you heard the original recording,
      the Andantes sang
      additional background vocals
with the Four Tops because the
      guys were too low.
That’s why the three females were up
      there.
      The guys were still singing.
      There’s plenty of videos of
      them singing this song without
the girls, but you’ll see why the
      girls were added.

Will Lee doing a hell of a job with that James Jamerson bass part. I'm not surprised.
One of the best parts about being old is I grew up (12 yrs. old in 1966) when all the best music was made. I think we all took it for granted that it would just go on like that.

They were just about on every
Four Tops’ hit while they were at Motown.

I love the original Four Tops. But this iteration is disappointing.
I can see why they need women behind them for vocal support.
Look at the male singer on the lead's right. Is he even doing anything?

I mean he’s almost dead here… I give him credit for still being out onstage

He was sick. He is an original bass for them. He is the one created all the four tops dance steps. Look at old footage and you can see he actually moves and dances the best out of the original 4. He has stage 4 cancer and months later his leg was amputated and he died this same year of this performance. So he is doing the best he can to keep up

Nice seeing this -- but, good grief, that "hey-hey-hey-hey" stuff is just wrong-wrong-wrong-wrong...

"Music used to be clean, not dirty! Blah blah blah..." You know Jelly Roll Morton, from the 1920s-on? Look up what "jelly roll" means.
