It’s demeaning and belittling. She’s a human being, and clearly they’re just jokes. You don’t need to objectify her and say she needs to “get more self confidence because she’s hot” that’s just disrespectful.

Consider: Try Not To Laugh Theatre. Everyone is given a scene to play out together, but it's one persons job to make the others laugh/break character. Do this scene (or different scenes) until everyone's had a turn trying to make the others laugh

@@brave3286 to be fair, mental illness can be alot of things. It's not all dark and angry and depressing. Some people with ADHD often psychologically sees their mental illness as colorful. Showing that their mind and body can't cope with their hyperactivity.

Tommy should absolutely have a spot on the regular cast if he doesn’t already (new fan so I’m not sure), between this and the drag university graduation ceremony from a previous TNTL he’s had some of the most well-considered and hilarious bits for me.

@@nevermore8655 I disagree. First of all, Tommy is openly gay, but fine, that doesn’t excuse anything. Secondly, when I watched the episode, not once did “gay stereotype” come in mind when I saw the outfit. The outfit isn’t even remotely close to the pride flag; it just looks like a lot of bright colors. In my opinion, not all multi-brightcolored thing has to be about the lgbt community.
And finally, it’s a gag from a comedy show. He’s just using irony that “oh it’s an mental illness, but i don’t look like I’m bad”. C’mon, catch the guy a break. Maybe he didn’t think about offending people. We just need to realize that no one should really put their focus on this one specific joke. Laugh, or don’t, and move on.

Even before seeing that comment, I was worried people would equate his mental illness bit with sexuality, and lo and behold, comments like this happen. So no, it's not JUST the fault of the person who said it. The accountability should be for both.
@@nevermore8655 as I stated, I disagree that the bit was anywhere close to being about sexuality. It wasn't until I saw yours and that other person's comment that I saw people have a problem with it. In this instance, aren't you the one who is enforcing "bright colors=gay"? Also, Is the "haha shaymian" comment common, or just a really fractional group of people watching this?
Going back to my last point, neither of us should care this much about this. If all comedians have to watch their every move, trying not to give off the wrong impression, comedians as a species would die out, for there's always going to be someone who will "interpret it the wrong way". All we can do is to know that we're better than the "haha shaymian" people, and move on from this 10 second joke.

I don’t usually comment, but I’ve seen so so many of these and aside from the hilarious growing skit lore, it’s just so fun to see all of them having a blast while genuinely getting better and better and better at the creativity and improv of it all.
You can tell the whole gang is just such a blast to work with, but they also are feeding off of the laughter and energy from one another. So fun to watch.
