    You two pioneers can hardly know how helpful you are to people like me. For weeks on end I have been putting together a hybrid studio such as you are building, and wiring it all together has been particularly challenging to me. Yesterday, September 7, 2021, I discovered your videos, and since then I have happily been glued to them, and taking copious notes, knowing that at last, by watching how you are doing what you are doing, and applying that information to my specific studio development situation, I will now have the help I have been needing, but which can be found nowhere else on the internet except in the awesome videos you guys are making. I simply cannot thank you enough! Most sincerely, Jim Cummins

    What a bummer that we had a defective reverb unit! I learned a lesson that's for sure!

    • @jefbass4576
      @jefbass4576 3 года назад +2

      double check the power supply- that it is correct for the unit. the seller may have included the wrong one. Some devices of that era used a 9vAC psu, and with a 9vDC unit the LED's may still power, but the audio circuit wouldn't work. Alesis and Lexicon are notorious for this.....

    • @cgodly

      Yes, probably the wrong power supply, I had the same issue with mine.

    I watched all the install video's. And I want to thank you guys for these video's. This was amazing the fact that you do this just to help people is really unbelievable. SSL should have sponsord these video's. You have done what the product manufacturers should have done. I hope that at least they link your playlist on there product page or something like that. Again thank you so much for these video's.

      Actually, SSL said they have no interest in in sponsoring my videos or being involved in any way. I approached them when I first purchased the console and they are simply not interested. With so much of your connections on the patch bays, especially with the D25 connectors have you considered Flock Audio? All you need is just one "Patch XT". You had opportunity to get rid off all those hanging cables, plus make it more efficient in the long run.

    • @MixingMusicAnalog
      @MixingMusicAnalog  3 года назад

      I looked at Flock Audio and I would need more than just one and they are $2500 each so I opted for the standard patch bays. Maybe down the road I'll check them out

    Great videos! I really enjoy watching you guys setting up the studio :D And I have had similar experiences with my Apollos: the Console tends to forget settings every now and then (even when it pretends that the settings are loaded), so you have to reload. Also I have another issue with I/O: When I use an I/O-plugin in Logic, I first have to insert the I/O-plugin in Logic, select the routing within the plugin and then I have to move the plugin to another plugin-slot, so that audio actually flows. Could be a Logic problem though.
    As an idea for your future videos: it would be great to see the workflow using the Origin with the UC1 plugin compressors/gates (compared to mixing on an old SSL desk with built-in analogue dynamics). Thaaaanks a lot and keep up the great work!

    How about a "RUclips Made Easy" video? I'd like to know how to blend video from two different sources - like when you have a small screen in one corner of the full video. Also, how do you make sure the audio lines up with the video when you don't record both to the same media; for instance, if I record audio to Studio One and the video to the card in my camera. How do I sync them? Thanks. :)

      Yea, I installed that one morning and did not bother filming it. Seems like that would be even more "boring" than the install set of videos....LOL. Man. Too bad that Apollo glitch happens. I know you’ve tested the Quantum and I really think you gotta sell them and get a few Quantum’s.
    Anyways I think I would’ve put the Apollo’s and Mac mini in the rack on the right all the way down. Put the hardware items all in the left rack Or as many as you can that requires more tweaking There’s really no need to have the Apollo’s where they are now since your not touching them. Get the stuff you tweak closer to the console and at least a little closer to the sweet spot.
