I haven’t tried a lot of gates as I don’t need them often in the electronic music I do, but I’ve found Big Beautiful Door by Boz Digital to be very good. That’s my goto for gating duties, either that Fab Filter’s gate plugin.
Great video! I use several plugins you have mentioned in this video but I also use some Cubase built in features (pitch correction and that kind of things...) Anyway, the A|B plugin is really helpful. Room correction, in some form, is essential and indeed necessary.
Same! I keep telling people I've used Cubase since Cubase 5 and the main reason is the built-in vocal editor.. The steps skipped is a game changer for workflow that cut out all of the things Melodyne and others have you go through to get to the same destination..love Cubase for that.
I have the ones you use as well as smart gate from sonible but BSA silencer stays in my template. It's simple & effective & has a ghost note button that can be automated to keep the snare open.
For Gates also try the "BSA Silencer".. very simple and effective, also very affordable.
that is true....

Another vote for the BSA Silencer. Best gate I have used.
It's pretty good

Yes, I'd really enjoy seeing how you use Trigger 2.
Noted!
Nice to hear you love the Sonnox Drumgate it’s awesome, I notified you when it was on sale. Nice to hear that you like it 👌🏼🤘🏼
Was that you who told me about the sale? Thanks very much, yes I love the Sonnox!
@@MixingMusicAnalog Me too, I use still Drawmer DS201’s but the Sonnox is really good 👍🏼
Very useful, thank you. And I agree with your "categories"... 100%
Glad it was helpful!
Dave, excellent video! Glad you put this one out.
Glad you liked it!
Cool, I own and use all of these, except for RX. So we are aligned on must haves!

Thanks for watching!
@@VinceJackson1 A trigger on the snare for sidechain on the gate works great for chost notes 👍🏼
The gates on the API console UAD is hard to beat and so is the gate on the SSL 9000 J….just FYI if you don’t have a good gate plug for anyone.
Thanks!
@@MixingMusicAnalog love your studio!! Hats off to you!
The best gate is by far Silencer by Black Salt Audio.
I like that one as well
A good alternative to Trigger is the UVI Drum Replacer. It can be as simple as Trigger but it also has a lot more, and more useful, features
such as which features?
Well said coach Great vid Great tips. Thanks CheerZ
