Brings back memories as a Plane Cap on F-4J -S !! Most is pretty relevant procedure wise on shore stations, however on carrier deployments we hook up to ships power from the catwalk and a huffer for the air. In The S models with Fiber optics it was much easier electrically which saved room for an other fuel cell behind the weapons officer and 1500 lbs of WT!! The F4-S also had varreable wing slats like the F4-E minus the weight of no cannon in the nose! But she got a nice big radar!!😃
Nice video explaining this generator sync. One note regarding that knob near the clock. Currently it acts just like an on/dim position switch with turning it having no further effect. There is an info in the manual stating, the functionality will change later.
The formation lights are designed to automatically brighten themselves against the surrounding ambient light levels....if they are turned on during the day they will try to 'out-shine' the sunlight and quickly burn themselves out.
Is there no way to get console backlighting without console floods? The reflection of the floods in the canopy drives me nuts, but when I turn it off I lose the console backlighting too.
11:54 When you turn the switch from ext power to off position, warning lights(instrument bus) come off. However, FO-7 in the TO-1F-4E-1 says if the generator control switch(es) is placed out of the external position with inst ground power switch already in on position, the instrument bus will stay energized. Sooo.. I think it shouldn't turn off like that. Idk I got it correctly, but it would be good to know whether it's correct or not
thank you for the video! very informative, one question please, does the emergency wind turbine is implemented? how does and when does it works? thanks again
Love this sort of indepth explanation. Brings real meaning behind it all. Thank- you.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I love the cockpit night lighting in DCS, this is absolutely beautiful. Thanks for the tut.
The red lighting sure is nice! And I’m with you, night missions can be fun!

Sounds just like the -60 I remember using as a crew chief on the F4
Sure sounds familiar to me as well!

And they will burn the shit out of you if you touch them.

If there are electrical gremlins in the DCS world, at least you are now qualified to phix it 🙂
So long as I don’t need to change out the battery!

My pleasure, glad you enjoyed it! No Ram Air Turbine on this jet. That capability was removed starting with the E model 🙂
Was going to ask about the RAT
That egt should be 696 at idle. -17 engines.
Burnt my fingers many times disconnecting the dash 60 from the F111.
