- Howdy all. I'm starting a new training series on surface to air missile (SAM) detection, recognition, and evasion. This first video is on the SA-2 Guideline. Help me make my content better by adding you tricks to evading SAMs to the comments. Please note that I am not an expert, only having fun working on these.

Great video format, looking forward to this series!
I just leveled up by just watching your video. Thank you!!
Amazing video and info, can’t wait for the rest of the series
Awesome idea for a series! I will watch them all, thank you!
I like this series. Enjoy learning in depth, keep it up!
Solid video! Brilliant series! Calming voice 👌
Excellent information. If I can offer a suggestion; normalizing the video's volume a bit more would be very nice. I don't know if the volume spikes are from alternating distance from the mic or just the recording amplifying your speech emphasis pattern to an extreme. I've checked with headphones and stereo speakers to make sure I'm not just doing something odd. Anyway, thanks for the video. I'm finally at a point in my learning where I'm keenly aware of the need for repetitive focus on concepts, one by one. Particularly those topics that have just blown me out of the air 😄. I've recently grabbed the A4E mod, and the lack of electronic SA is making SAM evasion my current priority.
Noticed that too for the powerpoint presentation. Wasn't happy with it. Thanks for watching though
@@shastasimulations9767 Thanks for making it. I don't mean to complain. If I could make a better video, I wouldn't need to be here :)
9:00 FangSong is not using Doppler spectrum for filtering ground. This is the reason it does not see targets below 600ft AGL. To defeat the SA-2 in DCS all you need to do is to get below 600ft.
Excellent video keep up the good work Insta subscribed
Best way to learn is to teach :) and you do a great job
@Shasta simulations
Cool idea. subscribed to follow along
a little thing you might be confused on. S-75 Divina is the Russian designation
SA-2 Guideline is the NATO designation. You could include both in future episodes to make it clear that there is always two names for each type.
the missile itself is called V-750 (1D) - there are often multiple variants of missiles for a given SAM type though, and they only have names in Russian.
there is no such thing as an SA-75
i would love if you could see chaff on radar. it would make air battles more complex
Also forgot to mention that you can defeat SA-2 with a crossturn (turning from keeping it on 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock
Dude... you're back!!!
Has time this weekend :)
@@shastasimulations9767 You gonna do a new liberation campaign?
@@ColonelAkirNakesh if you like Liberation, you should try Retribution
Awesome stuff! Can I bother you to make a playlist on your channel with these videos?
Done ;)
@@shastasimulations9767 that’s customer service! Thanks man.
@@shastasimulations9767 thanks!!
downvoted for not calling this "Guideline Guidelines" ;)
That's funny
Hi, you mentioned dropping Flares. But they should have no effect on a radar SAM? Does ECM have any effect?
No effect on radar with flares. The F-15 Countermeasures for early access doesn't allow us to drop just chaff. I believe the ECM does have effect, but there is argument within the DCS community that they do not.
