The other is okay portions for $40, but COVERED inside and out with Old Bay, you can't even taste the Lobster. Then they give you a butter dip for it 🤮 butter, old bay, and lobster? You can't even taste the Lobster for $40... 😔 Pretty sure I'm going to Maine this summer for a week. I'm sick in chemo now, and I always wanted to live by the water in Maine. I'm 46, 1 lung, sick a lot, times precious. I gotta get to Maine this summer or else I may never ever get to be there. 🙏
I’ve eaten at many lobster roll places. Last few were in Orlando. Nothing beats Maine. Well Boston has some good rolls too! But Maine rolls have claw, knuckle and the precious tail meat. The other places I’ve seen mainly knuckle and claw. You can’t go wrong with Maine and also get the fresh lobsters and the clams. It’s worth a visit. I also hit some of the other places including stuffed lobster but as you mentioned it clouds the freshness of the lobster. I didn’t video those places as they would be interesting for viewers. Mcloons is a very long drive to get to from my hotel. I’ll optimize my hotel next time :) Happy eating!
You seem a little obsessed with Mark. There are hundreds of amazing places in Maine to get lobster rolls. Try Sprauges just across the road from Reds next time. You won't be disappointed
His research gave me ideas on four of the places. I found two others. Overall, all the lobster places were amazing in Maine. Always fresh. But if you a tourist with a must eat list. Mcloons was amazing. Each of these places were a several hour drive. I wanted to explore the extremes. I’ll try Sprauges next time. In planning to revisit Maine in summer 2024 and also try Maryland blue crab.
I’m literally at Mcloons today sept6th and passed Reds. A local told me it’s wick a set too vs what I was saying. They told me to eat at Spragues next to Reds. I’m going to try that tomorrow. Visit will be on the channel in a week. I love Maine lobster rolls :)

I want to know the texture, the flavors, is it sweet, savory, sour, bitter, salty; i want to know if people are friendly, how long that business has been there, the history of the place and more... I don't want to hear about Mark Wiens. I'm watching you not him.

You will not find one Mainer waiting in that ridiculous line at Red's Eats. Of all the tourist traps in Maine this over priced, over hyped joint takes the cake and you to the cleaners.
Got it! Mc loons was much fresher lobster. Red's Eats was good plump lobster. Quality wise it was good for the price. What else do you suggest? I might head out there again end of 2023 to hit them up again!
NEVER Red's. Big $$$$, fat out of staters in line, traffic on your butt, and.....better, less expensive places here in Maine. Just look. No Mainer ever goes to Red's.
That’s fair. If you’re out of town and need to have a great roll, red’s did have an excellent roll with fresh tasting lobster meat:) what do you suggest? I’m flying into Maine early September to eat at Mcloons. I sadly missed the cabbage island clam back. I’ll video another place this time round!

As a native Mainer, I look for value when buying lobster rolls. Red ' s is over - hyped. McLoons is way better,but off the beaten path.

Mark Weins doesn’t clean out the vein on the lobster tail. 😮.yuck. He needs to do that.
He eats big. I tell yah. Prawns could eat the vein but lobster is large and has to be removed.
